Why?

How would it better fit your needs than the current Mac Mini?

Or is it just that is is just a little more modern?

I have been using my Macbook Pro with a second monitor. Rather than run run 2 monitors with a Mac Mini I might just buy an iMac instead :)

I am as interested in a nice 24-27 inch Retina monitor as I am a new mac mini.

Bring it on, Apple!

Tonight please!

I think this is the rub, and Broadwell also.

What if Apple was waiting for release of the Retina Thunderbolt monitor, along side new iMacs, to bring us an updated Mac mini with Broadwell?

While much is known about the delays of Broadwell and hence the likely impact on Apple's plans for the beloved little computer, consider the following:

- high resolution iMac (I believe it was referred to as model number 15.1 in the Yosemite build) perhaps was supposed to be the as yet unannounced Mid 2014 27" iMac referenced on the Bootcamp support page;

- this may suggest that summer 2014 was supposed to be about bringing Retina to the whole desktop lineup; and

- the also as yet unannounced Mid 2014 Mac mini was supposed to be released with a Broadwell CPU, better integrated GPU and a pair of Thunderbolt II ports already!

Question is, are high resolution panels also coming to market later than one might have predicted a year ago or so?

The only product update that does not line up in this theory is OS X and the fall release of Yosemite, which is obviously not aligned with the Mid 2014 hardware updates that are missing in action as of today, a lowly Monday.

Cheers

Logically, it looks like no refresh until Broadwell. It just does not make sense otherwise.

Oh well, it has been a fun thread. But I have spoken. And it is not happening.

2015, bring it on!

I'm a little closer to buying the current Mini soon.

I lost my temper with my 2010 white MB and broke the display on it. I then threw it about ten feet where it skidded on the carpet and the wall stopped it. The stupid thing is still working now connected to an external monitor with a nice mark half way down the edge of the lid where it hit the wall. The thing is a tank. It keeps working even though a year ago the battery swelled causing the trackpad to bust loose breaking parts of the surrounding plastic on the palm rests.

I'm so tired of this white MB crashing because it's low on resources. It was bad on ML and now it's even worse on Mavericks. Having BitTorrent and iFlicks running at the same time causes some memory issues. It's being used for my movie server to my ATV for non Apple store purchases and that is what the Mini will do.

Soon. Very soon.

I am going to check out the Retina Air when it comes out.

For now, all is good. I'll pick up my BIGGER iPhone as soon as it is announced.

So Mr. Apple ?

Three and a half weeks ago a go this post bought up 2,000.

At the current rate of posting, 3,000 will almost certainly come by next Tuesday.

A new Mac Mini is almost certainly coming, but who knows just when.

The Planets are aligning aren't they ... aren't they? Well Supermoons at least.

Post counts rise exponentially.
Birds fall out of the sky.
Celestial bodies slowly manoeuvre into place.

Mac minis must be born from these cosmic events.

Here's a Supermoon as seen from my apartment. I hope it helps ya'll.

2800+ and counting. Stop the madness.
It's not coming, move along.
This is not a thread, it's a fetish.
It's getting silly.

Dunno what's bugging you, but whatever it is, your cynicism is getting tedious on a generally congenial thread. May i suggest you move yourself along.

in to log the #2850th post.

Keep it coming guys. Sooner or later Apple will know they should come up with refreshed mini.

I've been reading this thread a few times a week since it began. Waiting patiently for a new mini like a good boy the same everyone else. Just wanted to throw my rattle publicly. That is all.
