I have recently converted a long time Android user to a 13 mini because they wanted a small phone :)

Will be keeping mine for at least another year and see what the 15 Pro brings to the table. Doesn't feel lacking in anyway that I want to change and using it naked is just too good. Will wait for a big design/improvement change, or maybe Apple with make a flip phone worth buying..

Though, I still rate the SE1 in rose gold as my favorite.

Did your friend not consider the Asus Zenphone 9? That is an amazing phone if one is willing to use Android (its almost stock Android which is fine). Sorry I know this thread is about the 13 mini that we all love, but we all like smaller phones as well in general.

The Zenfone 9 is significantly larger than the mini, larger even than the iPhone 6/7/8/SE2+, and as tall as the regular iPhone 13. See here to compare: https://www.phonearena.com/phones/s...Apple-iPhone-SE-2022/phones/11980,11637,11828

So from people who actually have used one for 12 months rather than 2 weeks…. How has the battery held up?

Seriously considering a 13 mini when the 14 drops (price cut) but not if the battery is as bad as the 2020 se.

Less keen on a bigger phone as it won’t fit in the console of my car.

I've had my 13 mini for exactly a year and my battery is at 89% capacity. I don't baby it when it comes to charging and charge it overnight (usually end the day at around 10%-20%). I would also say I'm a moderate to heavy user and listen to multiple podcasts a day and spend a fair amount of time browsing social media/safari. The 13 mini battery life works for me.

Six months for me. Still at 100% capacity. Very light user, since I also have two iPads that I prefer for video and web browsing. Basically just use the 13 Mini as a phone and for podcasts while walking.

Launch day, 99% health. Only used the Belkin 3-1 or MagSafe puck in the car. Left on charge over night most of the time, don't follow any charge routine, just use the phone and charge when ever.

Phone easily gets me through the day for my usage without needing a top up. While working a warehouse job, I'd finish the day with 40% or more. When doom scrolling heavily throughout the day, I would get down to 15-20%.

Battery life is a noticeable upgrade from when I had the 12 mini. The 12 Pro was a beast for my usage, and I think the 13 mini sits somewhere in between.

Is that DP taken at a Trakdayz event?

Hahaha a $ 99 premium for the iPhone 14 Plus. Can't people understand larger should be cheaper?! It's more technically difficult to miniaturise components so the iPhone 13 Mini is a great bargain.

That just means it will stick around for a while to cover all the warranty exchanges, so the 13 mini will be around for atleast 5 years from now in some form be it refurishbed or sold by carriers.

About a month ago, it dropped from 99% to 93%, and dropped another percent just this last week. A conspiracy theorist would say that Apple is trying to get me to update my phone to the 14, but joke's on them. Since there's no 14 mini I'm going to get it replaced this week.

In terms of real world use, even going from 100% to 92%, I can't tell.

Mini lovers, rejoice! It looks like Apple will continue selling 13 mini for 599$. ✌️ Confirmed, iPhone 13 mini goes on!
Yup, going to pick one up today.

The 14 looks nice, but as above i prefer the mini size and it dropped $200 AUD overnight. That's the trigger i was waiting for.

Realistically the only benefit the 14 of any description would give me personally is the battery life (i don't make heavy use of the camera, SOS via satellite, etc.) so whilst i "get it" for people who care about those things - personally i don't; i simply don't use them. The 13 mini will be a huge upgrade in those areas for me already.

For real the red iPhone 13 Mini is easily my favorite iPhone ever. Gorgeous device and so pocketable. It’s hard deciding where to go from here. The software designer in me needs to get hands on the Island nonsense so Pro is happening… but fuuuuu, I love my Mini so much…

Do you guys think Apple will create 3 separate iPhone lineup with their own upgrade paths, like the iPad?

In the past, Apple only release one new iPhone, and the older ones get relegated for the lower price tier. Now with the 14, Apple already segregated the regular and pro iPhone, with the latter getting the latest is akin to the iPad strategy, with the Pro lineup gets the best chip first.

So what if Apple ended up setting the iPhone like the iPad? The SE follows its own upgrade path, then maybe the mini is separate, then there’s the regular iPhone and Pro.

Lucky you, guys! In France 13 mini was selling for 809€ before the event and for… [drumbeat] 809€ after the event, so ZERO price decrease. In Germany it dropped down by 10€ (!), so sells for 799€ now. Go figure, France and some other Western European countries must have really p***** Apple off somehow. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Here in france the apple site had the mini for 809 euros before the 14 event, and it's still 809 euros...

think I'm gonna buy one anyway...

Yep, I was rubbing my eyes and refreshing the page once the event was over to make sure it was not my perception mistake. 🤷🏻‍♂️

If you buy it from Apple directly you can get a 24 months 0% interest credit from Alma. If you are close to the Swiss border, you could also pick it up there, where it now sells for comfortable 699 CHF = 715€. ✋
