Seems like a nice phone. The problem as even Supersaf said is the value option on this compared to the s24 plus is questionable.

Personally even if the s24 plus on sale is $100 more than the s24fe the plus has better materials, bezels and screen and bigger battery which makes it more than worth the extra cost. Sales on the s24 series will be pretty intense over the next few months peaking during the holidays which should make a S24 plus the better value.

If Samsung released the FE at the same time as the regular s series then I think it would hold up as a much better value option and sell better but the late release means all the regular s series are on sale when this comes out?? I like the FE series and the timing and pricing had always been odd. The specs seem pretty decent if it were more of a value option and again if the s24 series wasn't a better value. Even the standard s24 I would rather have than the FE and I think the pricing would be almost the same depending on sales.

If I were Samsung I would get rid of this model and lower the price on all models $100 next year instead of increasing the price meaning the s25 could be bought for $699 base model on release. This would drive a lot of sales to the s24 regular model, specially when the economy is crunched and everyone else is raising prices.

Or if Samsung just lowered the price of the regular s25 models and not the plus or ultra and got rid of the FE. Might increase sales and increase profits not having to build 2 different models??

I just don't see how the FE survives unless it is released closer to the regular models and the price difference is great enough between s24 base model and s24Fe base model to drive sales to the FE and as it is now I don't see that happening??

They might as well kill it, they can replace the A series with a cheaper Fe series and call it a day. This still has a lower quality screen, lower processor, outdated fingerprint sensor it's basically a souped up A54.

Makes little sense at 700 us no one is jumping on this, I got my ultra for 750 new with 512 gb by slick-deals.

I honestly agree with one caveat.

There were a lot of carriers offering the s20fe for free without any trade. You just needed like a 6 month contract which wasn't bad. So if these type of deals still exist on the current fe then it will make sense for a lot of people but as a stand alone purchase at MSRP it just makes you scratch your head as who would buy it?

One of the great things about Samsung in my personal opinion that often gets lost when people talk about price is trade in pre order deals. I have bought several devices at maybe 40% or less of MSRP which is pretty great.

If you trade in a Samsung device during special promotions within 3 years you get very good deals. You need to time it right but if you are a Samsung customer they have predictable sales and releases and pre order deals. Some years the deals are better than others but generally speaking Samsung takes care of repeat buyers through cost incentives that help me but devices I otherwise couldn't afford.

I have found no other OEM to be the same and Apple resale values have plummeted compared to even 5 years ago. So selling on private market or trading in to Apple give you maybe 30% off MSRP if you are really lucky on year old devices which makes Apple products too expensive for me to afford new.

All this to say sometimes a device pricing doesn't make sense on it's face until you understand the promotions that really get this oddly placed device sold.

However I still agree with your premise just as you said it. The phone seems rather redundant and clearly not as good as the regular s24 series and not enough of a value proposition to make sense at MSRP.

If Samsung sold the s24fe for $499 MSRP it would sell like hotcakes but at $700 it just doesn't make series.

I'm surprised and happy to see that the S24 FE will also receive 7 years of OS updates. About time this becomes the norm not just for flagships.

I think we have to remember that many have different price point thresholds and say the difference of just a few $'s may sway many, where others talk in 50,s or even 100,s :)

We may well afford an extra $200 to buy the perceived better value device but not everyone is so lucky :)

I don't see a SS flip section. Does anybody have one? Played with I've the other day. I really like those But $1200 is a lot.
Just looking for thoughts from those that have it or had one.

Does anyone have the Buds Pro 3 Earbuds? I'm considering buying this for Amazon Prime Day but the reviews have been mixed and other earbuds tend to not stay in the ears. Just wondering how these are or if there are any other recommendations for a better fit. I do have the Airpod Pro 2, but I don't have all the features anymore because I have the Samsung phone (Even though I still have an Ipad, Apple TV, and Mac).

I like them quite well I'm using them with my ZFold 6. They are very light they stay on my ears with no issues I only swapped out for the larger tips for comfort wise. I've been testing them alongside the Pixel buds Pro and I think I like them better. I do like the Pixel ones as well but I think the sound is better on Samsung. But I am keeping the Pixel ones as I also use them for a lot of calls. They are kind of like my AirPod Pros lol

I have a question regarding blocked calls. On Apple, there was a setting that was much more strict when it came to blocked calls. I think it was silence unknown callers or have a way where the only people to reach you was if they were in your contacts or you had just called them earlier. Is there a setting like that on Samsung? I have both the blocked callers setting set to on for the phone and through T Mobile and I'm still getting spam calls. Is there something I can do to medicate these calls or am I just out of luck?

There is an anti scam calls in phone settings if I remember correctly.

There is a "Block Calls from Unknown Numbers" option, which I have clicked on and it doesn't work.
Go into your phone app settings and make sure caller ID and spam protection is checked. Double click and check block all spam and scam calls.

That should work?

yeah so I can't necessarily say it's what other people are seeing, poor response at edge probably due to accidental touch protection. What I feel like I'm seeing is just a general slowness and missed touches. Scrolling feels very slow (it always has been smooth but slow v android), but worse is that when I'm not thinking about it, I'll touch a menu option and it won't register, do it again, nothing.... concentrate look at the menu option and purposefully touch it and it works.

At the moment it feels like my whole day on the ip16pm is like that click nothing, click nothing, wtf CLICK worked.

In fact I handed it to someone who was wondering about upgrading and he even said "is it faulty? I cant click anything?"

My s24u is sitting next to it and the difference in speed and reliable touch is day v night.

My intention was to get myself an iPhone as haven't had 1 for a short time but I'm not keen on spending good money on the 16 PM if quality is hit and miss, I'll just sit it out until Apple get their act together and sort it out

Did this get put down to software or hardware?
