I have a (possibly stupid) question, could be that someone has already covered it here but the thread is quite long and although I've read through at least most of it it might've slipped past me.

The question is as follows: I have AdBlocker (MoboTap) and a few other blockers installed (but obviously not running at the same time). Does it make sense to run AdBlocker (for ads), and then enable the Social Media -blocker of AdMop at the same time or is there overlap or possibility for incompatibilities in some other way? As far as trackers are concerned AdBlocker does the job on it's own?

it's not recommended but sometimes it works: two rule sets can go quite well together, but sometimes they will cause safari forced reloads and issues with webpages.

Guys, what's the best 3 content-blocker that you would recommend from your experience so far?

I haven't tried any yet but would rather jump straight into the best ones and save installing junk.

Thanks

MoboTap wasn't clear on its FAQ if it block trackers but I assume it does. If not now,i guess in the next version they will (clearly).

I don't think it's a good idea to use many blockers at once due to pollution (more unnecessary code to run), leading to more cpu use.

For now the best ones are Purity and AdBlocker (MoboTap). I downloaded the latter while free and uninstalled the other ones.

I like AdBlocker a lot, but currently running Silentium 1.1 and it's slick!

Zerbfra, amazing. Thank you

And yes, you are right: crystal is sh*t
What's the problem with Crystal all off sudden? Sure it's somewhat basic and sure there are better ones out there, but the reviews are mostly positive (at least they were) and it seems to do the job, so while it might not be the best or even great and maybe even barely good, not sure if that somehow means it's horrific suddenly.

It seems like the version available now in the App Store is the "lite" version. There's probably a "pro" version coming soon. Check out their site dolphin.com/adblocker and you will see both and only the "lite" version is available as of today.
Ah, that makes sense. Let's see what the differences are ...

A couple of observations in the Silentium 1.1 beta.

They implemented a feature I requested. You can now see the date and time of the latest rules update.

The social media button is now in the app. It now has a separate sliders for social media buttons and removing comments. The update seems to be loading pages faster as well. Back to testing. :)

Cool! So unlike AdBlocker they block sponsored ads, social widgets and have whitelisting

I really like this app. The UI is slick. It's becoming more customizable as well. I appreciate the developers reply to my e-mails and actually act on the feedback sent.

After surfing several ad intensive sites, Silentium 1.1 beta is definitely loading pages much faster now. :)
