If this comment was in reply to mine above your post, it applies to any phone. The exact same thing happens with my iPhone 5S with LTE enable.

Actually it's not an LTE thing really, it's just when you have low signal strength is has a dramatic effect on battery life. I switch my phones to 3G as I never see to get full strength LTE.

Thus why a phone should have a good enough battery to compensate for a problem that every phone will face. And battery life is an important factor as to why the phone should fit me, not me change to fit the phone.

What a surprise! Then we'll have to tolerate months of moaning about how bad the new Moto X is I suppose...

Oh no! How dare someone think critically of the device they spend hundreds of dollars on! Oh the agony!

I don't know what your problem is, but people who spends hundreds of dollars have the right to be critical of their device in areas it excels as well as areas the device falls short.

I would love for them to make it an iPhone like upgrade, keep the current form factor and just update the specs.

1080p
3gb Ram
S801. X10?

And more of the usual check boxes. I don't really think the screen needs to be bigger.

----------

I just hope Motorola continues adding unique features to it and doesn't try to get in the specs race. I like specs as much as the next guy, but the Moto X succeeded because it didn't try to shove massive specs everywhere and did something different.

Motorola can still do that without using 2012 flagship specs. I LOVE what they have done by keeping things simple, motomaker is excellent and their customer service is second to none and I hope they continue with that. But tossing in a newer snapdragon and another gig of ram to appease the spec heads and upgrade junkies wouldn't hurt as long as they keep their philosophy the same.

Sigh...another 'upgrade' to a giant phone (assuming these specs are true, of course). Looks like the days of high quality smaller, or now even mid-sized phones, are going the way of the Dodo. :(

Luckily the Moto X still suits my needs just fine and likely will for quite a while. I don't see needing to do anything on my phone that the X wouldn't handle. Phone calls, sports apps, texting, email and flappy bird only need so much.

This is what i am hoping for in the X+1. Just updated internals. the form factor (and software) is fantastic

You said you wanted 3 gb of RAM and then later said you hope they don't add another gig of RAM just to appease spec heads ha

The Moto X has a very small bottom bezel, the Nexus 5 has a huge bottom bezel. If Motorola can take the form factor of the Nexus 5 and shrink the bottom bezel to compensate for a slightly larger screen, that'd be awesome. That and put in a huge battery and AMOLED screen and I'll buy on day one.

Did anyone notice the subtext to the screen size: "touchscreen with at least 5 finger gesture support" as opposed to 6 finger or 7 figure support...

If accurate, I will not be buying the moto x+1 as the size is really a con rather than a pro.

Exactly. What is Motorola thinking. Don't they know humans have 5 fingers per hand?;)

The current 4.7" with its "small bezel" is still awkward in the pants pocket. They could improve on that design.

This current enlargement of phones is getting a bit excessive. I don't want to have to bring a bag with me just to carry my phone. Come on, projection technology!

My Nexus 5 feels fine in my pocket. So did my Moto X when I had it. I am just saying that it is possible to put a 5.2" screen in the body of the Nexus 5 if they decrease the bottom bezel, which is exactly what Motorola did with the X.

Google will undercut them with the Nexus 6, would be my guess. $400 unlocked is still a great price though for the X². Battery life should be similar to the X, which I can say is okay (not great) with roughly 3 hours of screen on time the way I use phones. Roughly a half hour less than my previous iPhone 5 use.

The Nexus 6 is rumoured to never happen now, with each new rumour pointing to the Android Silver program.

I meant comfortably. Most people aren't 6' tall.

I don't know what pants you wear. But with the pants I wear, uniform pants, BDUs and normal jeans I hardly ever notice it is there and I will often have to check to make sure its still in my pocket.

Then the iPhone 6 will cause a problem. Current leaks have it as being the tiniest bit taller than the Nexus 5, despite it having a smaller screen.

Jeans, but I use my front pocket. Perhaps you use your back? I had a bad experience putting my phone in my back pocket, so I avoid that now.

Yeah, that was really annoying. Smaller screen and bigger phone is not appealing at all.

All I hope for is better battery and a decent camera and I'm almost sold. Well, microSD would be nice too.

And it's not awkward when you are sitting? I find that take my phone out of my pockets every time because it is so uncomfortable. I'm sure people can cope with it though.

Nope. I never even notice it is there. I often have to check. I'm 6' 2" and 185-90 if that makes a difference.
