No, but the countless reviews claiming that the battery life is terrible and my cousin complaining about his DNA battery is enough to determine that a measily 2100 mAh battery is not enough to power a 1080p screen along with LTE and bluetooth/wifi and a powerful quad core processor.

Thats why there is rumors of 3100 mAh being the new standard for 1080p screens

Maybe its the bloatware or other things on HTC... because the DNA does have a pretty awful battery life

Having used the DNA, while the battery life isn't great, you can make it through a day with moderate usage. The battery isn't great though.

I have never before owned a phone (HTC One X) that had so much potential and disappointed me so badly. Left a real bad taste in my mouth, don't think I will go back to HTC.

Once it's in the devs hands it will only be a matter of time. Only bad thing with the Nexus line in my opinion is that you cant run a stable sense build on it. Though with HTC you can always find a stable stock rom.

Those stock roms never run exactly like the stock Nexus software, hence why I stick with Nexus phones.

pretty superb specs and features if you ask me....
i wouldnt get it though, dont have faith in HTC's ecosystem and support and I'm too entrenched in Apple's.....
but it would be nice if apple had HDR video and quad core 1.7ghz processors lol

Pre-orders now available...

Ok folks who are interested...

Clove.co.uk pre-order is up

As is Expansys

I just pre-ordered from Expansys the 32Gb Silver model :) and will cancel my order for the Xperia Z from the same.

The design looks fantastic. I don't care what it resembles. It is one good looking phone!

But HTC I wanted a good looking phone running ANDROID not whatever your phone is running. This may come as a shock to HTC but some people actually buy Android phones not just for the big screens but because they genuinely prefer Google's operating system. So covering it up like your Amazon selling a Fire isn't going to help you sell one...to me at least.

But of course we'll have to see what the market says.

Google I hope that you consider giving HTC another try at the Nexus. If I could have a Nexus that looked like that (with on screen buttons obviously) as long as the battery life wasn't horrible that would be an instant buy.

Isn't that... small-ish? That's a little alarming for a phone pushing 460PPI and 1080i, no?

HTC... still being HTC...?

After the One X, I just have very little faith in their ability to 1) provide good battery life, and 2) update the OS.

Exactly. Those two points make me forget the HTC One completely.

Besides, it will update to 4.2, not 5.0, so it's a worthless update for that phone.

And there are countless reviews of President Obama claiming he is the best president since Reagan. Refrain from making claims when you never used the device let alone have used it for weeks.

IPhone 5S and iOS 7 will have that...plus the iPhone 5 GPU is still going to be better then the GPU in the HTC One and the Galaxy S4( One has the Adreno 320 and the S4 is rumored to have a Adreno320)

terrible analogy and comparison...

From the benchmarks I've seen the Adreno 320 and the PowerVR SGX543MP3 in the iPhone 5 are roughly on par.

The iPhone is always going to be on par or better in performance without all of the latest hardware. The software is just better optimized.

You can shove a 8 core CPU and high end GPU into a Galaxy S4 and it will still lose against even the iPhone 5.

If HTC can get their ass into gear and start sending some updates down the pipes FAST than they may have something going. But when your entire lineup is on 4.1.1 or lower and your latest flagship is shipping with 4.1.2 there's some problems. I have major doubts this phone will see 5.0 which is a shame because it looks like a damn good phone. I'm a fan of the 4.7 inch screen.

That's quite a large exaggeration.

It's an interesting phone--but you're out of luck if you're a Verizon Wireless user--the new HTC One will only be available in the USA on AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile.

However, HTC did say that they are working a phone for Verizon Wirelsss, and it could be essentially an HTC One in a different case design but with better support for Verizon's CDMA and 3GPP LTE digital networks.

Just about, id say the MP3 in the iPhone 5 might have a slight edge in that department...there is rumors that the 5S will have the iPad 4 GPU, the SGX543mp4 version, which would probably keep the GPU crown to the iPhone once again..

It just occurred to me that perhaps this is because Verizon is the absolute WORST when it come to pushing out updates. Perhaps this is HTC starting fresh.

It's actually the two toned back that makes them both look like the iPhone.

Important question: Can you turn off BlinkView?

Or more specifically, can you make it wake to the typical Android home screen?

I've watch several Videos today and can't wait to get it. I sold my other Note 2 for BlackBerry Z10 and was disappointed with it so my only issue is which color to pick up, Black or White?

Not really a fan of Sense but I love the changes hTc made.

Design, Built Quality and Feel is what I love about hTc, only wished the went with 5" instead of 4.7". I'm not expecting Note 2 Battery Life but hopefully I can get 8 hours on HEAVY USAGE (I get about 12 with Note 2).

I also loving Sense TV. :)

Do y'all know 'bout the red one?

I imagine you should be able to do so in settings.

Just watched this being benchmarked against the nexus 4...

HTC one got just under 12,000 on Quadrant,

Don't like it in red... Too gaudy.

Is the red one retail bound or limited dev edition (like z10) ?

Sounds like a great phone (and looks very nice). Shame it won't even put a dent into Samsung. I'd love to see them get some competition in the Android space. But the S4 will be announced next month along with a marketing blitz like never seen before and no one will remember the One. Even if it probably will be a better designed phone with more of a premium feel. Sad really.

Not because of better software optimization...

It's because iOS is such a dumb mobile OS that it's got much more hardware power than it needs. There's no real multitasking, no widgets, no background processes, etc.

It's like having a quad core CPU on the game boy..............

I have to agree with you. I've long said, the horsepower in the iPhone is overkill. The OS simply isn't sophisticated enough to warrant the type of power it packs under the hood. That power pretty much goes to waste as the OS really does not require that type of horsepower.
