Same.

I haven't put my SIM card in my Pixel 8 Pro for about 10 days and just today I wanted to go back to it just to check it out again, that lasted a half hour LOL.

The [H]ardware is just too damn good on this beast.
That's how I've been with my iPhone 15 Pro Max. Haven't touched it for a week. Just seems underwhelming and unappealing.

I haven't used the Pixel 8 Pro for more than few hours since I got the s24 Ultra. I really loved the Pixel 8 Pro but Damn the s24 Ultra is just so nice. I am not going to say the P8P is bad because I still think it is one of the best Android phones available and I used to prefer PixelOS to OneUI but OneUI has adopted some of the things I loved about the Pixel but has additional features and configuration I prefer. So for the first time ever OneUI is actually good to me.

I really can't STRESS this ENOUGH!!! OneUI 6.1 is actually a good version or layer on top of Android. even on the S23 U I didn't prefer OneUI. In fact, I liked the phone despite OneUi. Now there are still a lot of issues with OneUI that I have always had, duplicate useless apps, 3rd party apps, and bloat, but it doesn't ruin the rest of the experience as in the past and a lot of it you can uninstall and or disable.

It seems some of Googles software polish is coming to it's partners and that is a very good thing. If Samsung continues to improve the OS experience of OneUI with more polish and rock solid features instead of gimmicks as in the past then they will continue to sell even more.

All I can say is for now, Samsung has delivered one of the best smartphone experiences I have ever had and I enjoy using the phone, picking it and feeling how light it is for it's size. I love the boxy shape. I just love the screen too. There just isn't any real flaw. Performance is great, battery life is great, camera is great-much improved in the software, build quality and design are great, screen is best there is, speakers are improved over last year, literally everything about this phone gives a good experience with no bottlenecks.

I think the anti-reflective screen and adaptive color along with a flat screen and small symmetrical bezels all add to a really unique and terrific experience in my opinion.

The thing I like the most about OneUI 6.1 is the iOS-like lockscreen widgets, even though they are few. Maybe Google will introduce this feature in a future Android version and allow 3rd party widgets, opening it to Samsung also.

On X there are some users reporting that after installing the new April update the phone heats up more, mainly during charging and using the camera.

Have you guys with the April update noticed this?
None for me

This phone hasn't got hot once even during set up

Well idk but I can't see any noticeable difference after the update..
Anyway what settings do you use when it comes to photo processing? Should I leave it on maximum or turn it off? What produces better result?
I've not seen any camera improvements on my ultra to be honest. Seems about the same

Yep

Incredible phone. The S24 ultra has replaced my pixel 8 pro for work. Today is the first time I've used my pixel in about 5 days

.going to use the pixel 8 pro most of today. I have so many phones I tend to take turns each day using my android phones. S24 ultra will be used all 4 working days and 1 day off for example.

Was using s24 ultra and one plus open two most yesterday

It will be interesting to see how many S24 phones Samsung has sold. I also wonder if the S24 Ultra sold more than the other models (S24 and S24+).

Did you end up getting the Xiaomi 14 Ultra? If you did, how are you finding it?

Historically, the breakdown has been Ultra 50% or more, followed by base model and + last.

I'm curious if s24+ will edge out the base model in sales. Last numbers I saw were mid-March: base 24% and + 21%.

Thinking about selling my MacBook Pro for a Galaxy Book4 Ultra...
I sold my MacBook Air for a GalaxyBook 4 Pro 360.

I would say a couple things. The GB4P360 is a great laptop and the screen is simply the best on any laptop right now.

The speakers are greatly improved over past generations but you still need to adjust settings, eq, and turn on Dolby atmos. BUT compared to the MBP that is one area the MBP sounds better. Both are good with rich bass and decent volume but the bass is better on the MBP.

I don't know about you but battery life on the M series MBP I had was nowhere near what Apple claims. I think I was getting around 9-14 hours sot.

The GB4P 360 gets me about 8-10 on average and sometimes closer to 11. But I have screen brightness all the way up, high performance mode in windows and Samsung settings.

If you like Apple's tapered design before the boxy redesigns then you should like the GB. Reminds me a lot of an older MBP. The build quality is very good and feels solid even though it is so light. Honestly, I had the 16" m1 Max MBP and it was so heavy and awkward as a laptop other than sitting on a desk I started to use it less and less because I was afraid I would damage it. It would slide if it wasn't on a flat surface because it was so heavy and overall despite the extra ports, great build quality, and all the rest I sold it for an M2 MBA. If the 16" MPB was as light as the GalaxyBook 4 Pro 360 I might have kept it. I really can't stress enough how great it is to have a decently powerful yet very thin and light large laptop. As much as I didn't like the sacrifices in Ives's design's I have to admit they were iconic and well made. There is something to having a powerful yet thin and light laptop. Samsung has really made a great design. The moonstone grey looks great while not showing fingerprints which is a first for Samsung laptops!

Overall it is probably the best Windows laptop on the market if you can afford it. I personally don't need the RTX GPU so the Pro works for me.

With the Ultra using dedicated Nvidia GPU it can affect battery life under load by a huge factor.

I don't know your timing. Do you want to do this soon or at some point? I ask because later this year Samsung should be releasing a GalaxyBook 5 with Intel arrowlake which should be on par with M3. Also in June there will be a Qualcomm Elite version of the GalaxyBook 4 released so there is a lot of good stuff coming up. I think the Qualcomm is for sure in summer while Arrow lake laptops might be announced in December and actually sent out in January??

A bit off topic, but after going back to the S24 Ultra I decided to pick up a watch 6 classic over the weekend. Whilst not quite in the same league as my AWU it's a marked in improvement on the standard galaxy watch I received as a free gift for pre ordering.

Paired with a knock off watch face for 89p and a 3rd party band I think it looks pretty nice.

Just ordered one out of the blue. Arrives Monday. S24 Ultra, Grey, 512GB Been meaning to try Android again because the last Android I owned was a Galaxy S5. I haven’t touched Android since then, I’m not joking.

Initially I’m going to use both my iPhone and the S24 Ultra together for both personal and work related stuff because I want to see which one I end up liking more. I’m still too locked in to Apple for family stuff so there’s no scenario where I abandon iPhone entirely (nor do I want to, I’m getting the 16 Pro Max this year after skipping 15 PM and maybe a new iPad if they’re impressive enough). I still have some red lines when it comes to Google and I won’t be using Google Photos for example. I don’t want them having my personal moments so fully committing to the Google ecosystem is always going to be a no go. I hope that doesn’t hinder the experience massively.

Maybe I’ll end up thinking it’s a waste of time and returning it but I want to know if two phones makes sense so I can have the best of both worlds. I’m going to have some days where I just take out the S24 Ultra so I can see how I get on. If I like Android and decide on the two phone thing I’ll probably move to Pixel 9 Pro depending on whether or not Google make a big enough leap from P8P. I was actually going to try this Android experiment when the P8P came out but lots of people said the hardware was so so. I really want to try stock Google Android.

Really excited. I’ll post again when I get some initial hands on time.

Other phones I’d like to try are the Honor Magic V2 foldable because I like the idea of a foldable and the new Xiaomi 14 Ultra because the Leica system in that looks pretty good and not just some name brand gimmick. Maybe I’ll wait for next year to try a foldable though because the Chinese brands seem to be making massive strides in that department. Not to mention they’re hard to buy in the US.

I rock 2 phones, the S24 Ultra and Pixel 8 Pro.

Takes all of 30 seconds to swap SIM's, and good to go.

I'm a diehard Nexus / Pixel user but got tempted by the S24U hype and it's real this phone is incredible.

But I'm still a Pixel fanboy #1 and prefer it's camera for portrait shots the best. I think for still photos the Pixel Pro can't be beat. I put my SIM back in my Pixel this morning, because of the Easter holiday and will be seeing family, so I what the best camera on me.

One feature I hope all smartphones start adopting is the non-reflective matte finish screen like the S24U. That really is a big deal. Now every other phone is like looking at a shiny mirror in comparison.

Looks really good!

I have an old Huawei Watch GT 46mm which I got at a bargain for just 69€. I decided on this model for my first smartwatch because of the great battery life (2 weeks) and price. Those are my main priorities: not having to charge every day and just to read notifications. I would like to be able to answer calls, but I'll leave that for my next purchase.

Samsung Device Care just got an update which re-enables SOT since last charge, which was removed with the OneUI 6 update for some odd reason. Now it's back. Great news. It's my preferred way of testing battery life on any phone. Samsung is great at listening its customers.

Do you use WhatsApp on both phones? If so, how does the syncing work?

I’m not in a rush. If I do switch, I will wait for Arrow Lake most likely. I also really like that it has the S24U’s anti-reflective screen.

Smart move.

The display is really nice. I said it was the best laptop screen on the market and I am not kidding. The MBP with Mini led gets brighter but not by much in SDR. The anti-reflective properties of the s24 ultra and galaxybook 4 series is a seemingly subtle difference but in my opinion it makes a bigger difference day to day than most people may think. On top of it because the effect is subtle most people might not even notice it. But it is a really big deal. Knowing me if Arrow Lake arrives early next year I will either sell or trade my GB4P360 and get it.

Arm is very interesting but I like x64 better for now.
