Could the cancellation you are seeing by supposedly by request (yep I see you over on XDA) possibly be linked to you ringing them and getting the order amended ?

They may have had to cancel your initial order internally in order to add the free case to the order, and hence are using a different internal order number.

It's a possibility you should hopefully investigate.

Update: it looks like the order is back in place by its own volition. Now says ready for shipment. Expected delivery tomorrow.

It's missing my free case but whatever I don't care.

Okay, letstalk.

3 more long days until I can pick up my One. Can't wait, my iPhone looks more and more lame by the minute!

New software is rolling out OTA.

1.29.401.2

Confirmed so far, fixes for capacitive button sensitivity ....

Still waiting to see if it has camera fixes and re-instates the menu button in settings.

Order status page keeps timing out. It'd be nice to know if they actually shipped today, yet.

Yours hasn't shipped yet? I actually got email confirmation but it was in the spam folder, check it. Or check your credit card if there's a pending charge for signs of shipment.

I got an email saying my order has been split.

I can't tell what's been shipped yet cause the status page won't load. I did not get any shipment emails at all in Inbox nor in Junk email.

Hopefully it ends in your doorstep tomorrow Couch, not the first time ive order something with the shipping email "lost".

I have not yet received a tracking number/email.

The day's winding down... window for April 22nd ship date is closing...

And I can't check their status page cause it's down (how lovely). I really hope that screw up by LetsTalk didn't screw my place in the queue. Like I said, if it did, I will cancel.

None of this is helping HTC and their image/reputation. None of this is rebuilding my confidence in them. It just makes me feel foolish for even giving them a chance.

Please come through, HTC.

Ha - gotta love having to wait to upgrade. By the time I'm ready, I'll likely be able to pick up a 4.2.2 (maybe even KLP) HTC One right from the store with no problems.

Couch, sorry you're having problems and really, I promise I'm not trying to rub anything in but:

And sadly, it just got here and I have to take off for a few hours so don't even get to start playing until later tonight. :(

They probably know who you are do not want your review.

So I finally got to check out a One! One of my close friends just picked one up on his upgrade.

1st impressions:

positives

- just as I expected, build quality is amazing. Feels as high-end as iPhone. Silver looks good, but I'd pick the black one.

- It's really snappy. Very fast. Software doesn't feel buggy at all

- Screen is sharp and vibrant, but 1080p might be overkill (not a knock on the One, just in general about all these 1080p screens. It's super sharp, but nothing mind-blowing over a 720p screen from last year)

-speakers are great! really loud.

negatives

- Sense 5 is alright. Not a huge fan of it still. It's still in the way, especially with the multi-tasking, etc. Blinkfeed needs to be able to be turned off. It's pretty much a gimmick

- power button is in the wrong place and volume rocker is on the wrong side

- old version of Android still...

Other than that, it's a pretty good device. There's places already discounting it (walmart) for $149.99, which makes it a tremendous value. If HTC just gave it a removable battery and SD card slot, i'd consider one. Until then, HTC has too many nagging problems with it to consider.

Question, I am assuming the answer is no.

Does the One have the had gestures to wave over it to look at notifications or turning the phone face down to turn off the screen like the S4?

And if the answer is no, is there any software in Android that would enable that. I get a lot of messages while on the road and I figure the hand wave over the screen is going to let me view without having to touch my phone.

No and technically yes....

I believe it is possible to use the proximity sensor (the one that turns the screen on and off when you put the phone up to your face and take it away) in this way via Tasker. Its a rather technical app that allows for a lot of different automation depending on if you know what you're doing or not.

I'd do a web search - maybe check out XDA to see. I'm not sure if there are any apps that do this solely.

I recently discovered tasker and am a pretty major noob when it comes to that stuff.....I was ecstatic that I set a two finger swipe (through Nova) to lock my phone - a relatively simple thing to set up from what I read.
