Yeah that's precisely what mines doing now... optimizing 3000 some photos. I've got the fans at 6000rpms and the temp according to SMC is 77º. It'll be okay, I was just surprised.

I know, there's one particular website that does it all the time. I can't stand it. But no, it's just the mac optimizing pics.

Finally got some time with the 3G and the Wifi together.

The 3G is a hair heavier, but not much. I signed up for cellular data over wifi with no problems. I do not have 3G where I live but the ipad pulled up the EDGE network with no problems at all. That's very good to know when I'm traveling through parts of my (work) territory where there is no 3G.

Syncing the ipad wifi data over to the 3G was easy. I just did a full sync on the wifi ipad and then installed the 3G ipad using that profile. All data within apps like documents in iWork and Readdledocs transfered over without issue. The same goes for iBooks.

Heading out to see a client in an hour and will report back my 3G speeds.

I signed up for the 250MB monthly plan from AT&T. Synced my email accounts no problem. Now I get a pop-up error saying that I'm out of data on my plan, that it's been used up. :( I literally have done NOTHING more with my iPad than sync mail and calendars over 3G.

Cellular Network data says: Sent - 209kb / Received - 1.4 MB

Whenever I view my account in the cellular data settings it says I've used 0 of 250 MB. So I'm not "out of data." Anyone else seeing that?

Few questions if anyone doesn't mind answering them.

Can you turn 3G off? Can you turn Location Services off? Can you have Location services on while 3G is off?

Last of all, how is the battery with everything on?
 
Since I've posted on here earlier asking if someone knew something about using US sold iPads 3G with other carrier's micro-SIM, it would comes in handy knowing that they're definitely not locked.

I activated the unlimited data plan over 3G with no problem. I was glad to see that it's a flat 29.99, no taxes!

I've only been using it for around three hours and I've already used 115 mb! No way would 250 mb suffice.

I was upset to see that abc does not allow you to stream video over 3G yet. Hopefully that changes soon. YouTube also forces you to view videos at a low quality. However, web pages load up surprisingly fast... Much faster than the iPhone does on 3G.

I have one dead pixel... But other than that I'm very happy.

Oh yeah.. After 3 hours I'm still at 80% battery life. Constant 3G use, video, games, etc.

Got one without any line waiting at my university's bookstore. There were only 5 of us there, but I think we bought all 5 16 GB units. :cool:

Now what to name it on iTunes... When I had it for a week I named my Wifi iPad Basilisk.
