I believe Bun now has 55... I have 19

Well, I was given an iMac G4 today...the last generation 1.25ghz 17" with 1gb of RAM(from the factory). It was the whole Kit'n kaboodle-keyboard, Magic Mouse, white power cord, white pro speakers, the restore disks, and a set of factory Panther disks. I'm excited about that one, although I need to track down one of the iMac G4s that can boot OS 9.

That puts me up to 51 PPC Macs, 5 Intel Macs(plus the iMac on the way), and 2 68Ks. That puts me at 58, or 59 if you count the Intel iMac that I don't have yet.

The only non working computer I'm including in that list is the Rev. A iMac G3. I also have to juggle PSUs to get all the MDDs working, but none the less they will all boot and run with a working PSU.

Not to high jack too much, but I've given in to temptation and actually bought three Intel Macs over the past week.

I bought a first generation CoreDuo Mini, a 2006 Core2Duo 17" iMac, and an early 2008 MBP(last of the pre-Unibody mdoels).

The MBP was advertised as a "beater" and it has issues, but is nowhere near as bad as I was expecting and the seller made it out to be. I'm currently installing Mavericks on it-for the second time as the first install would hang at the Apple. The seller advertised it as having a failing hard drive, and I suspect that this may be the issue. SSDs-particularly smaller ones-are getting so inexpensive now that I'll probably go that route, although I do have a couple of 500gb hybrid drives and a 120gb SSD on the way from the same seller. I'm anxious enough to get it working that I may swing by Bestbuy on the way home and pick up a cheap 120 gb, or just temporarily use the 60gb OCZ I have lying around. I intend to dual boot this in Mavericks(or maybe Yosemite) and Snow Leopard.

I gave into temptation last week and bought a 2008 MBA (a machine I had wanted for a while) which was advertised with a failing hard drive as well. After two OS installs (Mavericks + Snow Leopard) and countless boots it hasn't shown any issues (other than being slow, as 4200 RPM HDDs are). It does have another issue not mentioned though, a loose hinge, apparently common on early MBAs.

It spends most of its time in Snow Leopard which is fast and looks nice on these old machines, even ones with a 4200 RPM HDD and 2 GB RAM. However, I am glad that Apple decided to support it in the latest version of OS X for so long despite.

Another item I finally bought last week was an iPhone 2G :D

The number of Macs you guys have boggles my puny mind :p

He's a gem alright. I'm up to 3x Pre-G3 + 21x PPC + 6x Intel = 30 Macs total.
