Yea my 8 Plus works fine in my 7 Plus saddle brown case. It’s worked in every 7 Plus case I’ve tried so far.

Yeah it fits, but the bottom corners of mine rubbed a bit putting it on so they are a bit scuffed. Trying the new case in the Apple store it was a better fit, they must be ever so slightly thicker.

I bought the Simpeak Soft TPU Transparent Protective Clear case, however the Lightning port hole is slightly offset, which causes issues when trying to plug it into my phone holder in the car.

I loved the Tech21 Evo Mesh case for my iPhone6, picked up the current Tech21 (sold at Apple) but not quite as enamored with it. It is stiffer and not quite as flexible and slightly slippery. Although I like it better than the Apple silicone case which seems less protective.

I have been a big tech 21 fan in the past. However, in recent years the bottom piece by the charging port has been too flimsy for me.

Actually going out later today to look for a case. I like the olive green (really gray) silicone but want a little more protection.

I was disappointed Thule now has the same flimsy bottom on their iPhone 7/7+ cases. I returned it.

We have a Thule on my wife’s 6+ and it’s great. Polycarbonate and rubber combo on the bottom. Survived one heck of a drop the other day too.

Really? I was exited thinking it would look more purpleish

Same case in sunlit window, other in normal room lighting.

Seems to be. I have my Lifeproof Fre from my 7+ on my 8+ now, fit perfectly, no issues so far. I don't plan to drop it in water, swim with it, etc. it's just one of the slimmer (vs Ottrebox) cases that protect it very well which I need since I work outdoors and get sweat and all kinds of stuff all over the screen. Hopefully Lifeproof will just admit they're compatible since it seems so far they are.

Being a waterproof case company, LifeProof is super cautious about saying that cases for one model of phone will fit a subsequent model. They don't take anyone's word for it--they test the cases with the new phones once they come out. Little differences can really matter for waterproofness. For the LifeProof NUUD, they ended up have a different version for the 6s Plus as compared to the iPhone 6 Plus, although the FRE for those models stayed the same (having no screen protector, tolerances for the NUUD were much tighter than for the FRE). Anyway, I'm sure LifeProof is busy testing things now and will come out with their pronouncement soon. I'd guess that the FRE from the 7 Plus would fit, but we'll see! Anyway, I'm curious about the new NEXT product--it looks really interesting...

I got the white silicone case for my Space Gray 8+, and while I think it looks great I feel like it’s a bit slippery, especially since this is my first plus-sized phone and I still feel a bit clumsy handling it. I also feel like it won’t help much in case of a drop or impact.

Any recommendations for “grippier” cases?

Anyone know if the 7+ and 8+ have the same front for screen protectors?? I'm looking to get one for my 8+ but they're all 7+ that I can find. Are they the same? And are the cases the same too?

Apple fitted the Belkin glass screen protector for the 7+ for me on my new 8+ and it’s a perfect fit. So I’d say yep, exactly the same.

Can’t comment on cases, as I upgraded from a 7 to an 8+

Anker has a new case called Karapax Shield+. I might check this one out.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B073S5S33W/

Found this coupon code for 50% off, KRPXCSPD. If you have Prime, about $8 bucks shipped. Not bad at all. :)

Check out this drop test video:
I decided to give this one a try for $8 shipped.

Can never have enough cases, right? :D

I tried their Karapax breeze. It was ok. Held a lot of finger prints and the frame was not always tight to the phone. A little disappointing.

Interesting. Was looking at that one, but the drop test convinced me to give this one a try.

Thanks for the info!

I've always gone straight to the PowerSupport clear AirJacket and never looked back, and never been let down.

But, it looks like the glass back on the 8 is going to cause problems with crystal clear cases, and PS doesn't develop their cases until launch day when they have actual phones on hand, so there's usually a 1-2 month lag (but always worth it).

So I just ordered a silver (basically frost/translucent) Peel case in the meantime until I see what PS does for the 8 and if they come up with a solution for clear cases. Might end up with a Frost AirJacket for the 8 if the clear problem can't be solved. I'll see how the Peel goes though, looks good from what I've seen.

I forgot how grimy a glass back can be.

I generally do not use cases or screen protectors. I am however considering the Apple leather case. I’m worried that it will make the phone too bulky, but I remember liking it when I had my iPhone 6 a few years ago, though after a few months I took it off and just use the phone caseless

This may seem like a stupid question but how are the Apple leather cases as far as getting them wet? Got an 8 and it’s my first waterproof phone so I’m new to the whole thing. I did get a product red leather case for it and I absolutely love the red on a black phone but im concerned about getting the case wet.

Thinking of either getting a silicone case in addition to the leather one, or replacing the leather one with the silicone one.

What are people’s experiences with the Apple Leather Cases and water?

Leather cases can stain or change colour from being wet, leather in general scratches and changes colours from hand sweet very easy

But I love my saddle brown leather case on my iPhone 7 plus
