At last!

Finally, after such a long time, the new MacMini is almost here. I can almost taste it. So happy that we now almost certainly have a new Mini to drool over. I don't think I could have lasted another day without the new Mac Mini almost certainly being here. Thank Goodness it is almost here...

OMG! What if it's not almost certainly here today? What will I do? No it can't be! I won't believe it! It's not possible! Oh please for the love off Granny Smiths, Pink Lady and Fuji Apples, let today be the day the Mini almost gets updated... Please please... oh please...

Hope you are right on this one and the new Mini comes today :) but to be honest i have no hopes for this tuesday :(. Probably just the new promotions "Back to School" kind of thing.

At the same time really hope that you guys are right and the new Mini comes out with some great specs. That would be awesome. :)

Mac mini (if ever) will be refreshed later this year, that means september/october/november. If not, than maybe next year or it will be EOL-ed alltogether. That means, that there will be only the lower specs iMac or the Macbook Air, that means as option for these people who are on "budget".

However, these computers are not cheap at all.

Yep...Just the school discounts, cant see anything else :)

Fun fact is that USD for EUR pricing has a different value depending if its for purchase or if its for gift.

Example:
US STORE
IMAC Base model I5 (desktop :) - 1299$ USD
Apple Store Gift - 100$ USD

PT Europe STORE
IMAC Base model I5 (desktop :) - 1350€ EUR
Apple Store Gift - 70€ EUR

Its really ironic :) 1€ = 1,36$ / 1$ = 0,73€

How do they come with their conversion algorithms ??? :)

By the math the discount should be something like 125€ :)

Oh well, not that im interested in any discount like that.

Back on Topic :) Mac mini will arrive, just not today

Maybe because European prices include tax and US prices don't? Just guessing... Oh, and no, still no new Mac mini.

Ah! Wasnt aware of that. Seems fare. So just by curiosity how much would it cost that Imac in your area (assuming that you are from US) with tax and all - Final consumer price?

I'm a German resident, so I can't comment on that. ;) I was just really envious of US pricing by comparison, but I learned that each State has it's own VAT (value-added tax) and/or sales tax added to the displayed retail price.

But no matter the current tax and pricing situation, I'd love to see a mini update. :D (Just to stay on topic.)

I'll tell you why it wasn't released: I almost bought an used mini yesterday. But then I decided to wait until the end of the year. I guarantee you: if I had bought it, they would have released a new one, cause that how they roll

if you aren't in need right now you are better off waiting but if Apple goes with Broadwell it may be next year unless they break with tradition and introduce with MacBooks with Broadwell M processors.

That's why it seems very unlikely that Apple would discontinue the Mac Mini; there's no point trying to force people to buy screens they don't need, and with Continuity they seem to want iOS users getting Macs, so a good entry level offering is ideal.

September or thereabouts could be a great time to do it with the release of Yosemite and iOS 8 to maybe drive interest. They've already now got the cheaper iMac offering to entice those that need an all new computer, they just need the Mac Mini to entice those that already have something else and want to switch.

Besides, Mac Minis are a good system for people that want upgrades to other Apple products; for example, they might switch using an existing monitor, but later buy an Apple display (which Apple will hopefully update at some point), or if they need more power they can swap the Mac Mini for a Mac Pro. While these may not be huge portions of the market, even taken as a closed product on its own is pretty modular within Apple's lineup. You've also got its usability as an "Apple TV Pro" which I hope Apple will explore, e.g - with a Front Row replacement, as the HDTV port is dead handy.
