As long as it isn't yet another rounded plastic lump overloaded with bloatware...
You must have never used a recent Samsung product or actually played with a recent HTC device?
Sense is 10x more bloated than Touchwiz. Hell, Sense takes over native android multitasking.
Isn't that... small-ish? That's a little alarming for a phone pushing 460PPI and 1080i, no?
HTC... still being HTC...?
After the One X, I just have very little faith in their ability to 1) provide good battery life, and 2) update the OS.
Will never understand why OEMs release new phones (flagships especially) running older versions of Android.
4.1.2? Google has released three updates (including a full point release) since that version came out.
I wholeheartedly agree and I've come to expect that with HTC, which is why I've been root/roming since cupcake..
I have a super clean build of sense 4.1 jelly bean running flawlessly on my One X as we speak. I know most people don't care to get that technical with their phones but that's one of the main draws of android for me.
Yeah they promise 4.2 soon. But by the time it genuinely rolls out Google will be another 2 or three updates ahead.
Guess that's the allure for many of the nexus line.
Not really. 2300 mAh is a decent size battery. Of course the software will have a lot to do with what type of battery life it will get. At 2300 mAh, there's no reason it shouldn't get at least decent battery life. Of course, this is HTC we're talking about though so...Isn't that... small-ish? I refuse to buy an HTC phone for personal use until they demonstrate they can make a phone that is up to par. After the One X, I just have very little faith in their ability to 1) provide good battery life, and 2) update the OS.
For most people, it really doesn't matter. The good thing about where phones are now, is that despite them not having the latest version of Android, they are still quite serviceable. Whether the Note 2 has 4.2.2 or not, it is still a fantastic phone. This is true with most modern Android smartphones now. Also, the average person doesn't know (nor care) about Android versions and updates. It's typically people like us who keep up with that sort of thing.Yeah they promise 4.2 soon. But by the time it genuinely rolls out Google will be another 2 or three updates ahead.
Guess that's the allure for many of the nexus line.
I cant help but think that the measily 2390 mAh battery in this phone will give it terrible battery life. How is a battery like that going to power the 1080p screen, the faster processor and all these new things?
There's talks of the S4 and the Google X phone coming with a 3100 mAh battery to power their 1080p phones. The Droid DNA has pretty awful battery life too

Like you've ever used a Droid DNA.
Xperia Z is using similar sized battery and gets decent enough battery life and has similar CPU , GPU etc too.
No, but the countless reviews claiming that the battery life is terrible and my cousin complaining about his DNA battery is enough to determine that a measily 2100 mAh battery is not enough to power a 1080p screen along with LTE and bluetooth/wifi and a powerful quad core processor.
Thats why there is rumors of 3100 mAh being the new standard for 1080p screens

Maybe its the bloatware or other things on HTC... because the DNA does have a pretty awful battery life
