Love the look of the new Apple band, but the price... wow!! Picked up a stainless steel version off Amazon for under $30... love the look and feel of it.

BTW my plan is to use this one exclusively — no need to swap out bands as it can be in the ocean or at a restaurant no problem. And it is so light! Fiddle to get the fit right and fussy to get on and off until you get used to it.

Love the Milanese titanium! Also, if you buy it with the watch and you get AppleCare, the band is covered as well, so that should help if there are durability concerns. I verified this with an Apple Store employee before purchasing.

Good to know, but I can tell you I have zero concerns about the durability of this band. I play beach volleyball competitively and have worn this band with the Black Ultra 2 since I received it two weeks ago at each of my teams matches. It doesn't have a scratch on it. I've taken it in the ocean, worked out with it, and sleep in it every night and it still looks as good as it did when it arrived.

Has anyone tried swimming with the Milanese loop to let us know if they had any issues?

for sizing this strap is it as simple as measuring around your wrist where the watch will sit? I measure 160mm so assume medium is going to work for me?

I'm at 160mm and I made a mistake of ordering a small size. The buckle is way too close to the ulnar side of the wrist, and with the strap fully extended I can barely get my wrist through it. Ordered a medium size, about to start return of this one. Another 5 weeks of waiting...

Sorry the small didn’t work out sand now the long wait, but thanks for sharing your experience so others can learn from it – not sure I’ll get one of these ay time soon, but if I do, now I know to go medium for sure.

Yeah, the sizing is tricky on these. I‘ve got a 205mm wrist and went into the Apple store today and tried the large size with my Ultra 2. Perfect fit with the clasp sitting directly on the underside of my wrist. I’m going to “stalk” the Apple store inventories for the band over the next while…to try and find it “in stock” at a local Apple Store and then order it immediately for pick up. Risky strategy..but we’ll see:)

I also ordered one from Amazon that is stainless steel rather than the $199 Apple version. Not sure how much difference there is in weight, but I'm very happy with the one I received. Yes, it's a little fussy to get it adjusted the first time, but once the initial adjustment is done, taking it off and putting it on is pretty simple. Like the way it looks and feels. No pinching, no hair pulling, no sliding around on wrist. Fit is quite good at a cost about 84% less than the Apple band.

eBay has these for much less and I think the black looks better than the high price Apple model.
