i jut dont like to see people here recommending some paid app to new users before they try the free alternatives.

please, just be fair and support open source projects.

after that, if the free apps dont fit your needs, go find some in paid category.

You were recommending Purify every day for a good while. It has been a paid app.

People are free to make up their own mind about which app to support (free or not). What we have been doing in this thread and the mini-review thread, is posting information and thoughts about the use and support of different blockers, so that those reading have a little bit more insight for day to day usage (in general terms). Nobody is trying to dictate or mislead anyone reading the thread.

Use your app and let others use what they will. Its that simple.

but in those days there werent any free good apps, only 'garbage'. (or i didnt know they existed)

when i knew about Adblock Fast, i started to recommend it to everyone; because it is free and is the best for me.

I understand. The point is, you haven't been consistent in your actions. People can see that and tend to tune out the inconsistent cheerleading that often turns rude.

Who wants to keep posting in a thread where they are apt to see you giving someone the 'business' or railing about how crappy another app is?

Bottom line is nobody owes anyone else here an explanation as to why a certain app is supported and used. It is one thing to give one's opinion. It is quite another to go about it the way you have been in the thread.

I rather talk about apps than deal with this same rhetoric day in and day out. How about working with us to turn the thread around, Hank?

and last, but not least:

this is the FIRST version of Adblock Fast.

All the efforts you are doing trying to improve "your" apps, sending feedback to "your" devs. Nothing of that was done with Adblock Fast. Think about it ;)

It just works, out of the box, in the first version. No need to lose time reporting and chating with devs.

Feedback will help apps get better .

I totally agree with what hank is saying about reporting the broken sites or ads on some sites. It's time consuming since it happens quite often. That's why I settled for Safari Blocker since it just works right out of the box. But then it failed my test site ... I am in an endless loop with these blockers.

Back to Blockr again. still the fastest one BY FAR. and blocks every single ad.
Also still happy with this one. BTW, they just updated their filter list. If you don't have background refresh on, you can manually trigger the update by pulling down the main screen in the app.

Heres the thing most of the good ones are fixing the sites and in the end will make the app better ...thats what i am after a good app ...so helping fix or tweak is ok...

I am all for helping to improve the effectiveness of these blockers but sometimes I spend more time doing so than to actually use the problematic sites.

Guys, I'm using Purify and Adblock Fast combo and whenever I'm browsing this site, I noticed I have to refresh to get to any topics.

When I click on a topic, it shows a blank screen, a refresh will load the page properly.

Any ideas what is causing this?

Try using them one at a time i have noticed using more than one at a time can cause issues with some sites.

Do you think you can test opensubtitles.org with Blockr and let me know the result? Thanks.

I may have to check this one out again. I bought this one early and haven't really used it.

I haven't benchmarked it (or any other blocker), but it works well on the sites I visit and IMO has the best customization options without getting too complicated.

He's quick and super nice!

Yes. I switched back to using AdMop because I am too lazy & stupid to add my own rules in Safari Blocker to get a certain sites to work. I emailed the guy last night around midnight and he replied less than 5 hrs later to tell me it's fixed. Amazing support!!!

Your aren't stupid at all. Can't wait until he releases the beta, with whitelisting, etc.

Are you going to test the beta?
