From my understanding, you have to enter a card at checkout, to pay taxes and fees up front. I thought the activation fee was gonna be waived for people who ordered through the app? Could someone verify that?

Every test I’ve done with the Verizon app using the iPhone 8 shows I owe $0 “due today.” When I try it on Verizon’s site it shows I have to pay $30. Now whether that stays true with the app I don’t know but I hope.

FYI---- I called Apple sales to ask some questions and the rep engaged me in a conversation about pre-ordering the iPhone X. She stated she can check and be sure I wouldn't have a problem ordering an iPhone X at midnight as a Verizon customer via the Apple store app or the Apple website. She took my name, number, Verizon PIN, and last four SSN. She ran it and stated it went through just fine. No she can not order the phone yet!!! She stated if my Verizon account for any reason had a problem, it would have told her. In other words, when I pre-order at midnight, I will not have any problems related to my Verizon account. The Apple sales rep probably can also check address match if that is a concern for anyone.

You may not have to pay an upgrade fee but you’ll have to pay taxes on the phone and the 30.00 will be on for first bill

I have to update more than one line for my family. Do you think I should just do my upgrade alone on the app and then go back and upgrade 2 more lines separately? Through the app I don't think there is an option to do multiple upgrades.

Someone in another thread said: "When you order two phones, they ship together and not separately, so if one is delayed, the other will be too, so both can ship at the same time."

Ah So might as well order mine first through app if possible, whichever goes first. Then deal with the rest.

Probably. You can try swapping the SIM out of the new phone with your old phone SIM without activating the new SIM. You may still get charged the 30 bucks but it is worth a try.

Thanks, that's exactly what I'm planning on doing. I wonder if other carriers doing the same thing?

So I was looking to do a dry run on an iPhone 8 to put it on my Verizon payment program, just to see what it looked like.

Was just going to cancel at whatever point to confirm the sale, but after entering a pin it wouldn’t go any further. Tried to contact Verizon twice and timed out I guess?

So apple created a reservation for me saying: When we’re able to reach the carrier systems we will email you

One, I'm hoping it can reach Verizon tonight to preorder.. but 2nd if this reservation will somehow cause an issue trying to then order the iPhoneX. Talked to one rep at apple sales and said it shouldn't. Just wondering if anyone ever had this happen? Not feeling good about being able to finish the transaction later tonight with a bunch of people if it’s not even working now though.

I don't see how you can order separately on Verizon's website if you are upgrading two phones on the same account. The account shares a single shopping cart. Maybe two people can each add a phone to the cart, and then one does the checkout process, but I would be worried about making sure the cart stays in sync and how long the changes take to propagate between the computers. Someone should try it and let us know.

You have to order one. Then go back in and repeat the order process over.

When i test on the apple online store i get the following:

No trade ins via the apple online store but looks like it does allow me to purchase the phone.. Anybody knows how the trade in works in this case?

Not sure if its worth for me to keep trying to order thru apple or just stick to order thru verizon and call it a day..

I have this thinking that apple is going to have most of the phone inventory.

If you are already on the Verizon payment plan, you can not go through Apple to order. You have to go through Verizon.
[doublepost=1509040014][/doublepost]Which is better when pre-ordering? MyVerizon app or the Preorder Lite website?

Question for everyone; should we just be Command-R'ing this website tonight, or going from the app?? Final thoughts??

I will have 3 chances and the first one that gets me a completed order is the winner:

1) Apple Website - MacBook Pro
2) Apple Store app - iPad
3) Verizon app - iPhone

If I could get my wife interested (she absolutely doesn't give a flying ___ LOL) I would put her on the iMac with the Verizon website. I don't think I could manage all four, so I am sticking with three.

On second thought, I think I can manage all four! This is going to be fun!!

I have an iPhone 6+ due for an upgrade. If I want to trade it in for the $200 dollar credit do I have to preorder through the verizon app or can I use the apple app? How does the trade in process work?

I was just able to submit a successful pre order on the app! Submitted at 2:19 EST. Got email receipt at 2:20. I just tried for the hell of it and it went thru!!

I have a Verizon Business Account so I need to order through Verizon. I'm giving it a go on the My Verizon app. I'm doing a test run right now, and whenever I try to view a phone (iPhone 8 or Pixel or whatever), it says "Unable to process your request. Please try again." Any ideas on how to resolve this?

Holy crap, a buddy of mines said his friend just ordered and got it too, through verizon. I came here specifically to see if anyone else did, and low and behold.

Yes it did work!!!! I just pre-ordered using the Verizon app on my iPhone!!!

Now we gotta hope that Verizon honors the pre--order and we have not screwed ourselves from ordering on Apple app in case Verizon cancels LOL.

Glad to see I’m not the only one who pulled this off. This is crazy!
I was just testing it out and it let me do the order. Crazy, right?
