I am new to ad blocking on iOS but have just bought Purify, mainly due to the developer's willingness to participate in this thread. However, why am I still seeing the large Amazon ad just after the last post on a page on this site?
You could be seeing a regional ad. in addition to that possibility, sometimes the placement and service of ads change and the block rules have to be fine tuned.

Chris will probably respond to your post. Just the same, it is best to report the site through the app.

Hi! Sounds like Purify isn't properly enabled in Safari. Troubleshooting steps:
  • Have you enabled Purify in Safari's Settings? If not, check out the tutorial in-app — it walks you through it.
  • Is "Ads and Tracking" blocking enabled in Purify?
Let me know what you find out!
Thanks for fast response. Yes it is enabled in Safari Settings, and Ads & Tracking is enabled in Purify. I've also done a hard reboot of the phone since installing but the ad is still there.

EDIT: It is strange but after posting this, the ad disappeared, even though I hadn't changed settings at all. However I now get half a page of wasted white space? My intention was to stop having to scroll past unnecessary ads, but I still have to scroll past this white space. Is this something being worked on?

Hmm. Assuming blocking appears to be working on other sites (theverge.com is a good test), can you please share a screenshot? (Feel free to DM it if you're more comfortable with that).

Thanks — and apologies for the inconvenience.

EDIT: I see your edit; I could reproduce that blank space occurring in some cases. Will be fixed. Please report the page right from Purify's extension! Thanks.

FWIW, I've had this same problem with another ad blocker too where it seems like the blocker isn't working. Also after rebooting and multiple enable/disable the blocker it finally worked again.

Shopping ads?

Yes. While doing a Google search. Top three results show ads if I use Purify. If I run Silentium they aren't there.

Never had any issues with Purify before so I'm sure this is just a fluke.

Hey

I've always seen a large blank space while using macrumors. In fact I think with every ad blocker I've tried, it's been the same.

Ad Block Multi update is coming. Auto-updating is ready, whitelisting is in the works. I accept beta-testers, so if you wish shoot me a PM with an e-mail address to participate.

@chrismatic I really like your app but would love to see the following changes/features:

- please separate the social buttons and comments button (i like reading comments on some sites but don't like the social buttons)
- please add some country based filter lists (germany, romania etc).
- annoying EU cookie warnings filter
Thanks!

Adblock Plus can't be fast, they have 10MByte rules file embedded. Just plain easylist and easylist with whitelisted "accepted" ads. Too overbloated for mobile.
