Hey, i am also considering buying the white version but i have to ask if the white color will get yellowish after some time ?
I'd like to know too, but considering the white iPhone 4 users haven't been using it for a very long time...
Personal preference aside, you never go wrong with black. Black is elegant and goes with anything.
For me the opposite has been true. Have the 4 in black, wife has white. My black shows fingerprints and blotches much more than her white. Actually, it is almost impossible to see fingerprints on the white.
If you put it this way, the very design of the iPhone 4 is quite sexy sleek and almost feminine, like a audi TT.
So in this case I prefer white as it does not matter if its black or white, seeing that the whole itself is too sexy to be macho.
I have an iPad 2 White and its perfect in that colour.
Besides who wants a manly looking phone, somehow the nokia 52 something with rubber casing comes to mind....shudder.

Whether an item of clothing or an accessory looks feminine or masculine on a particular person depends on that person. So, the easy way out on this is which iPhone looks good on you? Go to the retailer and hold them both up in turn and get your friend (get one to tag along) and take a pic and then compare.
I used to think that certain colors, shapes would look effeminate on myself and avoided them, whereas in many cases I found they made me look younger, trendier or sporty! Interestingly, those items I considered to be 'manly' (on me) were either neutral or had the opposite effect!!

I agree the white looks better when it's on and the black when it's off...
But that's why I got white. When it's off it's in my pocket, so what does it matter what it looks like?

I'm a male and I don't have an iPhone (I have last year's Epic 4G), but I'd seriously consider getting a white iPhone. My iPod Touch is black and almost all of the smart phones I have ever owned have been black, so I'd consider getting the white iPhone 4S just because it way different than what I have had before.
And I think white and black are gender neutral. White iPods, white Apple earbuds, etc. Nowadays, I see a lot of MEN wearing the white Beats by Dre headphones. I personally don't like how they sound, but they're sleek, stylish, and look clean.

Yea I agree, Its a matter of preference, to think you can infer sexual preference from it though is crazy.

I can't see a finger prints on mine at all; white. It's glass on a white paint, so the white is going to be brighter than the oil, therefore it won't show up.
For the screen, you have to turn it off and look at it under light to see the prints.
Im male and I would choose white for the iphone 4s. Altough I do not plan on buying one, I think the white one is really sexy, it looks white chocolate! It matches perfectly the alluminium bar, better than black...black looks old...White is not girly

Btw, a lot of girls wear black head to toe when going out, if not most. Does that make black girly? no...

Some people say that black is better for watching movies or playing games (think the black perimeter around the MBP screen). It's less distracting. For reading ebooks or (white) websites, the white seems better. Less glare and less contrast is probably easier on the eyes.
