How do you downgrade. I know you have to back up but it's always confused me, especially so on Android phones where it's a bit more open source.
According to this website… the Smart Switch app on Mac/PC assist you with downgrading.

So those of us on the S24 range, wont get One UI 7 for while. Why couldn't they just release it to everyone at the same time. It's things like this that make me prefer Apple and my iPhone, at least everyone gets the IOS updates at the same time.

I don't want to sell my S24 Ultra! if I did, I would have. I like to have an Android phone as my second device.

I wonder if they found a bug or two for the older devices that was just too big to push out the update. If that’s the case, for sure frustrating but I appreciate them actually holding off instead of forcing it out.

More likely to be to push sales of the S25 series - as a lot of the features are going to be available to the 24 series with One UI 7

Correct we have no idea how much the new features rely on the new Elite chip in the S25 and what they have to tweak to make the S24 etc work

Yeah, I brought this up in another thread. As much as I would like Samsung to deploy their updates like Apple, that definitely wouldn’t be a reason for me to go back to the iPhone lol.

Yeah, but there is some truth to it… we haven’t seen One UI 7 for the tablet line. Samsung is a bit delayed at the moment. It is what it is, I’ve accepted it.

I gave this some thought, but One UI 7 is a major overhaul… so I’m not surprised it’s taking this long to be pushed out to other devices. Especially with the changes made to that Home Up modules from Good Lock…. Along with all the AI features they plan to add to other devices.

Oh yea I get that, it's not a big enough reason for people to leave Samsung. I was just saying that it's one of the things that I appreciate more about IOS and Apple. One UI 7 still looks to be a great update, most of the features (hopefully) trickling down to the S24 Ultra is definitely a plus.

I'm certainly conflicted when it comes to Android and Samsung in general, there are a lot of things to like, customisation, One UI features, battery life has gotten a lot better since the early days of the Note series (was one of the reasons I returned a Note 20). But there are also negatives, just like with any brand.

Also the one thing that Samsung has that others don't at the moment is the Galaxy Ring. Pixel doesn't have their own, as far as i'm aware no other Android OEM does (I could be wrong since I haven't looked at them all). Samsung seem to be fleshing out their ecosystem. The Galaxy Ring along with the Watch could be a game changer when it comes to accuracy, wear the ring to bed instead of the Watch, wear the watch to work out in.

At least that's what I've been mulling over.

Well, why haven’t you done it yet? Go pick up a Ring and Watch Ultra to give it a try… you never know, you probably end up preferring the setup over Apple ;)

Because I'm a very indecisive person, I've been thinking about the Pixel (as mentioned in previous posts). By the time I've thought about it there is always a newer more updated version of something coming out. I do like the look of the Galaxy Ring, especially that black one 😍

I've always been the same, I'm a nightmare at deciding what I want. I see the plus and minuses in everything, my family hate it 😂

I’m kind of the opposite lol… I know what I want out of my devices because the Galaxy Fold fits me, being able to multitasking and everything that comes along with it. And I have an iPad to get access to the Apple Ecosystem, even allows me to run some iPhone apps… so I’m good where I’m at.

Don’t get me wrong, if a newer version of the two (iPad & Fold) comes out and it’s a compelling upgrade… I’d do so.

I don't have that issue at all. 🤣

The Pixel is nice but I will say that the reason it went back so quickly was because after I set it up, my exact thought was "This is it"?

Wasn't a fan of the launcher. I know I could switch to Nova but then I started thinking about all of the software on Samsung that actually helps with daily life. Pixel is a blank canvas essentially and I'm sure you can fill in those blanks, but it really seems like One UI is more like iOS but with more and better options to help you quickly navigate your phone.

You really have to like the less is more of the Pixel's and it's sometimes recommended to IOS users that are switching as its simplicity compared to feature rich UI like Samsung and Apple can be refreshing

But it's not for me :)

I think the appeal to Pixel is that it's stock Android. I do like One UI as well tho, in fact I have more experience with One UI than with Pixel OS.

I'll wait and see tho, even tho Google is currently offering £200 off the Pixel Pro range (including XL), I'm holding off and wait and see what's announced with Pixel 10. It's not like I have to decide straight away, I'm not in any way desperate for a phone, after all I still have my iPhone as my main phone and my S24 Ultra as my second device.

Interesting. As @SteveJUAE pointed out… I thought the Pixel UI is more like iOS, not One UI. Most Pixel users would claim that the experience feels more like iOS.

They used to be comparable, but now iOS has actually added more features like app theming and live activities to the point where the Pixel seemed less exciting than an iPhone, believe it or not.

Wait what, you can't app theme on the Pixel?

You can. But all the icons don't change, only the ones on your homescreen (not in the app drawer). So in that sense, Apple is actually ahead of the game.

Now, we're obviously just talking the Pixel Launcher. You can of course download Nova and have access to thousands of icon packs.

I never thought i would hear of Apple being ahead when it comes to customisation.

Haha and "ahead" may have been a poor choice of words. But that was my first impression of Pixel UI where in the past, switching to Android was always really exciting.

Now, OneUI on the other hand...that looks exciting.

I'm frustrated with the lack of updates mainly because I get excited by a new OS update and usually download day one. I am seeing all these people talk about the features and I'm already 2 months behind. Once I get to enjoy the excitement of the new OS, I will already be 2 months behind. I've see Android 16 is already in Beta (I've seen people say that on Reddit, not sure how true it is). That already tells me I can't enjoy 17 with everyone else because everyone else has already moved on. I compare it to how we used to watch TV like 20 years ago where eastern folks watched things first and then I had to wait 3 hours to watch the same thing because of different time zone. We're all not on the same playing field.

Hi . I need a bit of help. I have purchased a galaxy s24 ultra . However when it arrived it has its SIM tray on the side and not the bottom . On the bottom are two speaker outlets. Most videos show the galaxy s24 ultra with sim slot on the bottom. I'm therefore confused as to what I have.
