I don't know. Just that I have not experienced anything out of the ordinary with my 2017 as compared to the 2016's, and this is my 3rd nTB machine because I had 2 defective 2016 nTB machines (other issues, not fan/heat related). I also had a TB model (free upgrade from Apple), but which I wasn't happy with so I returned it (it had a whistling fan).

I feel like I hit the jackpot at least on screen and lack of fan / heating issues

My c key was feeling stuck the other day earlier randomly but sorta worked itself out for now. I recall having similar issues intermittently with my 12" mb too. I like butterfly keyboard but doesn't seem like it's gonna hold up for the long haul. Who knows thoug

Glad I have AppleCare. This generation just seems to get a lot of shade (2016 onward)

I like mine but now I'm wondering abojt things as well . Oh well

I'm NoT buying another computer in any case any time soon.

My 2016 is fine on fan.

Machine is sluggish when I have between 10-15 tabs on safari and 5-8 spreadsheets open in Excel. I got fed up with it and restarted with less files open.

Battery seems to be lasting only a little over 5 hours using web, excel, word and mail but I did have the brightness above halfway.

In less than a year, the main logic board was replaced.

Recently, I brought it since a tiny speck of dust suddenly appeared inside the screen. The whole top shell will be replaced.

How's your MBPs guys?

I have the 13.3” TB and it’s been a dream. My gf just got an HP Spectre and she likes my Mac better. Haven’t had one issue with it.

My 2016 had so many issues (RAM failure, keyboard issue, mouse issue), Apple took it back and gave me a maxed out TB. I didn’t like the TB so I returned that and got credited for my original nTB one. By then so much time had passed the 2017s were out, so I ordered a 2017 nTB. That has worked fine so far.

We have a 2017 and a 2016 ntb MBP. The only iussue we have had is a slightly touchy keyboard on the 2016. All else is 100%. Love these machines!

Hey, my 13 MBPntb has been a gem but I confess that were it not for the work laptop (a 15 incher), i would have bought an external graphic card.

Otherwise, it’s a real treat. I don’t miss the MagSafe power cable, or the longer battery. I do enjoy the awesome portability and bright screen. Really, no complaints. The metal body has saved the laptop on numerous occasions too.

Is it worth the price of admission? It’s hard to say. I live on my laptop and cell phone and value quality above all else. For me, the cost is damn worth it. For anyone else, it may be safe to get the older, bulkier models second-hand until the price on these USBC models drops.

I’ve been using my 2016 nTB 13” MBP for over a year now and have no complaints. I haven’t had any issues at all and it’s running just as well as the first day I got it. At home I have an eGPU for when I need it, which makes a nice setup for me. Hoping to get some more good years with this machine.
