Well, it's the New Year, so I think I will look into putting together a new avatar for myself. My pirate Finder, aka "Hackintosh" has done me well for the past while, but change is always a good thing. When I get a new one figured out, I'll include it here for sure...

I was thinking the same thing, although I might go for more of the "themed" avatar route. Gotta think on that one a bit.

Oh, speaking of themed ones, here's a recent one from my vacation:

Updates...

My latest avatars are attached.

After winning the Best Animated Avatar contest (hey, I'm allowed to brag about this!) I switched to this avatar for a few days (the Newton one), then switched to my other contest entry for a day or so (the worm one).

I've since reverted to my little dcv character, but she's just been updated to demonstrate her latest addiction to "BodyPump" ;)

Putting New Years resolution to work in some form, that is a great way to inspire us all. ;) :)

Hi, I just joined the board and still fiddling with my profile as well as trying to pick out an appropriate avatar.

Just wanted to say that I think I'm in love with Lacero's avatar. If that's really her, then I'm smitten.

Don't worry, you have plenty of time to find an avatar - you can't have one until 500 posts. And before you ask any other questions on why, please read the FAQ.

And it's because of people like you why Lacero has disabled her PM function. :p

:O... Thats alot.

Not really. If you're an active member of the MR community, as you appear to be becoming due to your posting rate, you'll hit 500 in no time. Plus, it shouldn't be all about having a little picture under your name and striving for 500 posts "just because".

I've always figured Lacero to be male.

There has been quite a bit of speculation about that in recent months. I however am with you I have always thought (s)he was a he. The mention of a wife in my previously linked thread and many comments in some other threads have always had me thinking male.

Early lacero was salty, saucy, pessimistsic, and bitter.
Latter-day Lacero is either another person, a schizo, or playing games.

I just treat Lacero as a "she", and if I'm wrong, I'm wrong. It's fun to speculate and all, but I usually just stay out of those types of discussions and take things for what they're worth.

What do you mean by "people like me"? What are you accusing me of doing? Hey, I just joined the board, man. :(

There is no PM function, it's her e-mail that is disabled.

I took Lacero to be female as well. At least, that's the impression I get from her various posts, the avatar and the public profile photo (if that's her, which also looks a lot like the avatar).
image.php

Why would a dude use a photo of a female in an avatar and in a public profile? Unless it was some kind of a tribute to his wife or something. But then, why would someone post a photo of his wife for public consumption? The profile says "Lacero's picture". However, the post mentioning a "wife" has me scratching my head.

Is Lacero a male, a female, a shemale, a tranny, a gay cowboy or a video game character like Lara Croft, who knows?

All I know is I really like the avatar.
