so the BF came out with some new info. There's been a change in plans regarding returns to get a different watch. Originally they were planning to just make you have to do a full return and reorder a new watch. But I guess someone pointed out that that they could end up burning a lot of functioning watches that way and that's a silly move.

So now they will let you exchange the band that came with your watch for another one. within rules.

1. has to be done via online if that's how you got the watch originally.

2. has to be for a combo that makes a full SKU. So like if you have a space grey sport and you don't want the black band you are screwed cause there are no other SGSport Skus. but if you have the silver and you got the white band but you want the blue, that's okay.

3. no band only swaps on the Edition.

What do you mean, "has to be done online?" Ordering a replacement band? How does that work if you're already in the store and just want to swap out the band?

And, to date, isn't online "how everyone got their WATCH originally" being the only way of getting it right now?

My daughter is getting the White Sport Band and wants to switch it to the Pink Sport Band. I was told, 'just come in and we'll swap out the bands on the spot.'

Can confirm that this is in fact true.

Bands will be returned online and swapped out through the online store, we will have nothing to do with it.

I'm just telling you what he was said. They were told it has to be done online.

By the time Friday comes around there might be another change in things. Maybe they are working on a software update to make band swaps in store possible. Mind you that doesn't mean that stores will have bands which might also be a factor in the whole thing.

The issue with swapping in store is sku/tax issues. Online purchases are subject to different tax rates etc complicating things for apple.

That's absolutely fine with me since I don't plan to get any of the other colors from the Apple's collection. When third party bands do show up, I may consider the white one.

From your article:

"There are other rules. The Apple Watch must be purchased within the last 14 days, and the new band that you choose has to be within the same collection as the Apple Watch you chose, which means no free Milanese Loop for your Apple Watch Sport. The Apple Watch must also have been purchased directly from Apple, either in-store, at a kiosk, or through the Apple Store app.

I would think that you can choose from the whole Sport line. I am going to try.

What if you decide to swap the Milanese for the black sport band? Do you get money back?

There is no "silver sports watch collection." There is a sports watch collection.
