Sales tax

I'm heading up to New Hampshire where they have no sales tax and picking one up there. Although I have to call a day or two in advance, though, to make sure they have them in stock and hopefully can put it on hold.

Didn't notice if anyone else mentioned this, but you could save a trip and simply order your MBP from an online company who doesn't have a brick and mortar presence in Massachusetts, thus paying no sales tax.

Good luck with however you decide to purchase!

Well, I'll be getting the free iPod nano deal, and a free printer, which are both offered only through Apple. Plus I couldn't bear waiting for the ship time :)

Actually 1 day and 13 hours. Almost there!

Ugh, I've been counting it down for so long. We're sooo close, FINALLY!

Im waiting till Monday at least...my neighbor is goin to WWDC and if Leopard beta looks nice Ill just install it and try it out - also wanna be double sure I don't buy a MBP then some new something comes out the next day (whether it be hardware or software...)

You know the beta isn't available to the general public, right?

I'm sure WWDC will showcase TONS of new, revolutionary apple products!
I heard through the grapevine that they'll be releasing a revolutionary mobile phone, an internet communication device and... A WIDESCREEN IPOD!
That just what I heard. ;)

I'm buying a new MBP next week, but it is not because of WWDC. But since I will be waiting anyway, I guess I am part of the club :)

Well, here we are. You guys made your purchase yet?

I was surprised and saddened that most of the Leopard features were the same updates from last year. Nothing to see here, folks. And STILL no word as to whether or not iLife and iWork would be receiving an upgrade around Leopard time.

With the demo today though, it certainly looks like a MBP purchase today will be future proof against any hardware updates that Apple may make in October, so unless they removed brushed metal from the MBP to reflect the grays in Leopard, seems like we're all good to go.

*blushing* here, but somehow I didn't realize that all of the MBP's were 64 bit capable out of the box. I'm still living in my iMac original Core Duo world, I guess.

As an aside, anyone try Safari on Windows yet? Apple's site didn't fully load, and when I clicked the bug icon (just to see what it was) Safari's memory usage soared to almost 900MB! I only have 1GB in this machine!

One last thing, does anyone know if this drive (http://www.wdc.com/en/products/products.asp?driveid=314) will work in the MBP? I need to call and see if the closest authorized repair center will install it for me. Sadly I live many, many hours from an Apple store. Or anything.

I think you all are silly to think that people that order this week will get the short end of the stick.

However, I do commend your ability to wait and I really do hope something nice does come out at WWDC. If you can wait, its never a bad idea too.

Good luck.

Sorry you guys didn't get anything you wanted.

Let me say again that I expected nothing to come of WWDC to change my mind to purchase. As I mentioned in another post, I consider it next to impossible that they would change the product offering, whether it's hardware or software, since they updated two of their lines within the past month. Including an iLife upgrade.

Up until now, I figured iLife would ship alongside (or within) Leopard, but I guess that's not the case since it was given no press.

I waited for that next-to-impossible chance that I was wrong in my assumption, and to hopefully get more info out of Leopard than I had, to make a determination if anything in it would warrant waiting for new hardware to take full advantage of it.

Since I don't see either of those things, MBP with 23" Cinema Display, here I come :)

Well, that was both underwhelming and a relief (that they haven't been too radical in changing stuff).

So, it now remains to be seen whether I order the 2.2 Rosebook with 160gig drive from the online store, or pick up a stock 2.4 Rosebook when I go into the Apple Store tomorrow.

We shall see, depending on my mood...! ;)

Thanks, that was pleasant (are you serious?)

I'm still sure it was the right decision to wait. I've already waited almost a year, what's another 6 days?

Don't get me wrong, I would of been happy if he was giving out coupons but I really had no expectation of it and found it funny that people were trying to tell themselves that he was going to do it.

Woo hooo! Macbook Pro 2.2 with 23" Cinema Display on the way!!! Upgraded to the 160GB 5400 RPM drive, but that doesn't seem to have slowed the delivery estimates up any. Delivery date estimates are June 14-19.

Now I need to get one of those trendy elevators, and one of the Spec clear polycarbonate cases.
