Most Apple and iPad loves are:

1) Apple employees :)

2) They are going to buy the iPad and are feeling insecure about their decision and need to justify why they are buying it and insisting why other technologies are inferior or options are not needed on the device to avoid looking like a loser fanboy. :)

See - I can make a stupid generalization too.

We are in an Apple forum, so it's ok to talk about Apple products because we like them.

Now if I were in a forum dedicated to Dell products and started trashing Dell laptops then that's lame, which is by the way what you and a lot of other Apple haters are doing here.

I'm not a hater at all. I love my 3GS, MacBook Pro, iMac. Don't go making assumptions just because I don't happen to think the iPad is "magical" and "revolutionary"

I think it's a cool device. It, as presented, is not something that I have a place for in my life. When and if there are OS changes and/or other features available, I will be right in line.

Don't confuse those that are critical with being haters. Anymore than anyone "defending" Apple would be a Fan Boy. Talking in hyperbole is silly.

No big deal if I voice my opinions which may differ from yours, either.

Indeed, but equally don't get so sensitive when you don't like what you get back.

And by the way, I haven't voiced my opinions, so why are you assuming they differ from yours? It's almost as if you were expecting it.....

You got all that from the word "may", in my response??? I think you are interpreting things as YOU like, rather than how they were presented. :)

No, I got it from the complete sentence, rather than one word in it. That's how we communicate. Well, most of us do anyway.

Do you wish to have a rational discussion about the iPad, or do you just wish to proceed in attempting to antagonise the MacRumors community, then complain when you get rude comments back?

dave1812dave is a classic troll. He joined in May but only had about 20 posts until the iPad was announced, after which he's had over 200 pretty much all negative posts. 5 of the 7 iPad flame bait threads he has started have been locked by mods.

By "antagonize", I take that to mean anything negative said about an Apple product. By "rude comments back", I take that to mean you readily conceded there have been rude comments! :) Apple lovers are the most rabid of fans and hence tend to see red when someone doesn't share their love of all things-Apple. Oh well!! (and for the record, I haven't been trying to antagonize. I just give my opinion about what I don't like about the iPad and the way Apple runs things. If that is "antagonism" then so be it. I didn't come here to have personal disagreements, but the Apple fanbois have made it their crusade to go off topic and delve into personal confrontations)

Bye then.

As far as I can tell, on multiple occasions, it has been YOU (Dave) that has turned threads into a personal disagreement. What do you expect when you go to a forum dedicated to all things Apple, and you start complaining a storm? It's fine to share your opinion, but the way you seem to argue, play the victim, then shrug it off as if you didn't do anything is slightly annoying and after about a week now; boring.

We all understand you dislike the iPad, plenty of people do. We should all remain respectful of each others opinion, though.

No big deal, just weird and abnormal is all.

It is kind of saddening in a way that you have nothing in life you enjoy enough to want to spend your time talking about, and you have only to focus on things you don't like or even hate.

With forums for everything under the sun, I really do feel bad that there is not a single thing out there more interesting to you or more enjoyable to you than hating Apple.

You're awfully judgmental. What makes you an authority on abnormal?

Do you really feel bad or are you being condescending?

How do you know there isn't a SINGLE THING out there more interesting to him. Again - stop judging others and making wild and reckless accusations when you don't know the person you're talking about at all.

He doesn't actually believe that dave1812dave isn't interested in anything else. His point was that since dave1812dave spends all of his time discussing something he doesn't like, there must not be anything out there that he does like/is interested in because in that case any reasonable person would spend their time discussing that. Given that dave1812dave must like something, it makes no sense for him to be here discussing stuff he hates when most people would prefer to discuss things they like.

I DON'T spend "all my time" discussing things I don't like about Apple. You Apple-happy folks here are really big on generalizations. I spend my time doing a myriad of things, but when I am online, and have a link at the top of my browser for this forum, I can quickly pop in and out of here for a few short (usually) comments. Too bad you guys can't stick to the topic of each thread. Instead you turn the threads into member-bashing.

How about we STICK TO THE TOPIC, for once??

Just a hint but sometimes bookmarks are known as favorites as well.

Not "worsts" or "least favorites", so you could probably fix you dilemma and compulsion by just removing the link to an Apple based forum when you seemingly dislike most if not all apple products.

1. I know they are "bookmarks" on the bookmark toolbar.

2. I dislike Apple more than I do their products.

3. No dilemma here, bucko.

4. You continue to be condescending. (at least you are consistent)
