Counted 8 mac mini last night on apple.ie store and today 7, that's another glut, previsouly there had only been 1 and it was a server with 16GB & SSD drive which no none seemed to want, well at that price! ;)
You have lots to chose from, not so here in Canada (apple.ca), last few times I've checked there have been zero-ziltch.

Use the refurb.me site to watch for refurbs on the various Apple sites. Otherwise you have to be very lucky to visit the store at just the right time.

Since Apple is now working on 60hz 4k display support in the latest OS seed could mean a upcoming introduction of new TB2 displays. This would be a good time to add a refreshed or redesigned Mini along side. I still think it will be June or fall before we see them.

What would they say in June ?
Here's the 4K, we touted a year ago, done right.

I almost wonder if this is not bad news for the Mac Mini.

Would Apple upgrade the Mac Mini without TB2 if new 60hz 4k monitors are available? I suspect not but recall that the latest iMac does not have TB2; I doubt Apple will be willing to give a performance edge in favor of the Mac Mini, especially if 4k support requires more than the very minor bump to the internal GPU that some are anticipating (eg Iris Pro graphics on base Mac Mini).

While I know a lot of folks are looking forward to exactly this upgrade (ie TB2 and Iris Pro graphics), could this news actually link the new Mac Mini release to the next iMac upgrade in order to not cannibalize some iMac sales?

It may be possible that new Mac Mini plus new TB2 monitor gives Apple higher revenue than some of the current iMac configurations, assuming Apple can maintain a monopoly of a sort on the displays for an acceptable period of time, so "losing" some iMac sales to the Mac Mini might be tolerable but I personally doubt this fits with Apple's strategy for the Mac Mini.

I don’t know which GPU are capable of output to 60hz 4k so this may be pure speculation on my part, but then again that is what this thread is about :)

Cheers

I would think that the Mini would be released along with refreshed IMacs at the same time as not to create any conflicts. Also that would mean that the Mini would require PCI for TB2.

Apple doesn't fear cannibalizing their own sales. But there is a limitation on the amount of power that can be dissipated in the small housing, and Apple does make a big point of the mini being very energy efficient.

Keeping that in mind, Iris Pro graphics seems unlikely, especially in the base mini. TB2 might happen as part of a general upgrade along with the Wifi improvements. If they went all SSD that would be bad news because it is unlikely they could maintain the same price points. I shudder to think of what would happen to the 2TB mini server. Does it triple in price??

I hope they release a new Mac Mini we can finally close this thread. :)

Not really. The conjecture will then be about the next model with all the features the 2014 model didn't introduce!

Well thats all true but in order to keep pace with other Mini offerings I don't think they have a choice unless Apple doesn't want 4k support in the Mini. If the I5 has IG 5000 in it it may be able to support 4k. Thats what the 13rMBP came with. I don't know and don't have enough Knowledge about it other than 4k requires a lot of bandwidth to run at 60hz.

and not only that...the new mini is really already designed and probably ready to go...they are probably already working on the next design/release after this one. They are 2 steps ahead and we are always behind. Buy today and it's outdated tomorrow.

I still think offering it before XP expires is a smart move but what do I know.

According to internal info from several Europe retailers the new Mac mini is coming to us as soon as this or next Tuesday at the latest. Fingers crossed!

yeah... more BS. Why would european retailers know this first. I don't even know why anyone even gave that Belgian retailer the benefit of the doubt. Seemed bogus that apple would give the heads up to anyone, let alone some random European retailer before a leak from their own apple store. Apple store employees don't even know more than a week in advance.

Maybe you should post a review of it for Macrumors. :D

don't the part numbers and stuff start showing up like a week before the release happens?

Seems like there is always some front page rumor about some new part numbers.

I can't ever recall a refresh where we hadn't already know something was being refreshed at least a few day earlier.
