I'll have a closer look but where the SIM card insert is on those phones I have another speaker slot similar to the other.
Did you not get a box with phone ?
Cant you see logo on back of phone ?
Switch phone on and boot sequence will say what phone it is
Go to settings and see about phone will give you all details

Hi . I need a bit of help. I have purchased a galaxy s24 ultra . However when it arrived it has its SIM tray on the side and not the bottom . On the bottom are two speaker outlets. Most videos show the galaxy s24 ultra with sim slot on the bottom. I'm therefore confused as to what I have.
Take a picture of the bottom of your phone.

What you are describing makes no sense. All Samsung phones at least that I am aware of have the sim tray at the bottom. Most are right next to the microphone but the s25 series is not. But they are all at the bottom.

It is possible you got a counterfeit Samsung phone but a picture of the bottom and looking into about phone in settings should tell us one way or another.

I'm frustrated with the lack of updates mainly because I get excited by a new OS update and usually download day one. I am seeing all these people talk about the features and I'm already 2 months behind. Once I get to enjoy the excitement of the new OS, I will already be 2 months behind. I've see Android 16 is already in Beta (I've seen people say that on Reddit, not sure how true it is). That already tells me I can't enjoy 17 with everyone else because everyone else has already moved on. I compare it to how we used to watch TV like 20 years ago where eastern folks watched things first and then I had to wait 3 hours to watch the same thing because of different time zone. We're all not on the same playing field.
If you want seamless Android updates… your choice is the Google Pixel, Samsung is known to make several changes to Android with One UI. That’s why Galaxy users will always be behind… but in this case, there’s a significant overhaul with One UI 7.

Because normally Samsung pushes out major Android update within a month. Don’t get me wrong, Samsung is at fault for taking so long… but I can understand the reasoning behind it.

Samsung used to be terrible being like 6 months behind in major OS updates. It is a lot better now.

The other thing is compared to other Android OEM'S including Pixel Samsung's OneUI and even the old school Touchwiz were always very stable upon release. Major bugs are rare. Samsung takes more time to deliver a more polished OS and although I really hate waiting a stable and reliable update is always appreciated.

Apparently there was a leaker who reported on Twitter that the Android 15 update won't be available until April now.

This is strongly making me consider going back to Iphone. If there is one thing I hate from companies it's lack of communication, and we have had 0 communication from the source itself. Everything is being posted by leakers or just people who don't actually work for Samsung. At least with Apple, you know at WWDC the new OS will be released in September and everyone will have an opportunity to get it, no matter what apple phone you have. Yeah people can ask things like why are you so upset over just an update or why does this bother you so much. It's not really about the update itself that is bothering me about this. It's the company leading their consumers astray and no one actually from Samsung explaining what is going on while other companies are ahead of the curb. This reminds me of my early days on Android where I was on an older version (I don't know what it was called, but I think the version after was called Jellybean) and because of the phone that I had, I could never get an update. I buy a flagship phone and I can't get the new update because they want to sell their new baby and leave the older sibling behind.

I hate the wait on the upday but honestly what bothers me is I can get a temper glass screen protector to work with this fingerprint sensor.

That's a reason I will consider going back to phone alone. Nothing beats face I'd in my opinion.

And yes the oneui thing sucks also but I'm not surprised. My problem with pixel is that's its slow bland you don't even know what the updates do.

Totally get where you're coming from. Then again, you'd go back to the iPhone and be dealing with buggy software but hey, at least it's on time. That's basically my view literally coming from the iPhone.

Buggy software that gets updated like every 2 or 3 weeks? Apple is usually on top of things and when I had the 15 Pro Max, it wasn't that big of a deal. What samsung is doing is waiting until they perfect the software, but the software will never be perfected. There will always be bugs or new concerns. Now they are just alienating those who bought the flagship phone from last year and the worst thing is they aren't communicating about why. Not only that, but any other phone below the S24 they are alienating as well. It's not good customer service.

I think it's all about what's important to you. iOS has been completely buggy for a few years now, so I didn't care if they were updating every 2-3 weeks.

OneUI is pretty darn stable in any form. Totally get why you're frustrated though.

Completely understand, lack of communication is an annoyance of mine as well... but is there something wrong with your S24U? As much as I'm anxious to have One UI 7... the delay of it is not driving me to look at the iPhone.

Samsung is absolutely wrong, we are totally in agreement... I think they should have given access to the beta on all their devices and let people decide if they want to deal with the risks.

Apparently there was a leaker who reported on Twitter that the Android 15 update won't be available until April now.
Yeah, it's disappointing. They had posted a newsroom article claiming it would be released in Q1.. now they are pushing it back another month, not sure what's going on.

Just for perspective @sjsharksfan12 People are furious with Apple over the constant delays noted in the article below. Sure they'll release a software update, but one of empty promises.

There isn't anything wrong with the phone, there is something wrong with the company that made the phone.

To address @mjschabow above,

Yeah the way Apple launched Apple Intelligence has been a real downer. It's not that things have been delayed, but all the commercials all winter long advertising this AI when it wasn't ready was completely false advertising. I think the difference between Apple and Samsung though for me is Apple does have a pretty strict update schedule and the phone experience is pretty good, not to mention I'm still like 3/4ths part of the ecosystem (I still have the Mac Air, Apple TV, and even the Airpods). The only reason I had to go to Android was for the navigation system in my car. In the end I probably will stick with Samsung, but to be sold this phone and promised updates and then the next year be treated like "old news" is just bothersome. Again, it's not the phone, it's the customer service/experience.

This would be awesome if it's true.

I see this kind of differentiation a lot in my discussion with Apple fans. They will let Apple off the hook for blatantly lying to them (Apple Intelligence) (throttling) (planned obsolescence) and then nick pick something minor about Samsung or another Android phone maker.

How do you know Apple is updating IOS properly or addressing security updates or exploits? Just because they send an update doesn't mean they are ignoring known exploits and security concerns. Since Apple is so secretive about these things...we have to take them at their word most of the time. Do they have a set schedule where they send out monthly security updates or patches? Something where they have accountability?

There is nothing wrong with being an Apple fan and buying their products (I am an Apple fan btw) and loving their egosystem. It really works well together. But Apple fans tend to let Apple off the hook so to speak for things will holding other companies like Samsung to a higher standard. I wish they would hold all companies to the same standard....

Not getting OneUI 7 by now is a bummer. Just got the Febuary security patch today.

I have upgraded yearly for many years when it comes to smartphones and this is the first year in a while I am sticking with my s24U for at least another year.

One thing I hate and really like about Samsung is stability. Of course I don't hate stability but I hate waiting for it. However over the years the most stable phones regardless of OS or brand has been Samsung. They sometimes are fast with updates in recent years but sometimes they are really slow but generally there is a reason. I would rather have really stable and bug free software than rushed updates full of bugs.

My s24U has been the absolute best phone I have ever had. The s25U seems in some ways like a downgrade. Screen is essentially the same-even though the newer version of Gorilla armor is more drop resistant it scratches easier? The panel is the same except for a very small difference in size? The s-pen lacks Bluetooth compared to the s24u? Only two camera differences and only one sensor change. One of those camera differences are due to the new Snapdragon Elite chip. And finally while the Snapdragon Elite is significantly faster the 8 gen 3 was already a very good chip. Battery life might be slightly improved but the battery tech is the same as is the size of the cell?

I really like having a rectangular screen with squared corners and a completely flat screen! I mean I really like it a lot and it differentiated Samsung's Ultra over all else and now the s25U looks like an iPhone??

So I am not going anywhere. I have also heard that OneUI 7 is not that much different from 6 except in window dressing and animations. Some features are even removed so I am not so sure I am that excited about it. Android 15 has some nice upgrades but again nothing really missing in 14.

So I will wait and as long as I get monthly security patches then I am good.

The phone I am most excited about is Apple's iPhone SE 4 which doesn't dazzle in specs by any means but for me would be a cheap way to get back into iOS as a secondary phone just to keep tabs and switch every so often. I have a Mac and iPad and the integration is better than my s24U, GB4, and sTab s9. However in some ways there are more features with Samsung. Samsung has always treated me right with the best trade in deals and pre order deals so I am more interested in next years Ultra or the year after that.

In fact, I love the design and screen of my s24U and figuring it might be the last with a rectangular screen I may keep it for the entire 7 years!!

TBH, OneUI 7 is slick (and more polished than expected) but various other cool add-on's are lagging behind so it still leads to some consternation

I rely upon this one device for personal (+some! Intune/MS Work Folder business apps) and would rather have mobile phone stability far more than oodles of new features slammed in with bugs out the wazoo.

A guy I follow on Youtube just put up a nice video talking about what is going on with Samsung and the One UI 7 update. For me, I just want someone from Samsung to explain why there is a delay. I don't want this Ice Universe or that other Twitter leaker saying it. I want to hear it from Samsung themselves. I'm willing to be patient, but the communication has been awful and that's where I'm at with this delay.

I have the Galaxy Fold 6 and nothing is said or known about it... we only talk about the Galaxy S... which is more (even) worrying...

You have to laugh as the guy from Sammobile gave the answer to his own question

There simply is not enough users out there that know or care on receiving fixed dates of release

On normal fan sites even if Samsung or Apple or any other OEM actually told their users why or explained things it would simply be criticised and skewed to death regardless, it's the nature of the beast :)

It was the same last year we had to wait 3 months to get the features of the S24's on our F5's, Flip 5's and S23's

Samsung have promised we will get the updates as part of the 7 years support pledge, so its coming and just bide your time with more interesting things :)

Or just buy an s25 series phone or the cheaper $150 Samsung phone that is new and you will have OneUI 7!!

Jokes aside, the s25 series even with an iterative update seems to be liked by people in the thread dedicated to the s25 series. I have heard people say it is the best phone they have ever had which is what I have said about my s24 ultra.

Samsung is slow for major updates and always has been. It is a shame and no real reason for it if Pixel can release 15 several months ago and supposedly Google and Samsung have a close partnership.

But we all know sales of new devices is the bottom line for all tech companies. To think otherwise is naive at best. So we just have to wait. We can complain all we want but it won't make a difference. If you want fast updates then iPhone or Pixel is really the only choices you have.

I really do like Pixels and the software and AI done in a way that mostly is useful to me. However, the hardware on Samsung phones at the top end is just vastly superior to pretty much everything else and at the end of the day that is the most important thing in my user experience. Over time if you keep your phone more than a year that superior hardware really makes a difference.
