I have used the Seidio Surface case with the Belt clip Holster since the Note 4 days. This year I ordered the Seidio Dilex Lux with the belt clip holster I was able to get a free screen protector ordering from their site. Once it comes in I will buy the 11 Max Pro. I am still trying to figure out if I want the Silver or Midnight Green color.

Had been using the biguest version of the iphone for several years but with the XS Max, I developed pain in the palm and thumb of my left hand texting. Couldn‘t figure out why. Thought I’d try a smaller phone this time around and got the 11pro. Fits better in the pocket of my jeans and the pain in my thumb is significantly reduced, although I can’t figure out exactly why. I carry an ipad mini for those times I want to consume media. 11 pro is perfect for me.

I agree, but my main usage is phone calls, text and reading email at work. If I have to write a lot of text I have my PC's keyboard synced to my phone so I can just text or reply from there. When at home I try to leave it on a shelf to spend time with the people around me.

The X or XS on sale would be a nice compromise, yes - but believe it or not: The 11 is a lot better equipped when it comes to camera compared to the X. Really surprising. Night-mode also works wonders.

The XR was a near perfect piece of hardware, I’m sure the 11 is great too. I buy my phones second hand, but the premium was still around 200 euros moving from XR to XS, worth it for the smaller size to me.

I pre-ordered the Pro Max with a lot of excitement, would have been my first Max size iPhone (coming from an iPhone X), got the Max on launch day, used it over the weekend but couldn't get used to the larger size, especially with an Apple silicone case on it, the max is impossible for me to use one handed. It simply was not practical for me. But without a case on it, the max's larger size looks and feels amazing! but I simply cannot use a glass phone without a case on it!

What made it even more apparent that the larger size was not practical for me was when I went to the supermarket to do the weekly shopping, I couldn't handle the 11 Pro Max iPhone with one hand and a basket in the other hand! Also the Max did not fit in my car's cup holder like the iphone X does lol! Enough was enough, I returned it for a refund and bought the 11 Pro instead and it feels great in the hand (no difference from the iphone X)! so I'm now a happy bunny again and have satisfied the urge of owning a Max size phone!

I love the bigger screen and the extra battery life, but carrying the phone around is uncomfortable and isn’t very practical. As a matter of fact, I have to buy new pants with deeper pockets because the ones I currently have now all make the iPhone stick out and end up jamming my hip when I sit down. How do you cope with larger phones when it comes to portability?
Your gripes are funny considering I had the same thoughts when I got a larger phone too. However, my pant pockets are already pretty roomy so no issue there.

Honestly, you just gotta get used to it. It's actually pretty nice having a large phone when you're playing the game "where did I leave my phone now?"

Day 2 of going from the XR to the 11 Pro. I do love the size of the 11P. When I read web pages, notes, etc. I don’t feel like I am giving up anything... scrolling is easy. The larger stock text (Safari) on the 11P, while a small difference, is helpful.

What I have noticed is when I take a picture (camera is a main buying point for me) with the 11P I look at the image and think.. look at that little thing.. Being able to zoom in at crazy levels and edit is nice.. you can edit with the image zoomed across the whole screen. This helps ‘bridge the gap’ a bit. There are the other little things like the lack of landscape mode. I track my workouts by week and the ‘landscape’ mode of the non-Plus phones doesn’t give you that quick week view.

I am happy with the battery life of the 11P. Off the charger today at 7:30. It’s now 2:30 and I am at 78%. Light to medium usage today.

I am in no rush but I am not 100% I am staying with the small screen. If I go bigger it will actually be the 11PM. The ‘unwieldy’ level is so close that I would go with the battery life, bigger screen and I love the warmer OLED display. One thing that I am considering is that if I went with the 11PM I would just use my AW (cellular) more for those hybrid short times.

The title of this thread is so true.. joy and agony.. joy in Lightroom, reviewing photos, maps, landscape.. but a brick in the hand.. and pockets.

I’m willing to put up with the ungodly weight gain of the 11 Max Pro over my old XS just for the screen real estate.

Not ideal. Apple should use light weight plastic rather than rock solid metal lol. Plastic can be beautiful too though... remember those bright coloured Nokia’s? They were beautiful.

True true.Or maybe other lighter weight metals like titanium.

I've been using a Plus sized phone exclusively for 4 years, though I own an older smaller phone too. I was just given a newer normal sized phone that's two generations newer than my old plus phone, but I prefer using my old big phone on the older OS over the newer phone on iOS 13.1 even though the old phone is way slower and has less ram. Big Screen trumps all (in my opinion).
If I had to choose... I'd choose my old plus phone over a brand new iPhone 11 Pro - cuz of screen size

It's something you get use to eventually.

When I moved from the 6 to 6s plus, I also questioned whether a phone of that size will be manageable, it was and I quickly grew to really enjoy the larger screen. In fact, when I'd look at the 4.7" screen, I really was surprised how I even managed to use that lol.

After the X came out and I moved to that, the smaller screen (less width) also felt like I'm missing something after using the plus sizes for a couple of years.

I just got my pro max and this again feels like a huge device after the X but I getting use it and appreciate looking at content on the larger screen size, not to mention the amazing battery life!

I’m female so I carry a purse, but honestly most of the time my Max phone is in my front pocket. For the ones that say the phone doesn’t fit, is it front or back pocket?

Last year I started with the Max, then went to the XS after a few months (I felt the Max was too big). And now I’m back with the Pro Max.

Sure, there are trade offs, but the screen and battery life ... we will see how it goes.

yeah I love the larger iPhone also. I usually keep mine in my left shirt pocket while at work. You could always get one of those Velcro pouches and clip it to your belt or pants. I know they might make you look older, because I see many older generation use them. The otter box defender with clip is a good alternative. But those are bulky and the plastic shell eventually scratches the phone. So... different pants I suppose. I use the otterbox commuter case on my 11 pro max.

iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 6S Plus, iPhone 7 Plus... they’ve always lured me to the big phone with things like the better camera. Used an iPhone X and was fine with that size... jumped on the Max wagon with the XS Max... never had a problem with fitting in my hand or my pocket or anything...

But wow. The 11 Pro Max I picked up yesterday feels like a brick. Definitely noticing that weight bump, though I’m sure I’ll enjoy the battery life. Now this thread has me questioning whether I should have gone regular 11 Pro :p

I love my plus sized phones. I carry two of them in my pocket every day. I’m also 6 ‘ 5” and a former NCAA athlete that played on the line.

Never had an issue with the size or weight. It works for me. What works for you may very well be different.

I’ve always been big phones and am trying the 11 Pro. My only gripe is I’m used to bigger pictures/images to edit. Maybe I do more on the iPad. Battery life is crazy. Off charger at 7:30 AM, almost 6 hours of on-screen. It’s 11:55 PM and I have 39% remaining. That’s nuts. I want the screen of the 11PM but don’t want to carry it.

One of my favorite things about the big phones is that, while I’ve acclimated to how they look in my hand and in daily use (it seems “normal” size to me)— whenever I see someone else with one, I think GOOOOO that phone is huge! Oh wait... 😂

Sometimes I think maybe I’d go even smaller than the 11 Pro and just use an iPad even more, but I’ve just been a bit obsessed with iPads recently. But the truth is, they just don’t go as many places as conveniently.

Swapped my pro for the pro max last night, I’m on the IUP and it was a pretty easy process.

The pro was so easy to use and carry but the screen just felt narrow, both have compromises but at I think screen size trumps portability. Not going to lie though, the max is heavy!

Same for me. Size is not a problem but I feel it heavy in my hand during long usage.
I'm hesitating to return it for a regular Pro one.

Same with the regular 11... it doesn't feel right in hands; it´s "ok" in pockets and that, but the feeling on hands is not right like is the iphone 8 for example.
