I get it, I’m actually one that doesn’t really get too much into it when it comes. It comes as long as it’s running smoothly with no bugs.
Well we still get 7 OS upgrades. Late or on time Samsung still has to deliver the updates to fulfill their promise. I highly doubt they will not do what they have promised as that would seriously compromise sales.

It sucks, no doubt that this major update is delayed but we will get it. If they mess up this one time but from this point on keep up with timely updates I give them a pass.

I agree, generally speaking OneUI 7 has been flawless for me. No major bugs have come up. The only one that's noticeable to me may be Home Up. I use the grid style app switcher and at least a few times per day when I swipe up to look at all open apps / to switch it'll kind of glitch out and go back to the home screen.

Not a major issue to me. The only other bug on a phone that has really bothered me is iOS where out of nowhere while typing the volume goes to max. That is incredibly jarring 😂

They will deliver, yes. I would think they'll be on time with monthly security updates.

It's not really a matter of getting the update or not. It's a matter of trust and customer service to me. One UI 7 is delayed. Fine, I wish Samsung would tell me why and sell me that the wait is worth it. I'm tired of seeing news from leakers or just random individuals. I wish Samsung would communicate better than just there are bugs and the generic response. I bought your flagship phone last year. Chances are good I am keeping your phone. You promised 7 years of updates. Don't I deserve to know why things are delayed as much as they are? I gave you my money. How about you give me the service that you initially promised.

Sorry not that I think we don't deserve the One UI 7 update sooner, but where does it say its delayed or otherwise.

To me it is simply a propagation of false expectations that it was to be available on last year(s) models at the same time as current models (ie S25)

I am not aware Samsung have ever given a promised release date, so how can there be a delay. It is simply not available yet.

I agree they could as they have done before on Samsung members and publish a release schedule for other devices, however it's almost a given that major updates are trickled down usually 3 months after current devices, that is the norm in recent years.

I guess they could of done an Apple and said "coming soon" but that rubber band date is being stretched already and is worthless LOL

I do wonder how a company the size of Samsung can’t have a software update ready to rollout for all qualifying devices pretty soon after their new flagship gets it. I understand the new phone has it and that’s part of the marketing strategy to increase sales but to not have a software update for last years flagship several months later does seem crazy

Well, it's what you stated... our expectations. We routinely received the major One UI update before the latest S release because that get shipped with a x.1 firmware. That's why there's so much negativity surrounding the delay of One UI 7 because normally we would had received it (probably around September/October).

But according to Samsung they plan to release it before the end of the 1st quarter, so... it's not necessarily delayed.

Other companies are already working on Android 16 and Samsung, one of the biggest brands in the industry is still on Android 14 for more than 3/4th of it's line up. I would call that delayed, even though you are right, they said they were releasing it in Q1.

Out of interest, why can’t Samsung release the update, for example one ui7,at the same time for all the devices that are eligible for the update like apple do?

We can only guess it's not as easy as we may think :)

Even Apple who supposedly have complete control over software and hardware can't deliver what was supposed to be in the box with IPhone 16 and that's after 5 months, let alone compatible devices.

If anything most perceive Samsung OS updates have been far more stable and less buggy than IOS of the last few years , even if you have not been affected.

There is no grass is greener IMO :)

They need to do a better job at releasing OS updates IMHO. When a new devices is released with a new Android version...it should be available in like 30 days for all of the rest of supported devices.

For sure. Making an assumption here, but they're most likely holding off because they're trying to squash bugs.

The "It just works" company has been sending out buggy updates for years.

Hell, I remember back in 2020, I stopped getting text message notifications. Opened up a ticket with Apple and they told me it was just my device. Then a month or two later they acknowledged publicly that it was an issue.

So we FINALLY have an official date for the OneUI 7 rollout.

I'm very excited to receive the update on my S24+, which still feels so awesome to use: thin and light despite being big, super bright screen, batter life still gets me through the day, super fluid, using more and more the AI features (like removing objets from pictures, which works amazingly well), etc.

Still can't see any new flagship worth upgrading to. Mine has 12GB RAM and 512GB of storage, more than enough for my needs. Camera is also good, and the newest flagships still don't offer a 3x times improvement in camera quality. Hoping someday a phone gets along that disrupts the whole industry with a big jump in image and video quality, specially night photography.

Anyways, with OneUI 7 the S24 series will become even better. I love the new widgets and the new look of notifications, and the new added options for the lockscreen, among other features: call recording, audio eraser AI, Now Bar for live sport scores, etc.

Everytime I try the S25 series at the store, what impresses me the most is OneUI 7. Everything else isn't a big improvement over the S24 series.

I like where Samsung is going with their software. After OneUI 7, the S24 series STILL has 6 future OS updates waiting...

I'll answer this:

1. Not ALL Galaxy S series devices supported under current warranty to get OneUI 7 have the same SoC's.
Coding and recoding and dialing in efficiency's for 1st, to 4th party apps and of course Battery life a HALLMARK of Samsung tried and true even with potentially the industries smallest batteries in each category, typically outdo the competition or shy less than a total 2hrs full to depletion.

2. Not all SoC's support the same LTE or 5G bands globally or regionally - aka Exynos vs Qualcomm.

3. OneUI 6.1 already HAS everything that AndroidOS 14, 15 and 16 all have or will have.
OneUI 7 will introduce a few features none of the above yet to have.
Now since its not just updating an existing UX user experience but a complete feature rich overhaul of 3r paty apps, features etc .... this also introduces bugs and of course monthly security patches to be added on ... on TOP OF Google's monthly security patches!

THESE all have to be considered.

If I am not mistaken the OP is wrong and the only 2 backwardly compatible devices for Apple AI are the 15 Pro and pro max and they were not updated immediately they had to wait for 18.1 18.2 18.3 to catch up with the IPhone 16 which is similar to Samsung roll outs :)

That's NOTHING similar to Samsung's rollout!

Samsung makes MORE devices that are supported by their OneUI 6, 7 and upcoming 8.
Samsung supports more devices that'll get more features with OneUI 7 that are older than 15 series.
Samsung has more products using various SoC's than Apple and yet they still deliver on the same time-frame as the previous year - delays are fabled form parrots across the internet with no facts supporting their hate.

Samsung is doing this with 1 update ... not 3+ btw.
Also Samsung is DELIVERING on what is promised NOT falsehood's that need to be covered by deleting ads.

that's a HUGE difference.

I am not disagreeing with you and my appols if I confused you or diminished your post :)

I an simply noting that Apple do not update all the devices that are eligible for the update at the same time as in the case of the 15P and 15PM are lagging behind the IP16P/PM

Just a few more days until OneUI 7...
Very Excited for OneUI 7. Just like 6.1 last year - and getting the full suite of Galaxy Ai v1 on my S23 it was literary like having a brand new phone!
I've learned to expect nothing and when it comes, it comes. Hopefully it comes to my phone this week.
^ This time around, having my Galaxy S23 for 1.5yrs roughly is the spirit I'm keeping as although I've love the Now Brief bar/widget I'm doubtful the S23 series will get it.

Still waiting…

Same here. I have been seeing a lot of videos about it so far yet I would say more than half the world hasn't recieved it yet. It's like when the first updates went out the embargo was lifted, but I wish they would have waited a week to upload their videos. I hope it's a decent update.
