iPad 2 and apple bluetooth keyboard as remote controll!!!

was playing around with acivator and volume keys on apple bluetooth
keyboard and used activator to set camera launch on both volume key presses
and it worked im able to control apps with keyboard so when the camera was on i hit volume up and it activated the shutter and took a picture
so you can use your bluetooth keyboard as remote shutter on your camerai love it!!

New Discovery!

I'm sure most of you know this already, but I've just discovered by it accident and I wanted to share as I was so chuffed (British slang for very pleased) If you tap twice gently on the very bottom of the screen it scrolls down the page. Comes in handy if you're looking for something within the text

sleep or shut down

Have you tried holding down both the power button and the home button at the same time?

i think my problem was because we never shut down are ipad can anyone confirm this for me should you shut down the ipad at the end of the day or just let it sleep?

If your home button is acting wonky.. try this.. Twist the frame of your iPad gently, torque it by twisting gently at opposit corners. This makes the button work again. It was a permanent fix for me.

Is there a way to subcribe to postcast on the iPad?

Before I make a new thread that likely has been ask\answered many times...

Question: Is there a way to subcribe to postcast on the iPad?

If not, what are are some solutions to make it easy get podcasts onto the iPad?

I have a Mac with iTunes (OS 10.7.3 and iTunes 10.6)
I have a PC with iTunes (windows 7)

My new iPad is the version released on March 16th. It is my first iPad. I've owned Macs for several years, but only had a Video iPod prior to the iPad. No iPhone or iTouch. With my video iPod, I've always just connected it to the Mac and did a sync. I am hoping things are slightly easier now that I have a wireless iPad, and the very least I can do a wireless sync. Ideally, it would be automatic.

Thanks for any suggestions.

No you cannot subscribe from within iOS . It's really annoying because I rarely sync my products , but I've gotten used to what days I have to check for new podcasts. You can subscribe in iTunes but you have to connect it everyday.

Updating podcasts

Try the free app Instacast. You can enter the podcasts you want and it will automatically update them.:)

Close recently-open apps, speed everything up.

Double click the home button to show recently used apps. Hold finger on an app till they tremble and show delete button. Delete them one at a time. This switches off program's running "in the background" and greatly increases speed. It also increases battery life (a bit).

Anyone know where my FaceTime icon went?

I might have deleted it, obviously I did indeed delete it and I can not seem to get it back. I see it's entry in notification center but it's settings don't help me put icon back on home screen. I thought that the " badge icon " switch would do it but did not. Looked through iTunes for curiosity but nothing to indicate help to find it there.
Don't ask why I deleted it. Long story but I want it back on new iPad. However , I will be going Friday afternoon to replace this device due to the periodic wifi glitch...
Anyone?

Silly me. It's enabler switch was hiding in restrictions.

Not a software trick or anything but I got a tip... Put a few strips of electrical tape on the back if you are waiting for your case to be delivered... That black rubber apple does scratch if you set it down and pick it up a few times.

That's a reasonable tip. I'm sure the "Apple " does take scratching if you rub it against surfaces. Thanks. I have a case but in the event your waiting for one this is not bad advice. However, I would use blue painters paper tape or masking tape not to get things too sticky with the addition of a little heat.

Take a quick snap shot by pressing home button and sleep / wake- power button simultaneously. This works always. Even in FaceTime to get a pic of who your chatting with.

With the iPad you don't need to double click the home button, all you have to do is swipe up with 4 fingers and it will show you the apps that are open :)

Yes it works. I use it all the time...

hi all,

I think you can now edit any iTunes playlist within the iPod app. The iPad is pretty good about correcting didnt to didn't...just don't type the ' and it will put it in for you.

Have fun!

I somehow managed to put the YouTube app in the newsstand folder and now I can't get it out. Anybody know how I can fix this?

Edit: Never mind, I figured out a way to get it out! This can be my tip for this topic: all you have to do is plug your iPad into a computer, go to iTunes, and then manually remove it the folder.
