What’s the best browser to use for the One? I went to AT&T to try it out and the stock browser was not impressive at all. It wasn’t any faster than my iPhone 5. I turned wifi off for both so they were on the same network. I also had the issue that every time I pressed the back button the One had to reload the page while the iPhone didn’t. Is this a problem with the stock browser?
Phone comes with Chrome too. It's better than stock but not sure if it's faster.
Is there any way to make Chrome full screen? The iOS version loses the url bar when you start scrolling, but the Android version doesn't...
Not sure why you had the problem.
I just opened browser, loaded google, then loaded Engadget.com, then loaded HTC.com, finally TheVerge.com one after the other. Pressing back from verge took me to HTC.com, then pressing back took me straight back to Engadget, and then likewise to google. There was no reloading between sites on the way back....
The HTC one should also come with Chrome installed too if you want to try a different browser, however as I say I don't have a re-loading issue here at all on the stock HTC browser.
You could go into stock browser / menu button / settings / advanced and reset to default just in case they have tinkered with some settings. Its possible AT&T have some settings adjusted in relation to mobile data ?
But as I say I can't replicate the issue here on my one.
Edit.. Check developer options / advance in settings just in case someone has restricted the amount of apps running in background or such too. You can quite easily gimp performance if you know how.

In the stock browser there are shortcut buttons on the bottom. Do you know if they are customizable?
Yeah I just tried it here too with no luck and seemingly no where in settings to enable?
Solved....
Download Chrome Beta from the PlayStore.

It's one color only.

I dont have shortcut buttons on my bottom.... Or in the stock browser
Yeah joking aside don't see any shortcuts, for me its just browser page. I get the address bar, tabs/page select and menu button, on top and that's it. Nothing at the bottom at all.
Phone looks huge on her handsyet she can handle with no issues.
I guess it was just ATT version then. There are shortcut buttons on the bottom of the browser on the demo unit.
Yeah, that's the AT&T toolbar. You can disable it in settings. Not sure if you can customize it though.

Early "nitpicks" as you all like to call them:
-So much of Sense doesn't make sense. So much. Why is "Vibrate on touch" option under "Sound" in settings, for example? I was looking high and low for it. Is that normal? Is that where it is on the stock Android too? I can't remember now now that I've been away from stock Android for so long. There are other things that really irk me about Sense.
Yep it's the same on CM10.1.
