Carrier The Verizon iPhone X Pre-Order and Dispatch Thread

On the Verizon app, if you already get up to the screen right before you choose a phone, would the iPhone X be on the choose a phone screen at launch time? This seems like the quickest way but I don’t wanna wait til launch time to see if it works. My test runs with the 8 go through pretty quickly ordering from the 8 banner.

Tried a test run with the 8, but got this message. Also tried on the Verizon app with similar results. Anyone know what these might mean or a possible solution?

Follow up to this question. I did a test run on the Verizon website and I got through quicker. Will there be a banner in My Verizon on the website? Also, the seemingly last screen in the process has a button that says “validate” as opposed to “place order” in the Verizon app. Is this the same thing or are there some additional steps after clicking validate?

I think you avoid the upgrade fee if you go through app. That’s what I’ve seen with my test runs. Just FYI. Site is faster? Hmm.

In my past experiences pre-ordering from Verizon, you don’t get to choose a different shipping address. You can only have it shipped to the billing address. So what have to do is just go into your account settings and change the address ahead of time. Then after you get the phone, change the address back. I had to do this a few times so I could get my phone shipped to me rather than my parents’ house.

I don’t know if they’ve changed it this year, but as of last year for the iPhone 7, that’s how I had to do it.

Not sure if it varies by location or warehouse hub, but mine have always shipped via FedEx.

So if I pre-order it from either Apple or Verizon, will they gonna ship it or gonna contact me to pick it up?

So, Express Upgrade means You do not have to re-enter all of your info, go threw reviewing your plan & choose insurance. It skips all of that So once you choose the iPhone X color and size and you add it to cart it takes you straight to check out.

Are you the account owner? It has to be the the last 4 digits of the SSN of the main account holder (not anyone else on the account), and the zip code of the billing address on the account.

In my case, we’re on a family account, which we’ve had since before Verizon was Verizon. Even though I’m an account manager, and I do pretty much everything as far as our plan and payments and such, I still have to use my dad’s SSN when going through 3rd party retailers such as Apple or Best Buy, since he’s the one who originally opened the account.

You choose either shipping or in-store pickup. Not sure if Verizon offers store pickup, but Apple generally does.
 
Will it be faster to upgrade on the VZ app or online??? I did online last year and had to wait weeks for my phone...I am impatient..

what are the advantages of ordering direct from Verizon and not apple? does ordering through Verizon reduce the chance of getting the phone on launch day?
 
I’m turning in a phone and getting the x on the Verizon payment plan. What’s the best option? I don’t owe anything to upgrade as I’ve paid over 50% of the phone

On Verizon? Yes you can. Sign in > My billing > Manage Payment Accounts. Make sure that card has the same billing address as on the account or you will get stuck with an extra step on check out!

Thanks! Yea it was different because I split the account with my dad and it goes to his house, but just changed it to mine for the next day anyway. Should be all good.
 
I'm looking to switch to Verizon and preorder the iPhone X. Currently I'm on AT&T with an unlocked iPhone SE.

Is my best bet for a Nov 4 iPhone X to go into a Verizon store today and switch carriers without using my upgrade, i.e. just switch sims, and then use my upgrade during preorder tonight at midnight?
