Question for you all. I purchased this to mainly use with Gtalk as that is what we use exclusively at my work. I pretty much sit at my computer all day with Gtalk signed in and also on my Iphone. Is there any way to avoid duplicates on both Iphone and PC?

Meaning that if I'm on my PC and someone sends me an IM, it goes to both my PC and Iphone. Obviously I will use my PC to respond to the IM because it's easier, but the message still exists on the Iphone. Is there anyway for the Iphone to know I'm already signed in on the PC?

If I'm away from my PC and my status on the PC is "Away", but the Iphone is Available which one takes precedent?

Thanks!

GTalk has a setting for 'Priority'. Just make sure it's set lower than your work PC and you should only get messages when your computer is away.

I see that that setting is under Resource, which says my Iphone. But under Priority it just says Default and there is no way to change it.

You can have the application set you to away immediately upon exiting the app.

That would mean anyone NOT away (your computer for example) would now be the one to receive messages.

You can change that setting to 5 minutes, 10, 20, etc. It'll go auto away and whatever device isn't away will get the messages. If both are away then both get the messages.

ok so yahoo is now working for me - but everytime someone sends me a message i get it twice. - grrrrrr but the good news is the push finally works - yippie

Same here. Get double messages. Also, push only works when on 3G...on Wifi, no push messages. This is only for Yahoo. Maybe they are still working on it?

Where exactly is this priority setting? I am using the stand alone Google Talk client on Vista. Is this setting only on the gmail applet? Or possibly only in Beejive?

I did a google search for Gtalk priority and not much info came up...

Has anyone managed to use Facebook as a chat? I can log in, but my friends say i am offline as soon as I close the app.

The priority setting is in the account section of GTalk in beejive. But I can't seem to set it, it just says "Default" and I can't change it. Let me know if you have better luck.

You have to logout of the account, then you can make changes. Apparently, priority is a value between 1 and 10. I am not sure what these should be, but I set mine to 1 and will see what happens.

You can't change it if you're signed on.

I should mention that it doesn't seem to be working 100% at the moment. I tried testing it and the message routing wasn't quite there.

Thanks, I was able to change it. I tried 1 as well.

Another thing is that looking at both Gtalks on my PC and iPhone at the same time, the statuses almost are never identical. I know the one's on my PC are correct, but the statuses through beejive don't matchup at all. Most of them are away when they are actually available. Who knows.

yeah, it would be very very nice if the status messages where sync'd between iChat (or whatever client) and Beejive.

I think that's a matter of priority, at least with Google Talk. Whichever app has a higher priority setting will show status.

But if iChat is currently set to "At work" and I change my status to "At home" through Beejive, then will iChat on my computer update to reflect the new status "At home" ? That is the sync issue that I am wondering about.
