Here are two extremely low light shots. One of a red bowl and the other orange cheese puffs in my messy living room.

Fingerprint sensor is the best I have ever used. Much improved in my opinion. S23 ultra was a mess for me. The P8P was mote accurate and now that has reversed.
Thanks. Does the red bowl look that shade of red in reality or is it darker?

Considering it is a low light shot it is very close to real life. Pretty impressed myself actually.

The only way you will know for sure is to try for yourself as I am sure there is some variance even between the same devices.

I honestly have been impressed with the cameras on the s24 ultra so far. I still think the Pixel 8 Pro is better but it is not a huge gap and in some areas the s24 ultra is better and other the P8P is better but overall I tend to get better shots with my Pixel but I just got this phone and have had the Pixel several months now.

Initial impressions of the s24 ultra are very good. That is the best I can say. In my eyes it is an improvement in most areas to the s23 ultra.

One thing to keep in mind is if the s23 ultra gets the same camera software as the s24 ultra how much will the new processing help the s23 ultra cameras? There is new camera processing on the 8 Gen 3 but the 8 Gen 2 might be able to handle most of it and with its 10x optical zoom we might see a difference in a month or so?? So the s23 ultra might still take better zoom shots but then again with more optimization the 5x 50mp might still be better??

But with my PC, Tab s9,galaxy phone, galaxy buds, and galaxy watch everything works very well together much like Apple. But I can use my buds and watch on my Pixel phone. I can use my s9 with my Pixel and my Pixel watch 2 with my Samsung phone.

whats the s9 like? I guess google have no answer to that model. I have the ipad pro 12.9 at the moment but if I go all in on android I'll need something

Samsung galaxy tab s9 11" is the full name. It is the only 11" tablet with an OLED screen.

I like 11" as it is the sweet spot for a tablet.

It is a great tablet with 8 Gen 2, 12 gb ram, 512gb ufs 4.0. Very happy with it. Speakers are great, screen is great, performance and battery life are great. My only complaint is it takes forever to charge.

Otherwise it is one of the best tablets I have ever had and certainly compares favorably to an iPad.

Did I mention it comes with a stylus, an s pen.

Very early into the phone, got it setup to start with. Still so much to explore and tweak.

Hardware is superb, this is a very high quality feeling phone.

Screen so far looks great to me. Phone is super smooth no lag whatsoever. Was surprised I could truly uninstall some apps the phone shipped with, and there really wasn't much bloatware on the phone, just a few apps I easily got rid of.

I recall older Samsung phones especially carrier ones had a **** ton of bloatware garbage. Not on this phone.

I really need a couple days especially using it at work for a day or two to really feel how I like the phone.

So far it's great, I'm pretty surprised, in a positive way. Yeah OneUI isn't vanilla Android ( which I prefer ) but this is pretty darn good so far, it's just different with more options.

I guess my question would be how much better of a phone is this than my Pixel 8 pro. I suppose that would be my biggest question throughout the next couple weeks.

Glad it is working out for you.

Just a personal tip for whatever it is worth, don't try to do a cost benefit analysis of your s24 ultra compared to the Pixel 8 Pro. You will return the s24 ultra for sure because you will become convinced it is a waste of money for the differences in the Ultra and you prefer Pixel UI better anyway. Then after you return the s24ultra you will miss it and want to buy another. It is at least a road I have been down a few times.

If I were you I would use the Ultra by itself for a solid week without even touching the Pixel. Do you enjoy anything about the Ultra that is not on the Pixel? Now after a week use the Pixel for a few hours, a day, and see how it feels. If you missed the Pixel the entire time and felt immediately at home when you used it again then you probably have a good idea what to do. If on the other hand you miss the Ultra then you will know if it was worth it.

My quick comparison between stock Android on the Pixel and OneUI on the Galaxy.

Pixel UI everything seems extra large or big. It's a very artsy bubbly almost goofy / funky design throughout the UI. The animations and the way things bounce and cool things like that are really neat. Which I've always liked and thought was a fun design, but I will say it's almost gotten too much into the cute almost kiddy style with things blown up extra large and silly looking at times.

Samsung's UI seems more business like, more like a Windows PC desktop UI if that makes sense? Or kind of like iOS design in some ways, and not at all the funky artsy Pixel UI. I like this newer OneUI no complaints.

The Lagwiz / Touchjizz days of old, I can officially say are over LOL. This S24 Ultra is super fast, very fluid, no lag or hiccups yet whatsoever. It's a very smooth operating smartphone to use so far.

Yeah there are some widgets or things I like better on the Pixel, wish I could get the bubbly looking Google Weather widget on OneUI, or the At A Glance widget. But I haven't dived into customization fully yet.

Ok that's my quick review after 12 hours so far.

Would love to get this type of custom home screen, but not sure how to go about all this.

Saw this on Reddit in the S24 Ultra sub;

Yeah, I like that device manager widget... it's probably from some Device Manager app on the Google Play Store. And you'll probably have to get a new launcher for that kind of setup.

I personally use the device care widget from Samsung (Optimize now button is accessible on it).

Yeah, I thought about that too. But I wouldn't be shocked to see that widget on the Play Store as well...
True there are plenty of widgets in the store ..seeing the layout though overall seemed more KWGT to me but you could be right

Uh, Houston we have a problem.

Went to bed last night, left the S24U on my desk, wake up, go to check on it, first thing I notice no AOD, no clock on? Ok, double tap the phone, nothing. Hmm ... battery last night was like 90%. Click the power button, nothing. Click and holding the power button and then letting go, nothings happening. Plugged the phone to a charger, and nothing showing up on the screen. Ugh. WTF?

I am so disappointed and frustrated right now. I've probably had 30+ different smartphones over the last 15+ years, and never had any brand new phone just not turn on again, and act dead like this before.

I just don't know how or why the phone just turned off by itself, and now won't turn back on again? Just makes no sense.

F Samsung support, I originally paid in full with debit card to purchase the S24U which was like $1400+ w/Tax and shipping, but now for the replacement they are asking for payment in full again, and will refund the payment later once they get the bad phone back and review it, which could take a couple weeks or more per customer support.

This whole thing is leaving a very bad taste in my mouth, probably just going to return the bad phone, and get my money back, not get another one, and be done with Samsung.

UPDATE:

Customer Support said call the TD department 1-800 line explain all of this, and give them all order info and details, and they will probably waive the fee to purchase the new phone. Ugh, I got no time for this BS I have a very busy day.
