Got mine earlier. I like it. I'm terrified of using it without a case or screen protector, both of which come on Monday. Too bad I'm out of town till Wednesday. My fingers are crossed that no scratches or drops happen. Is the screen relatively resistant to scratches? I have had all the iPhones but have always gotten a screen protector the same day, so I don't really know the durability of Apple's glass.

I have a Kindle DX which I like a lot and thought I'd take a picture comparing the two. Kindle vs Kindle for iPad. I like the Kindle maybe a little more for books. The clarity is great as well as not being backlit. However, the speed of the iPad is much nicer.

Can i ask one question that's REALLY BUGGING ME!

When you take out the AT&T sim card and then go into the setting section where you activate 3G, does it still come up with the AT&T plans or is it just blank?

:confused::confused::confused:

^ Never had a Kindle, but I can see the benefit from that pic. Plenty happy with the iPad though, don't need a "real" eReader bad enough.

Only had a short time with it so far (this is the first thing I've typed on it), but I absolutely love it so far! I love how fast it is and this may seem silly, but I love how much better HTML video on nytimes.con works than flash video on my computer.

The Kindle DX is good but definitely not worth the $489 I paid back in October for it. If it were around the $200-250 range then it might be a good option for some people. iPad wins though, obviously just on the eReader front though.

It arrived early, but I wasn't home. Once I got home, I spent 4 hours setting it up and adding apps. Now I'm finally about to play with it and probably add more apps. I'm only adding iPad apps.

1st impression -- eh, until I opened my photos and videos...holy cow! It's a keeper!!

I'll return with my .02 after actually opening the apps I downloaded, LOL!

i've spent most of the day since I got the iPad from FedEx at 3:15 pm synching and uploading apps, trying to delete my iphone apps that aren't made for the bigger iPad and noticing FaceBook looks fairly burry :( So far i love it! What freaked me out and made me laugh out loud was when I heard my phone ding that I received a text. After picking up the iPhone and checking the text I thought WOW my iPhone is SO SMALL!!! It seems abnormally small to me now! hahahahahahhahahaha!

I got mine around 4PM and have been playing with it ever since. I only synced apps and photos because I was too impatient to do music and video, I'll do that tonight. The first thing that really impressed me was the keyboard. I personally feel no need whatsoever to have a physical keyboard. Though admittedly I don't do all that much typing. I feel a little guilty, but I really think my MacBook Pro is going to be getting much, much less use now.

Few questions if anyone doesn't mind answering them.

Can you turn 3G off? Can you turn Location Services off? Can you have Location services on while 3G is off?

Last of all, how is the battery with everything on?

yes you can turn 3G off

yes you can disable location services

battery is exactly the same as the wifi my wife is using right next to me. we've both been surfing the web for a few hours and the batteries both read 91%.

Are you able to insert some other carrier's SIM (that is, a cut up SIM to mimick a micro-SIM) in order to see if it's unlocked?
I'd like to have one US iPad 3G for using in Italy, but US Apple's customer service told me US iPads are AT&T locked, which seems to me quite strange...

yes, Ipad 3g works fine on networks other than ATT, but you will need to cut your sim if your network does not offer micro-sim!
