The more interesting story is my screen name. For the fun of it, back in the early 1990s, I started using Tracy Kaye as an anonymous online handle/screen name. I used to tell people I was Danny Kaye's niece (which is a lie, but no-one ever picked up on the fact that "Kaye" wasn't Danny's last name, let alone the niece part). My last name starts with a K, so "Kaye" is just a phonetic spelling. Tracy Kaye became TracyKaye sometime during that time, and for a while I went to a couple of SciFi/Fantasy events and adopted "Foxy" as my nickname - long story, but it has to do with Jimi Hendrix's song "Foxy Lady" and a lot of late-night parties. Eventually, TracyKaye became FoxyKaye, and I've been using these screen names ever since. When I ran into Michele doing anthropomorph drawings, I couldn't resist getting one as "FoxyKaye."

Once I achieved 'tar-able status I went with The Architect from The Matrix movies. Being labelled a Solutions Architect in several jobs, I liked the way he stated "I am the architect."

For Halloween this year, he needed an eye-patch.

Then I SouthPark-ized him.

Now, he's SouthPark-ized and he wears a Santa hat. (And with that hat and the beard and white hair, he does rather look like Father Christmas from the neck up, doesn't he? I can hear him now, "I am the architect. I created the holiday."

I've used this image from Eraserhead since post #500. Not only is it one of my favorite films of all time (I went to see it on my very first date in 1981), but it also fits nicely with my screen name.

I just saw this movie after recognising the image from your avatar.

One of the weirdest, creepiest, most disturbing movies I've seen in awhile.

Calvin: My Avatar

I just recently hit post number 500 and here's my first avatar. Calvin from the comic Calvin and Hobbes. This one has a Christmas theme (hence the holly). I'll stick with this and make subtle changes like other members do by changing what he holds in his hand, what kind of hat he wears etc depending on the holiday.

I went with Calvin from Calvin and Hobbes because I like it as a theme for me now that I've switched to the Mac. I have fun using Macs and I've always held a sentimental value on reading Calvin and Hobbes and what Calvin embodies with regard to being a kid, having fun and nurturing imagination.

No - your profile pic is, well, the picture you choose in your personal profile. You avatar is what appears below your member name, and can only be used after 500 posts. Two different images.

LOL. I read it to mean you're going to spend all night posting on MR to get to 500, too. That's just me thinking aloud. I know you meant it differently. edit: Looks like Shard beat me to the punch.

Anyway, your avatar can be seen by everyone. Your profile picture can only be seen by members, and not by lurkers. Avatar sizes go up to 75x75 pixels and profile pics can go up to 150x150 pixs. Hope that helps.

Avatar sizes go up to 75x75 pixels and profile pics can go up to 150x150 pixs.

And if you are a Mod/God you are allowed a slightly larger avatar as well. Just one of those little perks I guess...
