I will admit my experience is with skinned and carrier-bloated devices so I cannot speak for the Nexus 5. I would imagine a stock android phone would probably deliver a more desirable experience for me however that wasn't an option. (I am on VZW)

I agree with Jr Swizzle though, when you purchase a device this large you make a conscious decision to forgo one handed use. Personally, I don't care as I have large hands.

Samsung Galaxy Note 4 actually looks better to me than the iPhone 6 Plus. If you really think about it, the iPhone 6/6 Plus could be really the worst looking iPhones ever. I like the rounded edges and thinness which should balance out the wasted space for bezels. But I find the rear to be the worst ever. Yes, even worse than 5c which wasn't trying to be premium to begin with. But whatever it looks like, people might still prefer actual productivity over design. And services and ecosystem is probably what counts more to Apple these days. These ugly iPhones should still sellout like crazy.

The only phablet screen sized smartphones I'm interested right now is between the LG G3 and OnePlus One. Both look better and are much shorter. They have better screen/bezel ratio and better value. The Sony Xperia Z3/Z3C are both on my radar as well. Either size because both are manageable with one-hand.

You can find issues on just about anything. In most cases it's a matter of "issues" arising when a product is first released. Common with anything until people begin to learn the features and how to get the most out of the product.

Not really much in the way of "tricks". Honestly, I don't know why Samsung doesn't just offer the animations off as options to begin with. IMO such a thing is really just customizing your phone for your use. At least with their phones you can do these types of modifications without much effort and no repercussions. iPhones need to be jailbroken which is a lot more difficult and involved.

I owned it for about 3 months and it was a complete piece of garbage. I ran back to Apple and the 5S.

Haven't read through all the comments since. The one handed use isn't ideal, but it certainly helps when you really can't use 2 hands

Or from users trying to compare their 5s to the 6+. Holding and tapping the 5s home button is a lot different than holding a 6+ and tapping that home button one handed. They also thing it's going to be easy to reach to the left or right of their screen with one thumb.

It's funny that Apple has never had a big phone and here are Apple users telling Note users why Apple's implementation is better.
We use this "iPad phone" all day and think we have a better grasp at what works.
