Not a fan of his misinformation so I don't listen, however deplatforming generally just amps up their exposure, so just ignore it and let it fade into obscurity.

it will be a lot more effective to tackle misinformation in the media (looking at you faux news & daily mail).

I don't understand all the vitriol towards Rogan. I don't agree with everything he says or does, but silencing dissenting opinions isn't a good idea. It's a podcast, there are thousands if not millions of podcasts you could choose to listen to or not listen to.

As usual it’s because they’ve just heard what everyone else who hasn’t listened to it says, and chosen not to listen to it as well.

If people in this country (world) would just take the time to actually hear what the other person thinks before dismissing them outright, this country (world) would be a better place.

He doesn’t agree with everything his guests say either, and vice versa. He purposely invites people on who have different views so that they can have an honest discussion. He’s never told anyone to do anything. He advocates that people think for themselves. I don’t see what’s wrong with that.

He had Bernie Sanders on, for crying out loud. Why didn’t they choose that as the hero image instead of Elon Musk, I wonder?

Lol i can feel the soy oozing out of everyone commenting "hard pass" ""no thanks". Joe Rogan brings on people of all walks of life, and ways of thinking. Some i agree with and some I don't. People who don't like Rogan definitely haven't listened to a full podcast. He's extremely popular for a reason.

Hilarious responses here.

Goes to show his popularity far outweighs the small demographic that hunkers down in here afraid of a difference of opinion.

And yes. That's my difference of opinion.

I'm not saying you're wrong, but do you think a public figure with a huge platform should feel any responsibility about what he or she says or promotes?

Like even 0.0001% responsibility?

Or is it just a free for all no matter what consequences our actions have?

Not picking a fight, I'm genuinely curious.

Genuine question, have you ever listened to even one episode? There are thousands. Choose one with a guest you like, I can practically guarantee you will find at least one.

Yes, I have listened to it for about a year around 2017-2018. I don't like Joe Rogan's interview style, his voice, or the way he hosts. The guests might be fine, but as long as he is there talking, I don't care to tune in.

That and I almost 100% avoid any politics/hot-button issue podcasts anymore. I stick to mystery and comedy

I listened a lot around that time as well, and never listened to a single episode on Spotify. I’m not even sure he’s as good as he used to be. I just can’t imagine him actually “spreading hate and disinformation.” That sounds like straight up propaganda. I even saw his “apology” video about ivermectin (which a doctor actually prescribed me in the early days of covid (and before I heard him say anything about it, I had no idea what it was, she prescribed it to me, I didn’t ask for it) so I don’t know why everyone acts like it’s so insane to say that, even if it’s not effective. He’s not the only one that said it, many people with medical degrees said it.)

At least you aren’t just mindlessly repeating what other people have said. I agree with you about the politics thing too, so much manufactured controversy.

He’s very good at his job. Which makes it even more dangerous.
Kids come for good interviews with rockstars and actors, the next week there’s a neofascist, a climate change denialist, an antivax, some other conspiracist.
All in the name of “listening to both sides”. So if someone is pro-child-molesting, should we broadcast their opinion or can we draw a line somewhere?
Joe Rogans opinions on polarizing topics like Covid and wokeness are a tad different than being pro child molesting. This is a bit over the top.

Yes. Do you genuinely think he doesn’t feel even a ten thousandth of a percent of responsibility?

He was one of the first podcasts I ever heard where whenever a question about something came up, he didn’t sit there and speculate. He googled it live and tried to sort out what was true. I don’t recall him ever advocating anyone do anything out of hate or ignorance. Quite the opposite, in fact.

We call these Strawman arguments, with a bit of “won’t someone please think of the children?” sprinkled in.

You made up a bunch of things that didn’t happen and disagreed with those, then you implied he might be pro child molesting. Who’s spreading hate and disinformation now?

Some people are worth dismissing outright, though. Don't waste your life listening to their rancid opinions.

Ahahaha I wouldn’t consider any time I spent listening to him a waste or a rancid opinion. Just listen to the one with Bernie Sanders or thousands of others where he has open conversations with people. I mean he grew up in California and his parents’ best friends they hung out with all the time were a gay couple. He doesn’t judge or hate anyone. He doesn’t give medical or legal advice.

I’m genuinely curious what everyone is so upset about.
