thats my main issue, is pocketabiltiy, hiking, traveling for work etc.
0 issues. I wear size XXS, my jeans are size 23, the smallest possible in women's sizes. MP fits a back pocket no problem.
It also fits into the pockets of my cycling jerseys and side pockets of my running tights.

But yes, it would not fit the front pocket of jeans.

I used the Pro size for a long time. THe Max to me does make a large difference. ESpecially consuming anything video related. Or even image related. To me it made a justified difference. The Pro size felt too tiny and small after I had adjusted to the max sized phone.

?? You are not thinking. Larger display is easier to see/read, period. Fonts can be larger, the same image on a larger display is easier to see, image editing is easier, etc.

P.S. Study up on vision. Not all loss of vision is correctable by glasses. I am finding that out the hard way...

The font can be made bigger on any device. I have a coworker with a 13 mini and his text is blown up to like 1/2in.

When I saw the YouTube video of the battery life tests, I was shocked to see that the battery life alone is 2.5+ hours longer (Mr. Whosetheboss video for example), which had 9hr 20 min for the 15 pro and 11hr and 40min for the pro max.

The size increase benefit has never made sense to me (for me). I find that no matter the screen size on a phone, I still use it the same way, and for the same duration. Thus, for the increase in size, all I get is increased bulk.

I get that some people spend a fair amount of time on their phones, but for me, if it is more than a couple minutes, I turn to the iPad or Mac. I just do not find phones useful for more than quick checks or replies.

(but I do find it comical to watch people use a phone for things like ApplePay, always thinking 'how is heaving out a brick to pay more convenient?', but then again, my wallet is 1/4 the size of those bricks, plus I have GarminPay if going sans wallet).

The whole point. It's how you use your phone.
I use mine for everything, including Apple Pay. When I am out cycling I do not want to drag a wallet as well. In all honesty, having phone as a means of paying is one of the highlights of that technology.
I also spend a fair amount of time after work working as a cab driver for two children and their afterschool activities. I do not carry an iPad and a laptop, just the phone.
I think that people who work outside of home, have children, and generally spend a lot of time away from home - phone is way more than just a phone.

But, serious question: Does the Max actually offer more screen real estate or not, or does it just show exactly the same screen layout as the Pro, only bigger? The Max does have a higher screen resolution after all. Especially for web browsing, this should result in more text visible on screen?
Its both. The pixel gains on the Max results in more phone height than width (2556‑by‑1179 vs 2796‑by‑1290) which makes the Max experience a slightly scaled up version of the Pro with roughly an additional line of text.

I went to reading glasses this year so I assumed that getting the bigger phone would help out, but in the end I didn't find the visual size difference to be noticeable enough to justify the physical size/weight difference. I went back to the Pro and the only thing I miss from the Max has been a more comfortable keyboard (And speaking of keyboards, I'd much rather have a dedicated number row over an extra line of website text.)

You say "I do find it comical to watch people use a phone for things like ApplePay, always thinking 'how is heaving out a brick to pay more convenient?'"

The answer(s):
1) Use of ApplePay means that your credit card info is not available to steal via an instant clone. ApplePay simply delivers a token representing the item purchased; no cc info. This is a huge security value add over handing your CC to a low-paid worker or pushing your cc into someone's reader.
2) Use of ApplePay on a modern reader typically is much faster than pushing your cc into someone's reader in my experience.
3) Unless a given retailer requires you to verify with secondary ID like a DL (most do not) anyone can use your CC if they have possession of it. ApplePay OTOH has already verified who you are via facial ID or whatever that iPhone's ID tech is.
4) I have never felt the iPhone to be a brick, including the 15 PM I use now. But I do not kludge up the iPhone with a case.

I agree completely... what I don't personally find valuable is the larger size, no matter how much use there is. To put it another way, I would not use the phone more or feel I had a better use experience if I had a larger phone.

Yes, agreed there is security benefits with Apple Pay... and with Garmin Pay (or others), which is why I use the watch for some payments. Yet still, I feel like the risk vs the irritation (again, completely my perspective) of hauling a phone out to pay vs the risk of skimming (which can be mitigated in other ways), just is not a value proposition for me. I think of it like this: there is always a minor risk I could get mugged going out, but I am not going to wear body armour to feel safer.

yes, based on rumors it WILL be the same.

space issue is in reality a supply issue. you'll see.

Based on rumours pro max will get super telephoto and pro will get the current 5x

So based on current rumours it won’t be the same and space isn’t a supply issue

There’s a reason the big phones are the ones to get the main zoom features it all comes down to space

Unfortunately not an option in Canada.
I am using it in Canada... it is just that the list of supported cards is very short. I had to get cards that worked with it since none of the mainstream banks support it.

Really?! Well, it’s ok. Too much work for me. Easier to carry a phone. 😂

Are you trying to justify your regular Pro purchase or something? You spamming this thread is hilarious, while you ignore people talking about how video watching is better, along with the better battery life and the extra telephoto range.
I think a lot of these troll threads/posts are really just people projecting their buyer's remorse on people and looking for confirmation bias from others who bought what they bought. It's incredibly silly.

I think this is true in most of these threads. They sit next to someone with a Max on a train or they use their friend’s one for a bit and they go “mmmhh”

With the ability to charge most anywhere now days, why are so many reluctant to charge? It makes no sense to me to carry around a luggage phone that can't be put in your pocket very easy most times, just so you have more battery, when battery isn't really the issue. I think people have gotten lazy.

Really? That’s your takeaway? what if you don’t have the ability to charge when you’re out in the city or something taking pictures? What if you forgot your charger? What if you you have long days?

Why charge twice in the same day which will absolutely harm the battery in the long term? Besides, the Max fits quite easily into my pockets.

The world doesn’t revolve around your requirements and no one is lazy (LMFAO) for wanting a phone with higher endurance.

Yeah exactly. I just can’t understand why it bothers people so much over what phone you have purchased for yourself.
