I can say OneUi 7 is my favorite OneUI. Takes the best of iOS 18 combined with the best of what Samsung offers. So far, the only “bug” i’ve encountered is that the live now still show any music or YT indicator even after close. [iOS does it to, but does go away].

I'm interested in the NowBar... I'm hoping Samsung allows 3rd party dev access to it. And they need to enable music/audio to be used in the status bar, as of now... it's limited to timers.

Any other bugs or requested features you looking for Samsung to add to OneUI 7?

Yeah, One UI 7 seems the best mobile OS update in a while: new refreshed look, recording calls feature like iPhone and transcription, the Now bar, notifications look more modern now, new AI features, simpler camera interface, action shortcuts on lock screen, new widgets, etc.

It's gonna make the S24, S23 and S22 feel completely new and more modern.

What I like about Samsung is that they add so many new features that are actually useful and then they also copy those that are popular on other platforms, so you always get the best of all worlds, alongside top notch hardware.

Even more exciting is that after One UI 7 that's another 6 FUTURE UPDATES for the S24!

I am on the fence. I have a Pixel 8 Pro and a s24 ultra.

The hardware has been the best since I pre ordered. It is obvious how much better the hardware is on the s24 ultra every time I use it over the Pixel.

But the Pixel UI I still feel is better.

For those testing OneUI 7 beta how does the AI call features work. Now I get tons of spam calls my Pixel will either block or answer for me. My s24ultra just doesn't work as well. Not even close. This is one feature that makes me want to go back to the Pixel but then the inferior hardware is annoying.

If OneUI 7 can fix this one issue then I will keep using my s24ultra and be completely happy with it.

Honestly besides that one issue the s24 ultra has been one of the best phones I have ever had.

I'm trying to remember, does the S24 have a "Silence Unknown Callers" feature? That's one of my favorite features on iOS. I feel like I never get spam calls at all.

You have a few ways to block calls from unknown callers in Android and One UI 7

This is the feature on Pixel phones I like so much. That is great news to see that.

Thank you for sharing this information.

Now I can be happy with keeping my s24u for a while.

I really like Pixel software but One UI is really good and getting closer to Pixel UI but still having all the extra configuration in OneUI.

Samsung hardware is pretty much close to the best so it is really nice to see Samsung continue to offer new practical features to their phones.

Just gotta do 3 things and then I’d consider going back:

1. Allow you to set Google Photos as the default photo app.

2. Better camera performance for moving objects.

3. Allow theming for all icons, not just stock (without having to use Theme Park).

It's not new on Samsung phones, blocking numbers has been around since 2018 and its spam warning is quite good but not as good as Pixel, but unfortunately that is only a US feature.

Umm…

I think 1. is already in effect because I know I seen an article discussing this (I believe I shared it with you)… but I’m not quite sure since I don’t use Google Photos.

And I believe for 2. someone in the thread mentioned tweaking your camera to help with the issue of moving objects, since Samsung doesn’t enabled it by default.

Help me out here, are you asking for theming in terms of changing colors similar to how Google and now Apple has approached it. Or completely changing icons?

For #1, the last I checked, they were talking about that being an option, but not sure if it actually has been implemented yet.

And for #3, actually talking about the changing colors similar to how Apple and Google do it.

1) If I recall correctly it was not Google Photos app that was bugging you but when you came to attachments from an app it only went to Samsung gallery's so you could not attach a google cloud photos this way?

I understand this is because you have not granted Google Photos access to photo picker, just go to google photos, tap your icon, select photo settings, select apps and devices, select google photos access, select photo picker, select allow.

This should resolve your annoyance and you wont have to share now :)

I believe Photo Picker is the default api used by apps to attach photos :)

Whats not been implemented by Samsung yet but 4 other OEM's have (Xiaomi, Oppo, OnePlus, or Realme) is displaying Google Cloud Photos in the Samsung Gallery app :)

2) There are options and default settings you can change so the photo settings that are more suitable for moving objects, even for candid shots. But I agree the old sports mode was much easier.

3) Really colour Icons that has only been on an Iphone < 1 year and this is a deal breaker :D

If that would really work for #1, dang. Wish I had known that when I had the S23 Ultra. Honestly might not have ever moved back to iOS.

Yep, we need someone to double check that uses Google Photos, the option is there on my Fold 6 but nothing appears in the photo picker as I do not use Google photos

I note the default seems to be switched off

It should work with any app that uses photo picker as that is the api used by Samsung

It’s not a standalone app it is the Samsung routine called by app developers when attaching photo's, is my understanding.
Haha the funny thing is, I might still be on Samsung if I knew this in 2023. I post a lot of photos and videos on Facebook and instagram, but I’m not a fan on Samsung’s gallery app. That was my biggest annoyance
Otherwise, I had the S23 Ultra for close to a year and loved it.

Understood, but as we found nothing to do with Samsung gallery its about google photos granting access to be found for attachments :)

Oh yep. Not blaming Samsung. It was just enough of an annoyance to where I decided to switch platforms.

The S25 Ultra will be tempting.

We can always find something to complain about but this phone has stood the test of time since January and as the year finishes now it has been picked by several reviewers as the phone of the year. That must say something dispite others continuing to poke holes on it.
Where in this world will one ever find perfection.

Not sure if you were referring to my comment lol. But mine was a specific use case with the S23 Ultra.
