To bad the event was only for the MacBook Pro today. I get it… it’s their most popular computer. But I want to see a mini with a M1 Pro in it.

It's anyone's guess....
Look how many posts above suggested the mini would be updated today....and not.

Just have to play the waiting game.

Here's to hoping that the M1 Pro / M1 Max Mac mini is released Soon, and Apple doesn't force us to wait until the M1 Pro / M1 Max powered iMac (27", 30", 32"...?) models come out in Spring 2022...

I want a Mac mini with that M1 Max SoC...!

At least until Apple announces a new Mac Pro Cube with the Jade 4C (four M1 Max SoCs lashed together)...! ;^p

But they will.

As I wrote in one of the other topics: Mac mini will get at least a 2 year refresh cycle.
Apple wants to squezze out the last penny of every model available.

And no, there wont be a Pro model. The Pro model is reserved for the Mac Pro or whatever it will be called.

I bet Apple didn't release an M1 Pro/M1 Max mini because they don't want it eating into Mac Pro sales. I bet the new Mac mini will be released alongside an even more powerful Mac Pro.

Apple will still have the M1 model Mac mini, because it is an entry-level product...

The Mac mini with a new design, using the newly introduced M1 Pro / Max SoCs is replacing the mid-level Intel Mac mini, which was introduced in 2018, so high time to ditch that Intel box & switch the mid/high-end Mac mini to Apple silicon...!

I would now hope for a release before the Christmas season, M1 Pro & M1 Max Mac minis would be great gifts under any Mac user's tree...! ;^p

Not a sound reason, seeing as how the new 14" & 16" MacBook Pro laptops can eat into Mac Pro sales just as easily...

New Mac mini (M1P/M) before the end of 2021, new larger iMac (M1P/M) Spring of 2022; multiple Mac Pro models (Cheesegrater 2.0, Mac Pro Cube, possible 30"+ iMac Pro) previewed at WWDC 2022 & shipping in December of 2022...!

After my MBP screen failed a few months ago, I was decided to replace it with a M1 iPP (2021) and the rumored, high-end Mac mini. Sadly, the rumors did not pan out. In the meantime, the M1 iPP and the 2012 Mac mini will be sufficient!

I would have dropped $2k on a Mac Mini today with some of that new hardware, a shame. Just don't need a MBP with all the WFH I do. I mean I could still use it of course but it would forever be in clamshell mode and its best features are not being used so it would be a waste.

Definately the first year in more than 10 I have not spent a penny on something new from Apple.

Same. At least my D700 Mac Pro 2013 is still worth $2k today so I guess that's sorta a plus.

Yeah same here.

Im a software dev (mostly Go based) so I’m having to rent a box in Amazon so I can use my ass end M1 mini for dev work as a terminal. I was desperately hoping I could snag something with 32Gb of RAM and some more cores and dump the AWS box this year. It works fine but it isn’t cost effective over 3 years I expect to get out of it.

But at the same time, i have a crappy old ancient 32” Samsung TV so within 30 mins of the end of the event I snagged a nice 55” 4k QLED one instead with some of the money I was going to spend on the mini. So it’s a winner here anyway.

I had an i5 mini before the M1 with 32G of RAM. Should have held out a bit longer.

I'd be fine with an M2 Mac mini or a M1 Pro 8-core (6+2) with 14 GPU cores, as long as it has a new form factor and as long as it gets lots of ports.

I'm afraid the M2 Mac mini will remain short on ports though, like the M1 Mac mini. If so, I guess I'd get the M1 Pro Mac mini then if/when it comes out, whenever that may be.

If it comes out in Q1-Q2 2022, then I'll buy in the Back-To-School promotion, which should start around the end of Q2.

According to MacRumors ... rumors, the Pro version of the mini should be meant to replace the Intel mini. The starting price is $1100. In true Apple fashion, adding more storage and memory increases the price rapidly. So a true Pro mini will probably cost $2000 easy.
I have to wonder who wants the likes of a Mac Pro, besides Pixar.
I'm sure many users want more than the 16 GB RAM, especially with Windows 11 as a virtual machine.
I'm going out on a limb to suggest whenever the Pro mini arrives, the price structure will be inline with the current iMac M1.
The mini will have better specs and a $1500 starting price could fit right in without stepping on the toes of others in the Mac lineup.
Well boys and girls, guess we'll have to wait and see.
Now, I may need an aspirin.

My guess is chip shortages have something to do with the lack of a Mac mini. If so, that could mean once laptop sales slow, a Mini could become available.

that and I wonder how much premium the screen, keyboard, case, hinges etc. if they released the Macmini Pro at the same time it definitely would’ve taken away sales
