What’s up with these supposedly new S24 Ultra’s on Amazon selling at big discounts, are they genuine they are listed as dual SIM, so not sure how much that is to do with it as otherwise it sounds too good to be true?

If you mean Amazon UK then yes; they're grey imports (ie not the UK version)

There's a few feedback that mention this but all positive as well

Thanks. So they are usable in the UK then. What’s the disadvantage of such devices lack of tech support from Samsung UK?

I see the UK version at baseline is down to £999.99 over 12 months on Amazon, very tempting especially if they hike the price if the S25 Ultra.

I'd say you'd struggle with support if anything went wrong

For me it's not worth the risk for a £100 or so over the UK version

Have you checked on Samsung to see if they've any deals going currently like they did in August when I bought my S24U?

Just ordered one and it arrives on Saturday. I had one a few weeks ago but didn't really commit to it as I've got a 16 Pro but I've now decided it's time to go back to Android. Embedding it into my Apple ecosystem (iPad, MBA and Mac mini) may be a challenge but hey it'll pass the time.

How did you find the square sides. Seems to be an ergonomic pain literally with it.

It was a big strange but I've got big hands so I didn't mind it. I only kept it for 3 or 4 days, I'll get more experience with the next one as I'm giving up the 16 Pro straight away

I’ve had for years a secondary larger Android phone that I use like a tablet, so I’ve had various notes in the past though my current one is a OnePlus 6 but that’s very old now & the Ultra of course is the heir to the Note series. it’s always been the squareness that’s put my off as I didn’t get one with of the very square notes designs and ended up sending it back.

I also used to have Notes. I'd say if you didn't get on with those, I doubt you'll get on with the S24 Ultra. The S25 Ultra is rumoured to be a bit rounder.

Just got a Samsung Members message through on my N20U to say it's Black Friday for Samsung with £250 off the S24U and if you order via the Samsung Shop app; you'll get another 5% off with code BF5

This is what I did in Aug 2024; used the app, got 5% off as well as the discount that Samsung offered at that time; £200 for trading in an old Samsung handset and won £150 cash back with a possibility of doubling it, which I did, so a further £300 back!

The beta invites for One UI 7 should be available in the members app soon!

I would love to be wrong… but I doubt we getting any beta invites.

I think Samsung release One UI 7 for the S25 series in January and that following month they release it for the S24/S23 series. It seems strange to release the beta now... because in a month or 2 the S25 will be released. As they stated in the developer conference back in October (I think), OneUI 7 will be released next year... there was no discussion about any beta invites.

the beta does seem to be a little late. But recently Samsung pushed out a software update to get ready for one UI 7 beta. People on other forums think the beta invites could start the first week in December. I think it could go either way to be honest.

Well the same actually happened for the S23 after the S24 launched. Just over 1 month and the s23 base model got OneUI 6.5 with AI features (all).

Man did I pick a perfect time to switch!

Rumors of Samsung elevating their Gauss LLM out of their Bespoked products and into Galaxy lineup with ChatGPT partnership cannot happen soon enough!

Despite the early comedy of Appke Intelligence, it's looking every bit of what Knowledge Navigator promised in 1984, and what Siri failed at; giving Siri a brand new breathe of fresh air!

I've tried so hard to use Bixby and even without poor vocal performance of the Buds2 Pro mics it barely even recognizes standard commands!!! At least Siri responded and always worked at that!!

I still miss my 13 mini & ill have to buy another, as my late mother has some profound Messges she sent to me that are locked on my iphobe 4S disabled & on time machine hdd. Apple support are being sensitive Candy Stars but considering in the one that should be sensitive. Hate putting in a support ticket for a rep calling you asking "how can i help you"??@ confess across as they did not even read the support ticket in their que!!

The S24 was a let down.
The S25 offering more ram & storage is upgrade worthy!

i have heard rumours of samsung adding chatGPT support going forward which makes sense and would only make their al options stronger

I don't see that happening without approval from Google... because chatGPT competes with Google. Only way I see Samsung adding chatGPT is by some financial benefits... and Apple didn't do that on their platform.

Apple adding chatGPT makes sense (they have no skin in the game)... don't get me wrong, Apple competes with Google. Android vs. iOS and other products, but integrating chatGPT onto an Android phone... I don't know. Google and Samsung have a good relationship as of now.

I wish you luck. It's can be a real struggle to use alternative solutions when the Apple system simply works as well as it does together. The main headache is getting your spouse or family to use the other alternative apps, not so much you adapting.

I have to admit, I miss the Iphone 15 Pro Max. The only reason I went to Android was because of Android Auto and it's great, but there were a ton of things about the Iphone that I liked. I'm also finding the S24 Ultra a little overrated and part of that is I'm really not embracing the AI capabilities. I won't switch (Unless I buy a new car or find someone to give me a new Infotainment system on the Honda Accord 2017), but if I had a workable car play, I would have stayed with Apple.

And it’s finally out! Color me surprised!
Yep! Just enrolled for the One UI 7 beta. Waiting for the download to start.
Feels like early Christmas!

Awesome! Looking forward to your thoughts! Exciting times for Galaxy users!
So far so good! The update was fast and installed seamlessly. I love the animations and nice rounded corners on notifications and lockscreen icons. Also the app drawer is vertical now!

Yeah, I seen the 9to5google article about the change in the app drawer.

And I won't keep my Quick Setting and Notification separate... I understand the thought process behind it, they want the experience to be more Apple-like. But I prefer the way it is now... combining them both.
