I ordered a new 20" from the EDU store this morning. Status is still just "order received". Anybody's order being processed yet?

I just placed my order about an hour ago, and it already says "Processing Order"

Mr. Anderson, Let us know if the fans are less noisy.

Not all of the Rev. A's had noisy fans. Some did right out of the box, some did after a while, and some never have. So it's going to take a lot of people buying and using the new ones for a while before we can tell if the noise has been 100% fixed.

Same thing with the other common issues, although we know that Rev. B does have a new power supply (it's a universal one now) and that the midplane and its bulging capacitors had to have been at least somewhat modified (since there is a new graphics card built into it). So I'm optimistic that these problems will be less common, if not gone.

I just hope I can get it tomorrow - it would be quite cool to surprise my wife....but there are no guarantees and it will most likely require a second trip to Chicago.

I ordered mine around 30 hours ago now - about 1 hour after they became available.

I went for the 20" 2 GHz with a 400GB drive - but only 512MB of memory. However, I ordered a further 1GB RAM from Crucial, and saved myself at least another £100!

My order is currently due to be delivered on or before the 9th...

Outstanding! X-Plane 8.11 will NEVER be the same again!

:D

I keep reading about how noisy the iMac's fans are in these forums and I have to say that I have never heard a fan in the 4 months I've had mine. I must not compute as strenuously as some others do.

I'm feeling pretty confident that they will ship tomorrow or Friday, as I think most Apple stores are expecting to have them by the weekend, or Monday at the latest. So unless they way underestimated the demand and simply don't have enough for everyone who ordered, I bet they will be on their way to us by the weekend.

I was kind of hoping to have mine by Friday though (I paid for 2day shipping), as I have meetings all day Monday and Tuesday so I wouldnt even be able to hook it up until Tuesday night or Wednesday afternoon. Torture!

So I never made it to the Apple Store today because they never got the machines, even though last night I talked to one person who said they were expecting them.

Even worse, they hadn't received any shipment confirmation from Apple that they were even on their way. So no one really knows when they will arrive.....

Bleh,

"Order Dispatched" email has just arrived. 2-3 days quoted for delivery.

(That's a 20in G5, ordered on Tuesday)

Is that the same thing as "processing order", or does "order dispatched" come after? They use different terms in the UK than the US, apparently. Also, is this a new model 20" iMac, or did you get the old one on sale?

Order Status as of 06:39 AM GMT, 05/05/2005 Shipped

20"/2.0GHZ/512/250/SD/56K/BT/AP-GBR

Echo that.

Got the email this morning saying expected delivery is 2-3 days and I had a 5 day build estimate ... if I wasn't already wearing a catheter, I'd wet my pants with the excitement ..... :D ;)
