The AI integration into the S24 is significant! I read they are replacing Bixby with AI.
I wonder if it’s just a branding change… since Bixby hasn’t really taken off as much as Samsung would have liked, I immediately disable it on my Galaxy Fold.

everything I have read is they are going to use on device AI that can use the cloud but not dependent on it like say Siri is. This is not just a rebranded Bixby but a whole revamp of AI on Samsung devices

This makes perfect sense. And bye Bixby, no one will miss you!!

I figure that Samsung would dive in on AI heavily like Google now that they have a chip that can take advantage of on device AI and generative AI. Samsung already adapted Google's call screening using Bixby and compared to Pixel it is pretty bad. However, I bet it is still a very popular feature and I am sure Samsung would like to even the playing field a bit and have some features that compete with a Pixel. It would further differentiate them from Apple and they would beat Apple to the Punch with rumors that the iPhone 16 and iOS 18 might have much more AI integrated.

I just hope that at least some of the AI features trickle down to the s23 series as well and are not completely device specific. The 8 gen 2 has some pretty decent AI capabilities and should be able to do a lot of the same things except for generative AI.

I also hope they don't half bake whatever they are doing like they did with Bixby. Samsung may not be Apple or Google but they have the funds to really make a good tool and I hope it works with Google assistant and doesn't try to replace it.

I am on different forums. Over at Android Central there are a lot of people outside of the US (mostly UK) that have already had the 14 update. They didn't have to go through the Members app to get it. They were either notified of the software update through normal procedures or they checked through software update in settings.

How is it Samsung's fault if you are redirected to your own countries Members site? Why would you NOT be directed to your countries site for the most accurate information?

For one it's Samsung or their site admin that routes traffic based on IP address being regional (I'm not using a VPN to mask my geolocation) ots in the html code. So yeah its Samsung's fault.

Not all corporate sites redirect you when you select the global site. Sometimes THE most accurate up to date information is via the head corporate site ;)

agreed with the bolded...except when it is country specific. Most global enterprise merchants have country specific sites that tailor to that countries laws and restrictions. So if you go through the Members app to a UK specific link...you can and should be expected to be redirected to your local countries site.
Then you ALWAYS have the ability to go to the main corporate site that is not country specific ;)

You can't blame Samsung if you reside in Canada and your members app directs to the CA site and info.
The link you provided https://www.samsung.com/uk/one-ui/ does not redirect me at all using Chrome. It opens just fine.

It looks like it is being branded as Galaxy AI
From Samsung themselves...

A New Era of Galaxy AI is Coming — Here’s a Glimpse

"Galaxy AI is a comprehensive mobile AI experience, powered by both on-device AI developed at Samsung and cloud-based AI enabled by our open collaborations with like-minded industry leaders. It will transform your everyday mobile experience with the peace of mind you count on from Galaxy security and privacy."

It's already taking every ounce of resistance to not buy a Pixel 8 Pro. Trying so hard to use just one phone. I may not survive black Friday. Loving what I'm reading about the S24 series as well. My office PC is in need of an upgrade and I am very interested in seeing whether I can get away with using an S24+ in Dex mode with a bluetooth mouse and keyboard, wireless scanning and printing, and MS OneDrive to share files between the office "PC" (the S24) and a cloud server I'd set up and log in to remotely.

I have a wild business fantasy of being able to run everything from a phone, take it everywhere and using a portable LCD screen when traveling as my "PC".
Conisder the following - if you've not YET got the Pixel 8 Pro (or if you have using native G-Android Desktop mode + BT Keyboard+Mouse)

Samsung Galaxy S series:
Logitech KB+Mouse
Samsung Dex (best to use a monitor vs an older TV like I have, scaling is difficult to view text from 4-6-ft away)
Download Andronix (not from Playstore but direct from their site - NO do you do NOT have to pay for their pre-packaged distros)

Termux - to run full linux over SamsungDex (no root required) XFCE is a lighter UX but many distro's are available this GitHub shows 1 option.
URL: https://github.com/Yisus7u7/termux-desktop-xfce/blob/main/README-en.md

ADB direct on device (you'll need this during configuration btw) https://www.xda-developers.com/install-adb-windows-macos-linux/

Here is Fedora Core XFCE

But what I want to know is ...

Can I configure Twikki's voice in the AI's replies?

lol ;) To think that's how the 70's thought computer glitches would affect speech responses.

The dummies are here.
No design change.

I think the biggest change will be on the software side this year. I am looking forward to a flat display S24 Ultra and all the AI features baked into the new devices.

If rumours are true, the S24 lineup will be coming in January rather than February. This new AI is intriguing, as long as Samsung dont put it behind a subscription based system (As rumoured).

Looks like the event will be on the 17th Jan, with Pre-orders happening on that day.

I wonder what the pre-order bonus will be this year, with the S23 Ultra (at least in the UK) we got a free upgrade to the 512GB version. I've still got my Buds Pro 2, so I'm hoping it's not a free pair of those.

I expect the same upgrade to 512 for pre-orders. I am hoping for a good trade in values for my S23U.
I am excited for the flat display and built in AI features. Then of course the normal year over year spec bumps.
This will be a day one pre order for me :)

I'm hoping that we get Snapdragon on the S24 Ultra worldwide! I'm also hoping that they give the same battery life or even better. A nice violet or red colour would also be great. The AI features are sounding interesting, especially if they match the Pixels Best Take and other features.

This time around I will also be buying a Galaxy Watch 6 but not the classic, I plan on making the most of Samsungs sleep features in the new Watch 6. I think I can use my Apple Watch Ultra as my fitness watch along with their Fitness Plus subscription, but then use the Galaxy Watch 6 as my everyday watch. That way I'm still using the Apple Watch Ultra not feel like I wasted money on it.

It's a weird one for me because ever since I tried an Android (Samsung S22 Ultra) and really enjoyed it, I've never been able to go fully back to Apple without missing my S23 Ultra.

We are the same in so many ways! I am an Apple guy and have had every iPhone since day one! Have a house full of Apple products as well.
But once I have gone to the dark side so to speak :D I cannot go without having Android phones. More and more I find myself using the S23U than my 15PM!
I wish Samsung would get facial recognition similar to FaceID or what the Pixel 8 pro. That would just be like icing on a cake at this point.

yep exactly the same here. every iphone from day 1 but S23U is getting picked up way more than the 15pm this year. Definitely needs faceID doing properly (and whispers, notifications but I know that's just me ;-)

Buds2Pro's are phenomenal ... the entire frequency range, volume & clarity as well as ANC & Ambient is worlds better than the AirPods Pro/Pro 2's!

Maybe new buds are released but with sllghtly better design to stay in the year but still a pass-through. Jabra Elite 7 Active just went too far in the ear BUT the rubber like coating was a smart idea.

Definitely will get the storage upgrade on pre-oders (which will ship before retail stores get them).
Also expect the primary core CPU jump from 3.8Ghz to 3.9 or 4.1Ghz according to the latest news.

Question is will Samsung bring the vapour chamber tech experience they used on the Galaxy Tab S9 to the S24 series lineup?! ZTE's Nubia Red Magic 9 Pro/Pro+ which has 'ICE 13' cooling system which now covers a total area of 10,182mm2 which is advertised to lower the phone’s running temperature by up to 18°!!

That actually looks good. I’m guessing that the flat display will be better for the s-pen.
Indeed, and the slightly inward curve of the sides towards the back for a better in-hand grip! First phone I've seen do this since the SonyEricsson Elm or HTC H620, and I'll bet this alone will give it great praise in reviews.

Wish list for the S24 series:
Qualcomm SM8650-AC (higher primary & secondary SoC speeds than the SM8650-AB aka 8Gen3 currently shipping)
2,160Hz PWM dimming or better
Under Display Camara for the Ultra would've been incredible though, maybe S25 series.

The Buds Pro 2 do sound great, the only issue i have with them is that they feel uncomfortable in my ears, especially when compared with my AirPods Pro 2. I do like the sound on them tho, the ANC is great too.

A storage upgrade is good, it’s more than Apple offer. I wont be trading in my iPhone 14 Pro Max, that will either be kept, or i will give it to my best friend who not so long ago dropped her iPhone and cracked the screen. I do however have my mums old iPhone SE original, cant see Samsung giving me much for that tho (be lucky if i get £20 😂).

I do love how Samsung ship the phones out early to customers, it‘s a nice little touch, rather than waiting until the exact release date.

I just hope Samsung is not using Exynos in the 24 Ultra, Exynos is never as good as Snapdragon. I also hope that they keep the battery life the same or even better, the one thing i liked about my S23 Ultra was the battery life.

I also wonder what camera upgrades Samsung will make, i love the 200mp on the S23 Ultra, i just want them to make the processing faster. After taking the photo it does take a few seconds to process the picture. I also hope they improve the 100X, i know it wont be as clear as the 10x, they could make improvements there.
