Can you share what exactly you asked Verizon? Never done local pickup with FedEx, is it similar to UPS? Able to pick up at 8 am?
I asked Verizon rep to call FedEx to have my package held for pickup Friday morning. If done correctly the rep should come back and verify the address of the local center. As far as what time that depends on the hours of the center. Mine is open 9am-5pm Daily and 9am-noon Saturday. Whereas UPS here is only open 3-5pm to pick up and ship from the center. Like I said every year I have done this and some of the FedEx reps say it's not possible. But Verizon is able to do it for you. If needed have Verizon Rep ask for a supervisor. They sometimes cannot do it though until it leaves the main hub as I have been told they don't have all the information yet. Not sure what they could be missing. But I have done it every year without any issue.

So while we are all waiting for our iPhones, what cases did everyone get? I bought a clear spigen case that will work for now, but I’m not that happy with it and I was wondering if anyone could recommended anything. I really like the Apple silicon cases, but the issue I have with those is that the bottom isn’t covered and with the iPhone X being stainless steel I feel like it may get scratched easily.

I called them and they told me the couldn't help me with my issue in regards to this. I am going to be staying at a resort an hour outside of my home from Friday till Sunday, then I will be out of town for quite some time after that due to work (several weeks). If I do not get the phone on Friday, I won't be able to get it for some time...

I called verizon (CORE) and fedex and was unsuccessful in getting my package address changed to the resort's (the resort told me that they can take in my delivery and is known for doing so for their guests, which isn't the issue at this point). Do I need to contact a supervisor from the Verizon Core team? Because I am at my wits end...

To everyone wanting to hold at the Local FedEx Center in your area for pickup Friday. Call Verizon and have them contact FedEx to put the delivery exception in. Verizon is the only one that can do this as they have tight restrictions on it, along with Apples no delivery before Friday. Your experience might vary depending on rep, but if needed tell the Verizon rep to ask for a Supervisor to complete the request. I have done this every year without issue and have done it again this year.

Did you call a certain department at VZ? Thanks!

On friday, I'm going to set my X up as a new phone, and then sign into iCloud. Seems to be the best move, no??

I have never had Verizon tell me no. FedEx yes they will say it's not an option depending on the Rep. But if you have them speak to a FedEx Supervisor you should have better results. As for address change, I cannot comment on that as I have never needed to do that. If you need to speak to a Verizon Supervisor go ahead and explain that FedEd stated only Verizon can request for Pickup Friday at your local center. Warning: If you need this held for pickup near your resort if that center is different from the one for your address, I have been told this could cause a delay and might not be available on Friday as it has to go to a different location. Again all this information Varys by Rep. So it's very hard to know what is the truth. Good Luck though

Once again, its not the date that matters is the configuration you ordered(group). if you have an 11/3 date and ordered a certain model and you're upset cause others who ordered a different model are getting bumped up, then you have no reason to be upset. In fact, you should be happy for them. They got the short end of the stick, but got lucky somehow. Everything will work out fine, hoping more people get bumped especially you 11/10 people!

They are SIM unlocked, but until you accept the terms and conditions you can't simply pop in a new SIM since Verizon has to authorize the device on their side. I believe this a fraud prevention mechanism and/or related to how their CDMA network (i.e. Verizon's 2G/3G) works.

You don't have to pay anything, you don't have to call Verizon, nothing like that. Just turn on your phone for the first time, go through all of the setup steps until you get to the Terms and Conditions screen, click "I Agree", then turn off your phone and restart the setup using the SIM card you wish to use.

These steps need to be followed regardless of whether you are using the phone on another network or using the phone on Verizon but for a different number than the line on which you purchased the phone.

Source: I've had to do this every year since iPhone 6 on Verizon (activating on T-Mobile).

Thanks for your thorough explanation, does this only apply to iPhones purchased via Verizon or Verizon model iPhones purchased from Apple store as well?

My debit card was charged last night at 7:00 pm. When I ordered on 11/27 @ 1:06 mst I had a 11/3 delivery date.

My question is how long does it usually take to get the shipping info after the card has been charged? It's now 12:30 pm and nothing yet.

I checked the spam bin, and nothing there either. It's not a super big deal, but I'm bored and just thought I would ask.

Thanks!

My card was charged around the same time as you. I haven't received the info over email, but I can see it by going into the order in the My Verizon app. Try that.
