The silicone one is SO much better. Much grippier, and doesn’t wear out.

I can't take a picture at the moment but I can assure you the silicone does wear out. The top corner opposite the camera and more than half lower corner of the camera side mostly just along the edge has either worn or peeled away revealing the plastic. I've had this case on my 6 Plus for 2 years or so, so it's a long life but they do wear and not at all in an attractive way.

I ordered the symmetry clear otter box case from the vzw app, feels nice on my 6s lol. Can’t wait to put the 8 in it. Also ordered the Baseus ultra clear slim premium hybrid on amazon.

Agree with this one. Mine started to wear out too and got broken on the bottom part, I had no idea how since I've only used t for a month.

I need 15 hours per day. I have a 5000mah case that can handle this for my 6s. Question is, will these cases fit the 8? Screen protectors look like they are carrying over. There is at least one 3000mah case on Amazon now for the 8 that charges wirelessly (case and phone), so that's got to be the best one so far. I can't believe I used Apple's battery case for so long, so many better and cheaper 3rd party.

First time getting a space grey/black iPhone. Previous phones were silver. I think my phone would look oh so sexy in it!

I bought 3 other cases for my 7+ before I got the one you posted and I haven't changed it out since. Very very nice feel on the phone. I'm just a tad worried since the 8+ is ever so slightly bigger. It's already a tight fit on the 7+.

Nomad has 'slate gray' leather and leather wallet (2 card slots) cases for the 7/7+/8/8+ on sale for $19.99. Usually $40/50 respectively.

Apparently, they are a quality alternative to (and sometimes praised more highly than) the Apple Leather.

I'm hoping that my Lifeproof Fre from my 7+ will work with the 8+, Lifeproof says that it will not, yet it seems almost every other case for the 7+ will work for the 8+. Lifeproof says it may work but may not guarantee it to be waterproof. T-Mobile somehow has the Fre on their website and it says it's for 7+/8+ but Lifeproof says that is also incorrect as they don't even have them for sale themselves.

I'm sure in the end they just want people to blow more money on their cases, only reason I got one was because I got tired of OtterBox and was able to price match Amazon at Best Buy on the Lifeproof and got it for 20 bucks.. hoping it will work with my 8+.

I REALLY like the look of the official dark aubergine leather case. Aubergine is my favourite colour and I think it'll look great with the new gold phone. But I've never spent that kind of money on a case before!

I’m very intrigued by this one!! I would like to see it at the Apple store. My favorite color is purple so I’m between the aubergine(love the leather cases) or the ultra violet. For now I’m staying with my black leather case until I’ve more money lol

I cannot find a case I want for the space grey 8+ I have coming Friday. I've had a 6 for three years now and I have had a Speck Candy Shell Grip on it the entire time and it's been a great case. White w/black rubber. White stayed perfectly clean, minor scratches are barely visible. Rubber stayed intact, and it being black, never got dirty. Easy to hold. It did get some cracks around the bottom port holes but never enough for any pieces to break off, and granted I did fiddle with it a lot and it's been three years....and they replaced the Candy Shell Grip with something else that doesn't look as nice.

I just cannot find a case that is comparable in grip + slim form factor + looks neat + also not too gendered either way (feel like so many cases I am seeing are very MANLY carbon fiber-y or pink...bleh). I am being picky but I also hate buying too many cases.

I loved this same case on my 6 plus! I had the white with pale blue grips. When I got my 7 plus I was dismayed to find they had replaced the CSG with the new Presidio grip. I did order one, but the plastic on it was slippery and it was uncomfortable to hold--especially around the bottom, where the cuts for the ports seemed to be kind of sharp. I agree it just didn't look as nice when I saw it in person, too. I returned it to Best Buy almost right away.

One night I was wandering around in a Sam's Club and was happily surprised to see a couple of the CSGs for 7 plus! They were not the colors I would've wanted (the gray and neon orange), but I got curious and searched for them on Amazon. Speck does still make them to fit the 7 plus. It seems like they only enlarged the camera cutout on the 6 plus version to accommodate, but around the bottom there's still space for a headphone jack the iPhones no longer have. It hasn't bothered me at all, though, still the same great case! I have had it on my 7 plus since last October and still love it. I see the b&w one is temporarily out of stock on Amazon, but they might get more soon. I'm also going with LifeProof ... But I'll be taking my chances on the NEXT.

Seems to be. I have my Lifeproof Fre from my 7+ on my 8+ now, fit perfectly, no issues so far. I don't plan to drop it in water, swim with it, etc. it's just one of the slimmer (vs Ottrebox) cases that protect it very well which I need since I work outdoors and get sweat and all kinds of stuff all over the screen. Hopefully Lifeproof will just admit they're compatible since it seems so far they are.

I like the Apple silicone..

Only issue for me is that after not too long the finish wears off and takes on a shiny/slippery look and feel. Kind of annoying.

Wondering (to anyone who has had both) if the Apple leather might hold up a bit better over time? I know they develop a patina, etc - but maybe just age better than the silicone in general?

I’m curious how the 7plus and 8 plus both fit as the 8 plus is thicker due to the glass. Especially the Apple cases which are already snug. I have a couple nice Evutec cases for my 7 plus that are also perfectly fitted. Not sure how they’ll fit the new dimensions.

Yes indeed I'm also wondering about this.

The case I use the most on my 7 plus is the Evutec Karbon Aergo, I ultilize the magnet holder when in my car. So ideally I'd just like to use this same case again.
However I don't want to damage the glass back on my 8 plus(should arrive on Mon)

I can tell you that I had a hard time getting my 8+ into my black Apple silicone. Had to pry the bottom ‘tabs’ over the bottom corners of the phone using a pen. Before that, could only get the phone to crush the ‘tabs’ downward.
