Sure ;) so what's stopping you buying a cheap DS to play those games on?

I just want a bigger screen and an all in one machine at least for my retro games, hence buying a rMB soon. Also with emulator you have more customization of how the game is run. I may go the DS route, but I don't want to have multiple machines laying around to play all the games I wish to play.

I know I'm going off topic here, but any UK members really annoyed with how Nintendo handled the Fire Emblem Fates launch? We get it late, then once the Special Edition sells out then only gets restocked as expensive bundles (which also immediately sell out), then they give the exclusive to FRICKIN' GAME who are so incompetent it's genuinely amazing.

Eventually my love for the series will override this frustration and I'll end up getting the game, but for now **** Nintendo.

A sidenote: Zero Punctuation is still going?
Wonder if he still lives in Brisbane though.

As bad as Australia. Actually no Australia have it worse. We don't even have a online Nintendo store, you do. I feel your pain.

It was mostly bad luck on my end tbh. Game absolutely dropped the ball though, not every store got any, my local said they weren't doing pre-orders then the day of release their stock checker showed plenty of stock! I went in but was told the stock was only for pre-orders... So annoying.

Yeah. Game is rather terrible to be honest. I've only heard bad things about them.

Anyone else watching Nintendo's Zelda U/NX Treehouse livestream?

I'm blown away already by the trailer!

Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

Looking forward to the new Zelda, I'm Interested to know if that trailer gameplay images were generated on NX class hardware, or WiiU. while it didn't look terrible, I'm hoping WiiU and that NX may still be an improvement on top of what we have seen.

They were playing using Wii u controllers. They have said NX version willing use standard controller, i assume we can take it all gameplay was at this stage wii u.

It was clearly 720p or sub given jaggies, i would hope NX at least ups that to 1080p with a strong anti aliasing solution in place.

According to this article, the Wii U and NX versions will be the same and the Wii U version will support the Pro Controller:

Everything Nintendo has shown so far, has been Wii U footage and gameplay.

Given the minute differences between Twilight Princess on the Gamecube and Wii, I wouldn't expect many differences on the NX.

But I do expect the NX to sell better than the Wii U. Zelda as a launch title, and, hopefully, none of all that kiddo focused gimmick gameplay and no proper games.

I might buy the NX if they don't kill the experience with "innovative" control schemes. If they make me waggle, dance, yell or juggle with a stupid second screen to play their games, I'm out.

Exactly.

Will be same gameplay wise, that doesn't mean resolution or graphic fidelity wise ;)

The same article you posted

"While the experience will stay the same, we do expect the NX version to look better, considering it has more powerful hardware."

IIRC, When Twilight Princess came out, it was a higher resolution on the Wii than Gamecube. I'm hoping there will be a resolution bump for NX and Nintendo forces me to buy it :D

Hopefully it's the same product though, so that there aren't separate versions for the two systems.
Buy it, play on your Wii U... later when you buy an NX, pop in the same disc and you'll play it with better visuals.

No that won't happen. They didn't do that with GameCube / Wii version of Twilight Princess. The only they may offer something like that is digitally with cross buy, however Nintendo store despite improvements with account is still woefully inadequate and that may be too much to ask for them to have a unified shopping / account experience across them

If anything I would expect the Wii U version to be priced at $49.99 and a NX at $59.99 because the likes of Gamestop love making extra $$$ on new games at time of a hardware launch.

I can't see it being the same product. If anything, I'm expecting it to be just like the Twilight Princess release for GC and Wii; i.e., pretty much the same game, but different graphics and the mirror-image thingee that lead to Link being *left*-handed in the GC version and *right*-handed in the Wii version (which had everybody screaming...I'm wondering if that was why Link was *right*-handed in the Wii U version we were seeing...will he be *left*-handed in the NX version?

Yeah, too bad idiocy like that had to cross the Atlantic over to your side...at least there are some things in life you can count on. /s

The WiiU BotW is 720p. Confirmed by Nintendo at E3. This makes me think that the NX version will be 1080p.

very old rumour but a good one. By carts don't think N64 or SNES, think more like 3DS. It's easy to have 64GB carts that small these days. The cost of these carts to make vs discs? That's a different issue all together.

In Australia that would be $79.99 for WiiU and possible $99.99 for NX.

Yeah Ireland I'd imagine NX would be €70-75, which is what Gamestop charge for PS4 and XB1 titles which is $113 AU dollars !!!!!
