As we MR lot are generally a moany bunch I must say - I got my pro controller day 1 switch release and it's still perfect ! I use if for all my iOS and Mac gaming too and its by far the best controller I have ever used.

Kudos N !
OEM controllers are not cheap but generally last way longer than third party ones.

Just looking at your tag - you do know there is game called Football right ? Makes a tech fanboy look like a total amateur.....especially as they actually physically fight too....

As fake as it gets. Not a single marking to state it’s a new Switch and looks remarkably like an OLED Switch…. And if you think Nintendo are going to colour coordinate the joysticks I have news for you.

Oh ok, so it's a current Switch OLED if you didn't know, NO WHERE does it state it's a new Switch 2, so either you got it wrong or it's fake. Because according to every single rumour and leak so far the controller literally will not fit the Switch 1.

Please explain why you think these controllers are for the new yet to be revealed Switch 2???

EDIT those are Hori game pads for the existing Switch model.. it says so on the packaging.

I do believe it's a hori controller not switch 2. maybe the switch 2 buttons are shortcuts to features they both have in common. it at least shows a confirmation of what's to come button wise beyond "we think". btw the controller can be seen online here https://www.nintendo.com/us/store/products/split-pad-compact-apricot-red-117759/
There is no "Switch 2 buttons". The buttons on the back are programmable to be another button on the controller for easier access. The Hori Split Pad Compact has been around for years and is just a smaller version of the older Hori Split Pad Pro. It's not new in any shape or form and has nothing to do with the Switch 2. Here's a review for it from 2022:

This is amazing news. I wasn’t looking forward to selling my existing switch game and then have to rebuy them all at £40 each for the new console.

I look forward to seeing whether ai upscaling will be applied retrospectively to current games or whether Nintendo will charge for next gen update….OR create remasters.

And that is a great news! It would have been a shame to lose all the thousands games that are available on switch. i personally tried only 8, and have still like 20 games that i would want to try on switch - luckily can keep trying with Switch2 if all goes well.

I am surprised you lot aren't talking more about the new Mario Brothership game - I am finding it a corker with charm, great battle depth now I am on my 4th island and with great music too - 9/10 for me

1.5tb for 80 pounds seems pretty insane -

So Sony are rattled....Now the Switch is closing in on the PS2 they have "updated" the sales figures to 160 million after 10 years at 155 ? Bloody idiots - The Switch even with Switch 2 on the horizon will still outsell it especially as post S2 I bet the Switch will be cheap as chips.

I really wish the new Switch was available by Christmas. I want to get a game console for my kids but I don’t like buying something that will be replaced in a few months. If they were a little older I’d go PS5. Is it still worth getting the existing Switch model?

In my opinion - YES. Especially for kids. We bought my younger son a PS2 after the PS3 was already released and he had a total blast.

The Switch has an incredible library of games, enough to keep them happy and busy for years!

It is not worth getting only if someone claims to have played at least all those 20-50 must have first party games and in general played thousands of them on other platforms or previous nintendo models.

So if one hasn’t done the above, then there are still hundreds of high quality games to be tried on old switch. Also switch is not a PC - meaning new switch will not bring absolutely anything to old games until game studios rerelease for new gen, which might be never.

The back compatibility mode will run the games exactly as the switch 1 does.

I can safely see people passing on these because they have xbox/pc for multiplatform, and/or have played nintendo games in older wiiu, ds and such.

Buy a used one. Any games you buy will be backwards compatible on the new switch.

We don’t know when next year the new model will be released. It could be Japan first, US second. It will be utter mayhem and could take you months to get hold of one.

The kids will still enjoy the current switch. I have a switch, series x, 4070ti pc and iPads. Honestly. The kids don’t care about graphics and are no more impressed by the pc than Roblox. 🤣 we play on all devices. The kids are 6 and 8.
