latinopost.com has had spammy stories about the new mini in recent weeks, can't imagine this is any different.

I've been putting off this bulk purchase in the hope Apple will release the updated models soon. I'm skeptical though, if an update was imminent I think we would've seen leaked SKUs from Worst Buy or somewhere by now.

I don't think we'll see a new Mac Mini prior to Sept 9th. Not only is it the next media event, but it's also when the current Education discounts expire.

Maybe that's a bit of a Captain Obvious statement. Regardless, I'm thinking September 9th is the next interesting Tuesday.

September 9 or the Yosemite event in October do seem to be more likely times for the new mini. But when you know nothing, anything is possible, so the remaining August Tuesdays are still interesting.

Don't mention Yosemite - what a dogs breakfast that is. I thought it had been designed for children. If there is a new mini it should be launched with Mavericks or even Windows.

On the 3000th post, the heavens will open and, bathed in a golden light, the new Mac Mini will descend, heralded by cherubs and stuff. The ghost of Steve Jobs will look on approvingly as Tim Cook explains that a lot of time, money and effort was needed to crap out another iPhone and sorry it took so long, we were really busy.

Monday nights are like Christmas Eve for me while I wait for the new mini... Reminds me of my childhood... All those Christmas mornings not getting what I wanted from Santa... I still feel good about tomorrow! Lol

LOL (and doing my part to drive up the post count). ;)

It looks like we may not make 3000 by the Tuesday store closing time. If so, the gods of mini will be justified in setting Dec. 31, 2015 (or 2016) as the date. If we do reach 3000, the gods of mini will not be justified in delaying that which must be seen, held and fondled by the devotees of mini. I worry, however, that the gods may be oblivious to all of this.

Chistmas every week and every week a barren tree :(

Santa might as well just crap down my Chimney *sigh*

The mini gods have not smiled upon me.

The HDD died in my Mid 2010 mini... couldn't wait, had to purchase a new late 2012 mini w/ the i7. Maxed the RAM to 16 GB and moving on.

On the bright side, Time Machine and everything else that is OS X did its job perfectly. Swapped out the mini, restored from the TM backup, a few adjustments, and back up and running quickly. So, as a positive, it's nice that in the event of a hardware failure like this, the recovery is painless.

Eventually, I'll stick an SSD in the 2010 and put it to use, but for now, I simply couldn't not be down while waiting for tools and time to do the repair...

<sigh>

Hope you all get that refresh soon...

Keep posting at this rate we will be at 3000 post by tuesday. ;)

It's nearly lunchtime on Tuesday for me, but I'll happily contribute to get us to the big Three Oh Oh Oh.

So ... an on topic point ... hmm, would guys prefer if the next base mini has an SSD at 256GB or a 1TB fusion drive?

I'd rather have a 1Tb SSD, but that ain't gonna happen either...

Try 1Tb HDD, or possibly 128GB SSD...

That's the base model and suspiciously cheap for new. However, I decided the 2.3ghz quad I7 was the better choice.

The Fusion drive is also a good option which I unfortunately didn't choose. I won't make that mistake again.
