Any ideas on how to get the "Chapter xx" from showing up at the bottom when play back?

Also, when I play back the files on my sony tv with ps3media server as the server, the image is "squished" vertically

Why?

I've been using PS3 Media Server for a while to stream .avi files to my PS3, but I'm having trouble streaming .mp4 files. I keep getting a "Data is corrupt" error when I try to stream it, but if I load the file onto the PS3's hard drive, it will play fine. Does anyone know what the problem might be? If it's any help, the .mp4 files were originally DVDs that I ripped and converted to mp4 using Handbrake.

:| you sure your settings are all correctly checked? subtitles dont appear on mine. everything else runs fine. maybe post some screen shots of the settings you are using?

hmmm. clearly a setting issue from somewhere. seems like PS3MS is transcoding incorrectly for some reason. can you also provide some screen shots?

you and me both. thanks for posting the pictures. if you click the button "expert settings: codecs specific parameters" from the Menencoder menu - just make sure that the tick box is ticked, bbecause you can create custom settings in there etc. other then that i honestly dont know!

thats pathetic lol. you do have the latest version?

care to post the information of the .mp4 files that you have (use quicktime 7 and go "get into" of the movie or whatever).

maybe a complete reinstall is needed...

right so its using mpeg4 part 10.. i dont see any problems with it except for the fact that PS3MS might be struggling to interpret the container correctly, and then stuffs up the conversion.

would you mind trying to reconvert the DVD in handbrake using h264 and see what happens?

it is already done in h264

OH!

wow - i didnt know they could render!

could very well be, does it work ok rendering via the PS3?

Yes it is VERY cool:)

I haven't noticed the issue with my ps3 so I dunno what the deal is

I will say that the tv render is MUCH quicker than the ps3 as in i have instant folders and NO stuttering at all ever

cant say the same when I use my ps3:(
