Whatever happens today just know the new Mac Mini is almost certainly coming.
good catch...it seems the Mac Studio is far a better deal at $1999 same 512, same Ram count but you get M1 Max in it and i dont believe the M2 Pro surpass the M1 Max...less displays support, less power, very strange move from AppleThe pricing on the Pro model makes it really close to the Studio if you want 32GB of RAM. It's also interesting that if you add 10 gigabit Ethernet and the upgraded Pro chip it becomes $100 more expensive than the M1 Max Studio. So the question is what will the next iteration of the Studio look like, will it get a price hike?
And when you look at the Apple refurb store the Mac Studio is an even better deal. I’ve been waiting to replace my late 2014 27” iMac and now the good thing is we have better choices. iMac Pro would have been nice though.good catch...it seems the Mac Studio is far a better deal at $1999 same 512, same Ram count but you get M1 Max in it and i dont believe the M2 Pro surpass the M1 Max...less displays support, less power, very strange move from Apple
lets stay for now, comparing apples to apples..probably when the Mac mini will come to refurb store will be also a better dealAnd when you look at the Apple refurb store the Mac Studio is an even better deal. That’s what has me now thinking refurb Mac Studio since it will be some time before we see the new Mac mini in the refurb store.lets stay for now, comparing apples to apples..probably when the Mac mini will come to refurb store will be also a better deal
Now, im just wondering if im missing something...no way the M2 Pro 5nm will be better than the M1 Max 5nm
why did you do that? and not buying the Mac studio for the same money?Yay, just ordered a Mac mini with maxed out M2 Pro, 32GB memory, and 2TB of storage! Predictions on pricing for this was just about perfect.
Thank you Apple for listening. This is exactly the Mac mini model I’ve been hoping for
Mini has a much smaller heat sink than the Studio. My guess is the Mini will have significantly higher fan noise than the Studio on equal SOC comparisonsIs the M2 Pro still likely to run quiet or noticeable like the Studio is?
Outrageous pricing. Why are we thanking Apple for this?Yay, just ordered a Mac mini with maxed out M2 Pro, 32GB memory, and 2TB of storage! Predictions on pricing for this was just about perfect.

Indeed! I'm gonna order something like that but with a 1 TB SSD, as that will be suitable enough for my needs, as it's going to be replacing my 2012 quad-core i7 Mac Mini with 16 GB of RAM and a 1 TB SSD (replacing the original hard drive). But I probably won't be ordering it until some time this spring, like somewhere around mid-April to mid-June. (Gotta save up quite a bit, and also wait for a few bugs to be fixed with subsequent Mac OS 13 Ventura updates.)Yay, just ordered a Mac mini with maxed out M2 Pro, 32GB memory, and 2TB of storage! I have this 2017 5K iMac sitting unused beside my M1 Mac mini + 4K+ 3840x2560 (3:2) Huawei MateView monitor.Ordered. Mac Mini M2 24 GB RAM 512 GB SSD. Going from 2017 4K iMac.
Me neither, but we should have. The base M2 Mini is merely returning to where the price was from 2006-09 and 2011-12. As always all upgrades are prohibitively expensive, but available for those who really need them. Apple is doing a tremendous job at upselling their customers to the next best model. At its starting price the Mac mini with M2 Pro sits right in the middle +/− $700 between the base Mini and the base Studio, but click more than one upgrade and it becomes a living advertisement for the Mac Studio. They dropped the pricing on the M2 Mac mini, as compared to the M1 Mac mini. I didn't think they'd raise prices with M2, but I didn't think they'd lower prices with M2 either, so this comes as a pleasant surprise.
Cool, the 5K 27" is really nice. Oh I have also had an 2010 iMac! I don't have kids so I guess I will use my 2017 4K iMac as extra storage device for now. Yeah, it runs Ventura very well but I think the next macOS version it will not support it.I have this 2017 5K iMac sitting unused beside my M1 Mac mini + 4K+ 3840x2560 (3:2) Huawei MateView monitor.
I'm not sure what to do with the 2017 5K 27" iMac. I was going to give it to my kid, but she doesn't want it. She's happy with the 2015 13" MacBook Pro I bought her in 2021. I also have a 2010 2.5K 27" iMac here that isn't seeing much use either. My other kid is happy with the 2014 Mac mini with 23" Cinema HD Display I gave him last year (after I bought the M1 Mac mini).
What are you going to do with your 2017 4K iMac? It runs Ventura, and does it well.
As long as the fan doesn’t make HORRIBLE noises like the Studio, idc. The Studio is a classic thermal design fail by Apple. Like old MBPs.Mini has a much smaller heat sink than the Studio. My guess is the Mini will have significantly higher fan noise than the Studio on equal SOC comparisons
